Cool guy, completely atypical movie star. Searched his previous roles (before LOTR) and was surprised to see the number of very decent movies he was apart of. To name a couple, he was the tactical officer in Crimson Tide (who refused to arm the nukes), and the master chief in G.I Jane.

Post LOTR, was awesome in A History of Violence.
