Before the update I had noticed a strange issue with using YouTube/tv via the browser.
If I loaded up YouTube the background and the videos themselves look slightly pale and washed out, similar to the effect of messing up the HDMI black settings but maybe not as extreme.
If I then used the PS button to jump out of the browser and loaded up something such as the streaming page for watching Ustream and Twitch, and then pressed the PS button again to jump back out to the home screen and then jump back into the browser YouTube would no longer looked washed out and normal contrast would appear restored.
Has anyone else noticed this and can anyone tell me if the YouTube app appears to have this washed out look.

This shareplay is brilliant. Me and a friend spent 3 hours last night playing a co-op NHL GM mode career and he doesn't even have the game. I was the one hosting so didn't get to experience what it was like from the other end, but he said it was fine and there was no lag. Had great fun!
Everything you've stated is how it has always been with my PS4 as well. Haven't used the App though, besides trying to sign in.

Not sure if this has been discussed but my Sony golds seemed to play up on the dashboard. My mic was picking up ambient sounds from around my flat and outside and playing it through my headset along with the music too. Was very strange. I think it's something to do with the new voice commands

Im not sure if this has happened to anyone yet (didn't read the entire thread)... but wanted to give a heads up that ever since i've installed this update... my PS4 doesn't come out of rest mode. I had to unplug my ps4 and lose my drive club save file in the progress.

Yeah i just downloaded all the themes they had using my american account and they work fine on my uk one.
The features matter to other people.

Well I can't log in to my YouTube account (Grr) but the main interface of the app seems to have properly displayed contrast levels, so that's promising.

A modern ui allows you to customize applications you wish to see/ organize folders on your desktop/home screen.
My iOS/android/windows devices are uncluttered and display only those applications I wish to see, or organised into discreet folders.
Why is a games console UI exempt from basic user design principles ?

I won't be able to update the FW until friday, but I have some questions that I couldn't find anywhere.
- Can you combine themes with the default wallpaper?. With PS3 you can use one theme (that changes the icons aspect) keeping the default background.
Is this possible with the FW 2.0?
I've heard that the themes changes the ambient sound for the menu. I like this a lot, but I don't like the spiral/cube/boat wallpapers. I would like to combine the default background (changing the colour) with the new themes.

I wish. My ps3 has a background I like but uses the icon set from a nice theme I found. I can't find any way to change the background on the ps4 while retaining custom theme sounds/colors/icons.
I think you guys are misreading his post. He's fine with the features existing. All he wants is the ability to hide them so they're not there on HIS personal UI.
I love and use ShareFactory, but I don't use it often enough that it needs to be on my supposedly "most recently used" games/apps at all times. And I certainly wish I could get rid of Music Unlimited and other such apps from appearing where I can always see them.

Well thats good for you and all but I actually use my PS4 for Internet about 10 to 1 over my computer.
Internet probably 3 to 1 over games.

-themes are ok , but not very beautiful. and going in setting put back the normal theme until homescreen again.
-Youtube app : cant chose HD/SD and seems totaly random (wired 300mb connection, avenger 2 trailer is SD , while a vevo song is HD after few second)
-youtube : cant connect to my account (is it a bug because of 2 step verification?)
-Share play : couldnt try yet....
-pause/ resume : finally

For two step verification, does youtube use the one-time app passwords that Google can generate?
No, it fires up a browser page so you can use the code from the app. It seemed to be working (i.e. authentication itself worked), but the final connection when I assume it links account failed for me when I tried it last night (haven't been able to try this morning).

They should add that option. Hope they fix sign in / sign out problem with YouTube soon.

Couldn't agree more. I don't get why I can't remove the apps from the system.
It's cool they push them to all users, so you can keep them if you want. But giving me the option to make them go away is much needed.

Why not please everybody? And have the option in there to customize this?
same goes for lots of things though - you can't delete apps that are preloaded in the OS on xbox, Vita, ios, Windows phone either (not sure about android but I'd expect the same)
It would be nice to hide them, but on ios I put them on the last page and ignore them, same with vita. On PS4 if you don't use them, they'll disappear off the 15 most recent pretty quickly.

YT is random in general (I mean any device), depends if the clip is popular and on many servers. It should get to HD in a few seconds with your connection. I have the same thing with Netflix (using VPN), takes time to stabilize transfer. Yes, a selector would be great. It completely sucks that you can't even set HD forever in your account.
It asked me 2 times to agree for PSN -> Google access then I don't have any problems again, logged into my account, subs and history work, control from phone/tablet too.
I have a problem with this. I tried Driveclub with my friend, worked great, then Tomb Raider: DE and he got a message that it's region locked. Both games were bought through US account and run from EU account. I see some people report the same problem. Are different games locked/unlocked? We'd need some confirmation/list from publishers.
Yup, I just uploaded this for testing. Yesterday it took me 3 attempts.
Some Android UIs allow you to hide apps. Great feature of HTC Sense.

Yeah, it's completely borked.
Every time I put the damn thing into Rest Mode the PS4 simply refuses to wake up again.
I can connect a controller and the Wireless Headset is sending a signal to the console, but no picture is output to the TV and the lightbar on the console simply "throbs" whilst still orange.
Seems like this is only affecting a few people though?
Yep it's exactly the same on Android. I don't want all of Google's six (!) different Play store fronts on my phone but it's not possible to remove them without rooting it.
Had this issue, but after dB rebuild it is back to normal
Tried rest mode yesterday - rested, woke up without fault. Could be a dozen things which affect it from one PS4 to another. Some people mentioned it was quicker at waking up - but I did not get that impression :/

I don't know, are there many people that aren't having any issues? Obviously people who aren't having issues aren't going to be complaining about it.
I only put my PS4 into Rest Mode once since the update, had the issue but left it overnight before power cycling it as I though it may have been a PSN issue though the issue was still there in the morning (and the DS4 that I tried to power it on with completely dead as it just stayed powered on). Just going to keep fully powering it off until 2.01 or whatever fixes it. First time I am eagerly awaiting a stability patch!

Man, what a cluster fuck PSN was yesterday with this new release. I could not for the life of me get a PM sent, voice chat crashed on joining parties and I was getting booted off of the destiny servers every 2 minutes.

Same thing happened me but just go to notifications then uploads and restart upload and it worked fine
Yea, I got that same message when my friend was trying to Share Play Surgeon Simulator. We're both in North America, but that game didn't work. Maybe devs/publishers can choose whether or not to make their game compatible with it?
If someone has Surgeon Simulator, could you please try it with a friend?
