Majora's Mask New 3DS LE does not include game or Adapter in USA

Why do people keep bringing this up? That does not make it acceptable.

When people are specifically cursing NoA for it and not Nintendo as a whole it comes off as silly to me. Not to mention that if this stink was bought up when it first started to happen years ago them perhaps it would not have stick around. Fact of the mater is its the last region that is the hold out to the practice is being the loudest about it. Also its a $10 charge to people that are likely already getting $100 off the system with the trade deal.

What the hell do you do if this is your first 3DS? "You wanna CHARGE your gaming device? Fuck you. Sincerely, Nintendo." How can they just assume everyone already owns a compatible charger? I doubt most people are aware of this. Everything else that needs to be charged comes with a charger, that's just common sense (ok, something like a DS4 doesn't, but you get one with the PS4, so).

what if I want to use a ds4 for my pc only and dont own a ps4?

No power supply, no game bundled, limited supply at Gamestop only in is enough to kill the deal for me. This feels like Nintendo is taking advantage of their obsessive collector users to the extreme...kinda like Amiibos. I don't think this pro-scalper strategy is healthy for Nintendo as it excludes the majority of Nintendo fans. Be cool Nintendo!

Spend less than $10 for one?

Yeah I hate that it doesn't come with an AC adapter but holy shit people are losing it a bit too much. No game included is whatever since it's just a special edition of the console itself.

The USB is different. It's not a proprietary charger. It's a micro usb that most households have tons of. The 3DS uses a proprietary charger. It's not the same.

Yes, it's a relatively cheap fix to get your own charger and yes, most people will already have one.

Still, there are a significant number of people out there who won't know about this - people will buy their kids new handhelds and they'll only be able to play them for a few hours before the battery dies and they can't play anymore until they make another trip to the store. The only reason not to pack it in is to milk another $10 out of consumers which makes it kind of a jerk move. Both sides have a point, both sides are overreacting... But this is the internet so... carry on.

So the EU version of the MM3D New 3DS XL (wow, that's a long name) comes with MM3D, right? But the NoA version doesn't? What's the price difference?

......It doesn't even have the game pre-installed like the EU bundle :l? Oh Nintendo, you greedy bastards XD!

Still, for anyone who wants a N3DS....the MM one does look nice, so it isn't a bad deal. Sure you have to buy another power adapter if you are trading in your current 2DS/3DS/3DSXL toward it but you still get it for half/partly half the price you would normally at least :).

I can understand the anger about the cable, regardless of how cheap it is, but the game not being included seems like a bonus to me. I wish I had that choice for the MH4 bundle since I'd rather have a physical copy. If the price were more that would be one thing, but it is apparently priced the same as the regular new 3ds. Options are good.

Honestly I am ok with the game not being included because I already have the LE. Plus, I would have to pay $30 more dollars. The adapter is BS though.

People will buy it anyway, that's the most sickening part.

Simmer down, soldier. Many of us were planning on upgrading to a new 3DS anyway regardless of what's on the cover. The fact that Nintendo didn't include a charger (or a game in the bundle) is their business. What do we do, not buy a new 3DS to "send Nintendo a message"? When have they ever listened to reality, much less its customers? I can't tell if this thread is full of salt or what but its full of posts that are borderline childish.

what if I want to use a ds4 for my pc only and dont own a ps4?

That's not even an "official" use case. Also, it's a micro-USB cable. Who doesn't have one or a whole bunch of those these days? Every single modern non-Apple phone uses them, as do tons of other things.

The 3DS charger is proprietary, and I'd say charging your 3DS is something you're expected to do. If you want to use the damn thing, I mean.

If I throw $10 in the air, does one magically appear? Not everyone lives right next to a store that sells these. What if I was looking forward to playing all night, but wasn't aware the 3DS doesn't actually come with everything required to use it? I mean, imagine if the PS4 didn't come with a power cord. Ridiculous.

(I guess it probably comes with some charge, but that's not really relevant.)

It's priced the same as the normal models, I don't see why anyone would think there is a game with it

Ah, there it is. So the game not being included is really inconsequential, no? Like the above poster said, a lot of people will want the MM3DS AND the Limited Edition MM3D game, so to include the game with the system would force those people to double dip. Thread title is a little mis-leading and sensationalized.

Other countries getting fucked over on the adapter doesn't mean I'll support this nonsense. Eat a dick Nintendo, I'll be buying your shit used.

What's this, then? Is Gamestop offering a hundred dollar trade in to upgrade your old XL to a new XL?...

If anyone on here has done this - how do you get your info from the old system to the new system and still get the trade-in? Does Gamestop allow you to trade the old system in later?

And have it come with a cheap third party adapter that could burn your house down. That'll show 'em

I was going to get a New 3DS XL anyway. I have a charger and never trade my consoles in. It's a cool 3DS, I'll be getting it. It'll match my Zelda Wii U.

The lack of the game bothers me more, but the price is the same as a regular one as far as I can tell, so at least now I'll have a Majora's Mask box.

You can pre order in store right now
The Zelda system is on a pay all at once though

I expected no Zelda game since it can sell on its own , why bundle it when you can sell it for $40
It sucks but oh well

Yea let's stop complaining about how 1 thing we are supposed to get standard vs another thing that we should get for some reason, for free?

Yeah I dont get this. The system wouldnt cost 199, it would cost 239. Its not like youd get the game for free. None of the other 3ds bundles, to my knowledge, gave you the game at no extra cost..

Are you planning to get the N3DS buy throwing your money up in the air? You already know this information. Plan ahead and buy an adapter.

Why can't Nintendo include it if it only cost $1.54?

Because they'll make more profit when people buy one at retail when they are surprised by it and aren't going to wait to get one shipped. It's not about cost really, it's about milking more profit.

Oh no, because I can not possibly get the official version that Nintendo is only selling separately.
Whatever though, my interest in Nintendo is limited to their Zelda titles these days and I have no problem waiting for a portable OoT and MM. That should free up some time and money for PS4/X1.

And why are people defending this thing?

Nah the info is right the in the package, let's not get ridiculous

It's marked on the box and if this was going to happen, it would be more likely to happen in the EU where they have been dealing with this shit for a while now.

It's clearly labeled on the front as not coming with the charger.

I like how so many NeoGAF users think they know what class action suits are really for.

What's deceptive exactly? Where does it say it includes something that it doesn't?

It's a consumer expectation based on essentially every chargeable device ever made. If there can be a class action for a game not doing something the publisher claimed, there will surely be a class action for something like this. That's not to say it wouldn't get tossed - but this is such a bizarre move when the adapters probably cost less than a dollar wholesale.
