thx to Wario who is a h0

9.0 Presentation
The DS design sticks exclusively with the system's two screen functionality and leaves everything else about the handheld alone.
8.0 Graphics
The visual style of the GBA game stays the same on the DS, with very little in the way of whiz-bang effects. The character animation is done well, and always brings a chuckle.
8.5 Sound
Mario and Luigi intentionally speak gibberish, but it works well with the story. The game's soundtrack fits the Marioesque theme with original pieces and remixed classics.
9.0 Gameplay
Fun, amusing, and lengthy adventure that starts out easy but curves up nicely in difficulty and challenge without going too hard.
9.0 Lasting Appeal
You'll be spending twenty hours plus in this meaty single player adventure. Time well spent.
9.0
Outstanding OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

This game is *awesome*. I'm going to post some kind of something or another to Game|Life at some point, but I wanted to finish playing it first. Leslie/Bill/Nate/Tim outdid themselves with the script.

BACK TO ADVENTURE!

No negatives listed. :O

But the second screen is used in such a degree that the game wouldn't be the same without it, which essentially means that without the Nintendo DS, Partners in Time just wouldn't be the same.

interesting bit of deductive logic.

BTW:

That screen > joo

And my most anticipated game from Nintendo this holiday season delivers :) Mine tomorrow.

BACK TO ADVENTURE!

Better writing than the original?

Seriously, I need to jump on the DS bandwagon, with all of these titles i'm missing i'll be busy for months when I finally get one!

Please tell me Fawful is in this game... PLEASE!

Oh and the dialogue was the best part about Mario and Luigi and if it's even better in M&L2 then I'm so sold!

How's the encounter rate? I know you can see the enemies on the screen, but I hardly got naywhere in the first game because I got to this like...field area where I didn't know where to go so I had to look around but every few steps some damn enemy would pop up and I couldn't avoid them. So I quit.

If it's more like Paper Mario though, I'm sure I'll love it.

So far he only plays a bit part, but he's there.

But right off the bat, there's a new character who's written even better. What would, in other games, be boring throwaway lines become little pockets of hilarity in M&L.

What *is* the second screen used for?

I haven't kept close tabs on this game, but as far as I remember, you'll have instances where adult Mario and Luigi will be in the bottom screen and baby Mario and Luigi will be in the top screen and you'll need to use both sets to advance. Not sure if this helps but it should be something like this

Mario and Luigi 2 DS has been my most anticipated DS game besides Castlevania DS, so I'm instantly sold on this. I'm happy to hear it come through, EGM had positive words for it too.

Why couldn't this game come to Xbox 360

Woohoo! Way too many good DS games these last few months of the year; makes it tough for poor people like me to keep up. :p

Between this, Mario Tennis Power Tour, and Final Fantasy IV, I'm a happy RPG fan.

Actually, scratch that. Between this, Mario Tennis, FFIV, Dr. Mario/Puzzle League, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, and possibly Castlevania if you're willing to count games that far back, I'm a happy Nintendo portable fan period. Add in Sonic Rush, Viewtiful Joe, and Phoenix Wright for people with different tastes and I'd imagine a lot of other gamers are too.

And after looking at Craig give exact 9.0 scores for Mario and Luigi, Sonic Rush, Advance Wars DS, Meteos, and Kirby: CC, why doesn't IGNDS just give up the 100-point system (decimal increments of 0.1) and switch to a 20-point system (increments of 0.5) instead?

Man, I wish this had come out, like, this summer. It's gonna be awesome, but I'm swamped with games right now. I'm an old man -- I can't play Mario Kart and Castlevania and Fire Emblem AND this!

Bah, I've no time for this! I'm knee deep in DQ8 and I've got a ton of work to do for classes. Where can I find time man? I just can't.

Had I the cash I would be importing this right now.
It's a good thing I don't have the cash because I'm busy with MK and DQ8 right now, and soon Animal Crossing, and then there's Sonic Rush coming out in a couple of days... I think I'm going to sell one of my consoles so that I can afford games to play on the DS, it's not like I play them anymore. :D

Still need to buy and play the first on Micro.
i was playing M&L:SS on my micro again before I got a DS the other week (MK: DS and Kirby:CC own me). It's such a fun and simple game and the awesome micro screen really shows off the colours, art style and superb animation.

This new one is a definite buy for me now.

Play it during lectures. You know you'll fall asleep otherwise.

The first one is one of my favorite GBA games so I will be picking this one up first chance I get today. I already have it paid off in full, it's just a matter of waiting for the Gamestop to receive my copy.

Writing better than the original? A character that's done better than Fawful? Damn, now I really can't wait for this. Reviews have been good as well.

Hey Kobun, you have anymore impressions written up yet? I need more info before if I want to rush and purchase it or wait.
