Nobody. updates usually go live between 1-2am for the UK.

also they talk about hard drive music. it seems like sony is reluctant to let us play music from hard drive.
It said in the article they wanted a music player out as soon as possible so they can take their time working on potentially doing that. It doesn't come off as reluctant at all.

well it is nice that you can take a pic or use a pic on your phone/tablet...and upload it for your profile, through the PlayStation APP.
I wonder if down the road, if let you do the same for a custom wallpaper.

I'm with you, but I still haven't found the option to disable auto-update.
Any idea where this is?
Same, also most of the times if they go online while i'm playing i get the party pop up telling me X friend joined a chat. It's actually hard to miss when my friends are online.

you can copy data save to and from USB? i think that it was available even before, right? There was just some misunderstanding but anyway they confirmed that people will be able to upload edit files.
As much as I understand, images dont work but saved data does.
their downloads are hosted on specialized download services, separate from PSN.
Rollout has to be same time since they will require it for online play, as always.

yea updates usually released at 10-11pm est in the past..
It was always around 3 or 4am on PS3

So I just noticed that Xbox has custom themes and there is even a subreddit for user created themes.
Are we not getting that or are we? If I'm not mistaken, we can't use custom backgrounds, right?

How is it nonsense? It makes sense given the context because it gives future users an incentive to get a PS4, with more things to come, rather than blowing their wad by releasing 10 years worth of updates on one day and never updating again. I asked because I was unsure and that made sense to me.

So, Basically we change colours or use one of the 2-4 themes, and then buy the rest. Super annoying considering that this is the second time Sony is limiting something that the PS3 allowed (Music being the other one).
I am guessing there is actually no good reason for this, other than to force theme purchases.

Nope.
Just because PS3 had something doesn't mean PS4 can automagically have the same features. It's an all new OS and they don't have unlimited resources to add everything PS3 had. There are quite a few features PS4 has that PS3 didn't. It's just a matter of what Sony thinks are the priorities and custom themes aren't one. Also, Sony adding MP3 support proves they can add free alternatives even if they first try to monetize shit, so custom themes are still a real possibility down the line, even if for now themes aren't all free.
