Majora's Mask New 3DS LE does not include game or Adapter in USA

When you open it the dude would be upside down. That's my primary concern with all this.

There are gonna be so many return trips to the stores by parents 2-4 days after purchase. In America this is an incredibly idiotic move
Plus (as I said, at the end of the last page, oops) Nintendo's oh-so-fantastic supply chain will probably leave retailers high and dry for stock.

Yup.

Good point, I didn't even think of that. Also, as other posters have said, with Nintendo's current supply issues with apparently everything they produce, those return trips will be really fun (to watch).

It's for the best. The most effective way for this to not become a trend is for Nintendo to fall flat on its face. Sad but true.

Placed my best buy order! I'm a little annoyed though because their FAQ said they won't charge until it's shipped, but my bank account shows a $213 charge... and since I had $50 in my checking until I get paid tomorrow, I now have a balance of -$163... Thanks Best Buy.

Hopefully since I get paid within the next 6 hours, my bank doesn't bitch at me.

They do a hold because it's by warehouse apparently.

I was ambivalent earlier, but I now suspect that you may be right. IF Nintendo was just using a USB based solution, this wouldnt be an issue, just toss in a tiny cable and the lost box space is minor and universal. the AC adapter size varies in country and probably causes some supply chain churn, though it seems Apple has cared for this with creative box design.

I honestly wish the EU MM3D XL LE didn't come with the game. If you're getting both the XL LE and the Special Edition you're ending up with two games

The normal 3DS XL didn't come with a charger in the EU and now neither the New 3DS nor the New 3DS XL come with chargers. I don't see this causing Nintendo to fall flat on its face. The fact that the Majora's Mask LE sold out so quickly only supports this thought.

Oh they most definitely will not have enough AC adapters because they are idiots. Seriously, the only way to make sure there isn't an issue is to ship near 9 adapters for every 10 New 3DSs (after the initial rush) since at the end off the day most people who buy it will be new to the system.

When you open it, you'll be looking at the screen...playing a game. Only time you'll see the art is when it's closed.

:P

When it's closed, it'll be on a desk or a pocket or a bag. I think Apple got this right, they used to have it the Nintendo way, then flipped it so it's the right way up when open and facing out.

Apple does it so you can show off your MacBook.

Nintendo does it because it's a personal system, not a walking ad for the company.

I tried calling GameStop here in town. Same excuse they gave me about the LE. I don't care if I don't get it.

It's so annoying that they can make something so limited and you don't even get a charger. It's as if Nintendo wants to push 1,000+ 3DS consoles and that's it. I don't want to pay $350 for one either.

The console is just a Zelda stamp on the cover. I could add a sticker to a regular 3DS and do that design. I'd make one with grooves and sh*t and sell it for $1,000. Give it to Jimmy Fallon and Notch as a limited numbered run, right? I'm just not getting past the face plate. I've seen a couple of the Zelda 3DS models (regular editions) going for under $200.

I don't care for the game to be included, since the device is the same price as regular editions. No sweat.

But the lack of a charger (and especially the people DEFENDING it) is truly making my head spin. If Sony or Microsoft tried to pull off such a blatantly anti-consumer move, they'd be crucified for it.
Microsoft did try with the X1 headset. It was never meant to be a pack-in. Then they snuck it back in before release. The issue here is that there is no time for Nintendo to go back on the issue for the first wave, so hopefully for the second one they can figure something out.

I have like 5 DS/3DS Chargers around in my house... I don't know why this is so big issue to you. you can get it for very cheap. Look at ebay. Only $6 or less.

Grow up some balls!

Isn't it better to not include it if there is also a special edition of the game? The special Halo 3 Xbox 360 did not include Halo 3, but it sort of made sense since there was three versions of Halo 3 ($60, $80, and $120).

Majora's Mask has a special edition that comes with a statue. I guess they could have bundled game, special N3DS, and statue together, but then there would be people complaining they are forced to buy a dumb statue when they just want a cool 3DS.

The missing AC adapter for the N3DS is weird, but it doesn't seem like that big of a deal. Nintendo sells the adapter for $10 new and $5 refurbished on their website. Gamestop sells a third party version on their website doe $10. This means there is a hidden $5-20 price hike on the N3DS unless you already have access to a charger.

Overall this is not as bad as some of you make it. Also you are safe from Nintendo ripping you off since it seems to be sold out everywhere already.

I couldn't resist making this...

I guess this could be why it is sold out though. lolol.

Oh, you have five? Well then, problem solved for everyone I guess! Man, the "I got mine" attitude is strong among some of you...

No, it's not difficult or expensive to get one, but that's not the point. The issue is the very idea of selling a games console without an essential component required for it to be functional.

That and when you put the device into the charging dock it will be also upside down. Full of fails lol.

What? Are the XL charging docks reverse of OG? On my charging dock it should be right side up.

This would look ridiculous done upside down, it's perfect the way it is.

This special edition is for the user.

Apples Apple is designed to be an ad for people walking into a library, or Starbucks, or Panera bread. It's a mindshare thing. Just like the apple bumper stickers.

The MM Edition is for fans.

Seeing like 4-5x as many 3DSs up on craigslist already with most of them being posted yesterday lol.

Most are "$150 obo" which isn't looking good for me trying to get any value out of mine after picking up the n3DS at launch. Was hoping $120 which doesn't seem very likely now.
