They've actually acknowledged Toro quite a bit in recent years, so i'm not sure that they'd make his theme exclusive to Japan.

The catch is that it's dependent on the internet of two users. The upload speed of the host and the download speed of the share play user.
Even if the service works as advertised, I forsee many people proclaiming it "shit" because of Internet issues.

Honestly the Youtube App is the thing I'm most excited for. Sometimes I want to take a break from a game and watch a vid or two and I don't want to turn on one of the other systems just do do this.

I use Plex and it's passable but I don't get 5.1 out of this setup. Hence I want DLNA or at the very least video support.

If they send out a push notification when the update goes live, you literally have millions of PS4s all hammering the server at once; they'd just DDoS themselves. You could send out push notifications in phases, but who gets to go first?
Polling eliminates those issues. Let the casual users grab it later that night while they're sleeping. That already breaks up the vast majority of the server load in to 24, manageable chunks. If someone is in tune and eager to get the new hotness, they can just download it manually; it's not like they really need a push notification anyway.

Should have been using Youtube.com/tv in the PS4 browser man. Search and find the videos on your phone/tablet and then they just play automatically on your TV.

yeah more options are nice. But Plex added 5.1 audio support back in 2013 from what I have read. could be something else weird going on. Are you using HDMI or optical for audio? Ive heard people say in this thread that HDMI 5.1 doesnt work or is bugged on PS4. I use optical though. Though I havent used Plex on PS4.

Do we KNOW for a fact that the USB player enables custom soundtrack in-game? I ask since they never mention that in the promo videos for the update. They only show you playing music while the player is open.

You'll open it in the PS4 browser and it will say "not supported" but you wait about 5 seconds and it switches to HTML5.

App will run in the background, just like how music unlimited does. So you can play whatever you want while listening to it.
