And if this is indeed the case (tampered tallies), Trump could use it as an opportunity to claim full power and eliminate elections. If Mueller and the Congressional investigators know the election has been tampered with, they are probably very serious about making sure this doesn't hit the news until the know of a way to minimize a coup.

Well, there's a pretty big impediment to that, in that roughly 60% of the country ABSOLUTELY HATES Donald Trump. People have been comparing him to Hitler throughout the entirety of his campaign. If he did some actual Hitler shit like that, you would have revolution in the streets. People can only claim absolute power with an abundance of popular support or general acceptance, and the vast majority of the country would never support Trump suspending elections. That's an insane fantasy.

Mueller investigating Trump for obstruction of justice has been known for a long time now. Since shortly after Mueller was tapped for special counsel.
Trump even responded to the news with tweets about how this was now "the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history".

And if you read that article, his biggest contact was the unsolicited one from the Trump campaign asking him if he could authenticate supposed Hillary e-mails offered by an unnamed "dark web" source. And yes, they provided him with fucking campaign documents and even listed him as a consultant even after he refused to help, or even sign a NDA.
