Major PS4 System Software Update v2.0 Available NOW

I thought a perk of ps plus was automatic download and installation of updates. Why is mine not doing that? Is that a setting I have to enable?

At this point, and making the assumption that the issue is load, it's entirely plausible that the problem is with the Google servers struggling to deal with the amount of accounts simultaneously trying to link/authenticate.

Given that the sign in process involves launching the web page for Google sign in I'm not convinced this particular transaction is going through the Sony servers at all.

Yeah, it's under settings > system > automatic downloads I believe. You'll also need to make sure that the PS4 is configured to remain connected to the internet when in rest mode.
 
Dunno what they were thinking with the destiny theme, the background makes the text practically unreadable for me. At least change the color of the font so it pops against the background.

Also, I haven't been able to play Destiny for a week due to constant kick-outs. I don't even want to see or hear that Destiny theme >:-(

So? It's been almost a year and I can't sign in to YouTube? Granted the app hasn't been in development for the whole time, but this isn't the first time PSN or some online component of some PS4 software has been broken from day 1. 3 weeks later and DriveClub is still broken. Just wow...
 
So you can't press down on games anymore to get more info about it and get the splash screen? What the hell, why would they remove that? I liked having all the content/info for a game in one spot..

edit. nvm, it's working now. After a couple restarts.. weird

So, you want to choose to ignore the differences in the examples given in the post I quoted I guess.

There are three up (spiral, rectangle and picture... something) but the Destiny/CoD ones don't seem to be up yet. Probably will go up with the store update tomorrow assuming they're coming at all.

Huh? I updated to 2.0 this morning and was browsing around, my games still had that functionality

That's weird. I wonder if it's a bug? I can't see why else they would remove all that stuff.

Yeah, or the ability to hide stuff that's not installed (like iTunes allows you to "hide music in the cloud"). At least it dumps that stuff to the bottom anyway (at least with the view changes to recently played), which is something. :/

Those sections are completely dependent on PSN. If PSN is down and/or wonky, the extra game info screens are the first things to disappear.

The stuff in the Library that lingers are so annoying, especially old things you've long since deleted which hang around like ghosts. Who ever designed that needs to be smacked.

Same problem. Had to hold the power button down to turn off, then the PS4 restarted with a "Checking System Storage Status" message, now it's telling me I turned it off improperly. So I guess Rest Mode is useless.

It's as if it's the PS4 version of the download list instead of just being what is currently installed. The old demos and betas staying on there just clutters it.
 
Loving the paper theme, had to reacquire my licenses though to get everything up and running. Always something when it comes to a psn update/maintenance.
 
Reverted to default theme again since the new ones I tried had an issue not showing the game details section(when pushing down on the game tabs). Prob will be fixed eventually.

That's not a theme issue. It's just happening periodically with people, default theme or no. Happened to me earlier with the default theme then just stopped suddenly.

I was really hoping Green would be a vibrant Green equivalent of the Blue theme, rather than the washed out wispy Green we got. :/

Edit: Also anyone notice that the dynamic themes fade back into the Flow theme if you leave it idle long enough? Kind of weird.
 
Was the feature added whereby we can add PS Plus free games to our library now without actually having to 'checkout' or download each title?

Apparently an Add to Library button is supposed to show up on the PS Store for applicable titles? I don't see it for this month's freebies.

my ps4 automatically downloaded it today. It seems safe to me, you just might not be able to put your ps4 in Stand by mode for now. I'm going to completely cut the power off until they give us a stability update.

Has anyone been able to sign into their youtube account on the ps4 yet?
