I live in the UK, and always thought it was ridiculous that you don't get a charger with the XL. It's funny seeing them trying to do it other places.

It just seems like miserly penny pinching.

The Super New 3DS XL Slim Arcade Edition just came out. Pretty awesome. Just a shame it doesn't come with the second screen, buttons, controller port, USB port and stylus that the previous iteration of the system had.

Comparing UK prices to UK price £40 (same RRP as the game but you're forced to pay £40 rather than find it for £30-£35). Comparing $200 to £200*...over 50% more (though that is slightly unfair as the UK price includes the 20% tax)

*-I've not checked the bundle cost but my expectations are this ballpark.

Sorry, I meant what's the difference between a New 3DS and the New 3DS with MM3D pre-installed. Sounds like the difference is the cost of the game. I don't understand people getting upset over the American New 3DS not coming with MM3D bundled when it's priced appropriately. Now if the EU was getting the game packed in for free or something, then sure, we could be upset.
 
Been doing the no adapter thing in the EU since the 3ds shipped.

Seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen. Maybe it will go that way in the US
 
so uh, do you need an AC adapter when trading in your 3DS for the gamestop deal?

If I only have one charger, am I SOL if I trade in for the N3DSXL?

Sold out already ?! X_X I hope it doesn't go that fast when best buy puts theirs up. Hopefully even though it's online only, I can do send it to a store to pick it up. Sucks that it doesn't bring the game.
 
If this had a Micro USB port I wouldn't complain. Hell, the Kindle doesn't have one but they do give you a Micro USB cable. I can live with that.

This charger is proprietary (for some greedy reason of course). Its not the same case. When Jimmy gets his new 3DS he won't be able to charge it. Of course some here will say "Lulz should have read box and label" but most people just want to get that shiny new toy. And that will piss of people.

I get that it's a really shitty, cheap and clumsy move to not include a charger. Totally agreed.

But lawsuits? Fucking lol guys. There is no burden, requirement, law or anything else I'm aware of that means a product must include a charger in it's purchase or contents, especially when it says it's not included on the box. That is glue sniffing levels of madness.

How can people get this fired up? I mean, Nintendo have done this before. Amazon have done this also. While I agree the general assumption of consumers would be that it includes one, it is not unheard of at all, and is something we have to accept as an additional cost, just like Vita memory cards, online subscriptions and shiny new graphics cards.

Except it's just a charger lol, so the cheapest of all those things.

Are people really defending no adapter being included in the box?

Sorry this is my first 3DS. I now have to go out of my way to purchase a charging cable when it should be included.

It's an essential feature that should be included. The system won't function without one.

I'm baffle of this too but at the end of the day, I'll buy the new 3ds eventually.

No, but it came with composite cables. Those are shit, yeah, but you could still use your system. Most people didn't even have an HDTV in 2006. Now they're the standard, and the PS4 does come with an HDMI cable.

Why is everything Zelda-related fucking gold in NA. While it's shitty that the LE doesn't include the adapter or game, it doesn't matter in the end because the design is hideous. It should've been purple like the main colors of the game. For fuck's sake NoA.

I think it's great looking, and will fit in well with my other LE zelda 3DSs... I love that it's shared with the OoT 3DS

Amen. I would've jumped on it if it had been purple, but the gold looks really lackluster and doesn't fit Majora's Mask tremendously well.

Eh, saves me from throwing them my two hundred next month I guess. Maybe if I wait long enough they'll sort out their nonsense and at least package it with an ac adapter.

If I want to trade my 3DS for the n3DS, I have to do so with the charger. I am therefore left without a charger for the n3DS.
 
So...you can't charge your system period out of the box unless you make a separate purchase?

Imagine you're a kid. So Grandma buys you a 3DS for Xmas and you waste the batteries that night and you have to wait until Monday when stores open to get an adaptor? That's if your parents even give a shit.

Does it come with a USB to plug in or something?
 
In case it hasn't been mentioned, Gamestop has this thing called Web in Store where you can order online stuff in store, basic shipping is free and your trades can apply towards it. This option has always been there, for people complaining about not being able to trade.

Edit: Also Hah! My dilemma is I want the Monster Hunter limited edition but I don't want the digital version of the game and the extra cost associated with it.
 
I don't see any issues with this, you pay the price of the console to get the console, you want the game then you buy the game. So many people were happy when they announced the limited edition of Majora's Mask and this allows people to get the limited edition of the console and the limited edition of the game.
