Not sure about anyone else, but when ever my PS4 is in "Stand By" (The orange light is lit on the console)and I have my Playstation to download automatically when in Stand By. So why is it when I get home turn on the console that the updates are starting to download when I boot it up. I thought "download in Stand by" means that it would turn on at a point (like the PS3 did) download and then go back into stand by. Am I missing anything?

I want to say that it checks between a certain time of day, typically 3am-5am est, for updates. If it detects nothing then it goes into full standby again. If an update is released after the check in time, then it won't be detected until you turn on the console again or until the next check in time.

Ideally, I'd like a push system or an ability to control how often the console checks or at what time it checks in.

Have they said yet what the blue dot next to the Friends Online number indicates? I'm assuming that shows you're online but I'd like some confirmation.

Yeah, I've noticed this behavior before as well.

It's really baffling how they don't have a push system in place for consoles on standby. We know that they can push stuff to the console due to our ability to remotely buy and download games. I'm curious as to why they don't apply that to updates.

Not really folders but now only the 15 most recent/used applications will be shown on the UI, the rest will go into the library folder which will feature new ways of sorting, also we'll be able to just activate PS+ game putting them in the library without actually downloading them.

Yeah I agree, im not too fussed with the lack of notifications considering the increase in the friends list.

I will say though, the only notifications I want overall are:

Received a message
Friend posted a video
Invited to a party

That’s about it really, and then the friends posting videos would be the main one I want it for.

They implemented an hour (or two?) timer that will stop the stream to prevent continuous streaming for other players without the game or the host having to be there...

But, the host can just reinitiate stream.
