I'm not ignoring them. What you are saying is basically because of the huge install base the PS4 enjoys, everytime some new online component launches it's going to be broken so just deal with it. That just solidifies for me that it might be time to say goodbye to Sony. I'll miss out on some awesome exclusives but I'm not going to invest in a broken online experience.

I thought it was going to be a bunch of shit, I left my ps4 on standby this morning so when I got home for lunch the update was already downloaded, as I couldn't either watch netflix or play Destiny without updating I decided to just do it, it took like 2 minutes and off I was playing Destiny instantly, maybe it's a good thing I'm on PDT, maybe when I turn it on it won't log in, or maybe GAF's gonna GAF...

Love the update so far. It was slow downloading but whatever, there's probably a lot of PSN traffic. I also downloaded all of the free themes and I love the Destiny one; the sounds while scrolling through the menu are superb. Great update.

It fixed it for me for a little bit, but after going into rest mode a few more times I got the flashing orange again.

Most of new themes are LOCKED and tell me to "purchase" from the PSN store. WTF?

I was able to get the Advanced Warfare theme to work. Its kinda cool for 5 minutes and I dig the music, but it gets annoying bc its a little too busy on the main screen with the overly prominent soldier taking up 3/4 of the screen. Meh.

There are also game demo tiles locked into my library with no apparent way to delete. Double WTF?

Overall this update is kind of a bust. We need folders and a way to manually organize games as well as remove old game tiles that are no longer on the hard drive. These are very basic, no-brainer OS capabilities that should have been in since launch. The fact that the first "big update" we've gotten in months still hasn't implemented this stuff yet is baffling.

You can though? Just press the options button and delete. Doesn't matter if it's a digital download or disc game.

Yup, I tried launching Shadow of Mordor even though it was locked, and it started to download the update.

no there was no mic output volume control i have a friend with loud mic we looked for the option before but now there is one.

Rhetorical question. It's a fact there was a mic output, for I used it many times. It even had an audio-feedback visual thing that showed you how loud or quiet your voice was compared to the ideal output.

No one seems to know about it because it was buried in the Settings menu. If you're saying it's now relocated to the chat menu or something instead, then yeah that's a good improvement.

Everything smooth here...Updated this morning, added themes over the PC store, and tried out all the new stuff this evening. Everything seems fast and smoother, except messages seems to be hit/miss. Very nice update. It actually makes me realize how badly I wanted more customization options. Background from my own pics, video playback, pause-resume, and more themes, and PS4 is pretty perfect after that.

Anyone want to help me hit level 30 in Destiny, or share DC with me (I won't buy it until it's stable and photo mode/weather is in) feel free to add! I'm also a fighting game fan so VF/TK/SF all that stuff I'll be a good buddy to play with for the entire gen, love my fighters, just done with them on last gen systems.

Do you mean output as in what your mic outputs to your friends, or other way around?

You could most definitely change the volume of your mic input, aka the output your friends hear from you.

Check your online storage for Driveclub and NBA, I know Driveclub is taking up like 120MB but I read on GAF someplace that it takes up nearly 1GB in itself for the save file stuff.

Weird. I can transition between online and all just fine with my app on Android

My experience so far:

-Downloaded the update and everything was fine. Put it into rest mode multiple times with no issue

-Played a game about an hour ago, put it into rest mode and got the blinking orange light

-Hard reset it, it checked my storage and then froze

-Restarted in safe mode, it checked my storage again and then I was able to rebuild the database

-Was able to boot up and enter rest mode again with no problem

-YouTube account linking has errored out every time that I've tried it[/QUOTE]

I created a new youtube account and I successfully linked, but if I go to any videos I have recorded and try to upload to my youtube account, it will error and give a code.

Tried the share feature today, during Destiny Nightfall. I helped a buddy make the jump near the boss to get to that vantage point up top. It was doable, but my god the latency. I felt like I was playing on a 150+ ms lag display which made aiming a bitch and his hunter a drunk guy on rollerskates on a ice ring aimlessly trying to shoot the broad side of a barn. It surely has a way to go before it becomes something I would use to try out new games, but then again upload speeds around here aren't that hot. Mine is at like 4.5 or something.

Might just be a problem on his end, or mine, or both and what I said might not apply to others. But the experience was far from ideal and I can't imagine how it would be possible to play something like Fifa or a racing game with share play.

Not dissing the service, I see tremendous potential there, but it still has a ways to go, babysteps and all that

Sigh... Tell me about it. I had to create a new YouTube account so it matched my PSN ID and it took me like 30 minutes to understand how to get everything working properly to then bump myself with the psn server problem.

Btw Google is the worst at this shit.
"You need a Google account to create a YouTube account which will create a Google + account and if you want to edit your YouTube channel you need to do so through Google +" seriously, wtf.

just had the same thing for the first time. Nothing helped so i had to unplug it from the power.

Immediatly after that my PS4 acted weird for 10-15 seconds when i tried to turn it on again (starting on and off with clicking sounds), after that it finally booted and told me it had to check the system storage.

So now it booted up and nothing seems to be missing so far. Will definitely not go into standby mode again. Not worth having to experience that scare again.

Yeah, it takes two quick taps to get back to only Online, but the default view needs to get put back.

Just hold down the power button for ~20 seconds. It will shut off, then reboot it. Mine has done it twice so far. :|

I just had my PS4 freeze/cut power twice after the update. Once when i went to edit my profile, and once while I was looking a store page. It makes me feel kinda nervous as I had to send a launch PS4 back after it kept cutting power randomly

Ya, but the fact that it defaults to all is a pretty big oversight. It's only a few clicks away, you're right, but it's still worse than it was before. Makes me wonder who thought it was a good idea in the first place.
