Well now I have to retract my statement. It happened tonight. Blinking orange, like everyone said. I just immediately did the long press shutdown and watch it go through the whole recovery / improper shutdown warning.

probably mentioned a million times already but for people with the rest mode problem: when shutting down your PS4 use the "turn off" option rather than the "enter rest" option. After that if you boot up your PS4 later and start using rest mode it doesn't seem to cause any problems.

Wait, really? Is this confirmed? Well either way, I'll do a full shutdown tonight and look for news tomorrow on this.

Like I said on previous page I get blinking light if I have a disc in when I go to rest mode, and it seems to work properly if I remove any discs.

Heres what i noticed, not definitive proof or anything but i figured its best to share:

The upload wont work if you try to upload to a YT channel that isnt linked to Google+. It will also fail if you have a failed upload in the queue, unlink the account and switch to another and then try to upload (even if its a different video, you need to delete the upload from the queue with options>delete)... Its a mess.

I tried three times linking and unlinking the G+ linked account and my regular YT account and each time I was able to upload on the G+ account but not on the YT only account.

Kind of. I got them through the theme ps4 settings screen and then when I went back to them they were locked. I then went to the web store and hit download and they unlocked

Can confirm that this is true. When I updated it (even before seeing the solution), I completely turned off the PS4 and the next time I booted up and went into rest mode, got the OLoF (Orange Light of Freezing).

It didn't happen, however, the next time I got it into rest mode.

I finally got mine to link tonight (I have a main account and a second channel under that one), but now I get WS-37313-7 errors if I try to upload anything.

I have a main account, a second account with my real name and a third thats uses the same username as my main account. Thing is, I don't remember ever creating the other accounts and I can't figure out how to delete them because I certainly don't need them.

This YT solution works but it's bad for people with a Youtube channel.

The thing is.

If we go here with your new account, we'll see this permission.

And can upload videos.

With my principal account this permission doesn't exist and I think thats the problem.

So if you have more than just your default youtube channel it causes problems? Because I created a youtube channel off my main Google account just for PSN stuff and can't upload (although I did sync the account to it and Google did let me select which channel to use)

And I thoughht all youtube channels have G+ associate with them now?

Go back to PS4, link to other services, and re-sign in and you should see a access grant list, approve it.

Upload and Youtube Access will now work.

Don't know if this came up before but my PS4 just froze on the warning screen. I was able to eject the disc and shut it down by holding the power button. It checked the data system and rebooted fine but c'mon, this never happened pre 2.0. Anyone had a similar problem?

This is more related to the updated PSN app - but did anyone notice you can email/SMS friend requests now and create a link to share (which seems ideal if you want to get spammed to the ends of the earth and back).

But I can't seem to find how to send an actual PSN friend request.

I'm a little curies about how long some of you are waiting before trying to restart your ps4?
It should show the orange line when shutting down, and while that's happening you can't restart the console.
I'm not saying people aren't having problems, but I have put my console in to rest mode the last couple of days with out a hitch.

@PlaystationEU has acknowledged an issue, engineers are checking it out....

i had no problem with "rest mode"
untill i realised that my videos i wanted to share weren't uploaded on facebook.

So i went on "power save" setting and enabled the connect to internet during rest mode

And then my problems started when rest mode bugued , my ps4 was very hot , too hot than usual , i think that's where my issue is , since after letting it cool down it started properly .

Today, Reddit user "wanderjahr" seems to have found a permanent workaroud for nasty "Rest Mode" Bug in PlayStation 4. According to wanderjahr, to fix this issue all PS4 owners need to do is change "Supply Power to USB Ports" option to "Always" from Setting Menu. Here is the steps you need to follow:

"[Settings]>[Power Save Settings]>[Set Functions Available in Rest Mode]>[Supply Power to USB Ports]>[Always]"

I also notice that you can only login on YouTube app with your "real account" (that with email) if you try login with my real Youtube channel a error jumps...
Browser never ask for PSN permission when you login with the "secondary" channel.

For those unsure, to link YouTube in PS4 its Settings > PSN > Link with Other Services.

Nope, rest mode still freezes up for me. Locks up about half the time.

That's after multiple full shut downs (I'm avoiding rest mode except to test potential fixes).

I've even rebuilt my database, just to be sure.

Turn off the console via the menu, unplug from the wall for a minute, reboot. That seemed to fix my issues.

Ditto. I keep popping in here to see if there's any suggestions that work. So far...nada.

I'm suspecting we'll get an update that will fix the issue eventually. Til then..full shut downs. Stinks..because it means I have to leave the PS4 "up" to charge my controller(s).

poster above you said that's his set up. But this has been the most successful of all the workarounds for me. And yes plug your DS4 via USB cable.

Just tried it that way. Unplugged USB, connected controller, plugged USB in, put in rest mode with THAT controller...

Hung the first time.



Seems different things have worked for different people..but no solution seems to work for everyone, all the time.

It took me a minute to figure that out too. You just have to use the search function, go to their profile, and add them from there.

It would make more sense if they had it under the Friends Request tab.
