Mario Kart Arcade GP Pic

There is a camera just in the middle I think. I believe it because I am seeing the word "camera" in katakana on it.

Zuh? I thought the thread was pretty upbeat. We need more pics/details though.

Correction: We need details period. I think talk of a home version is premature, for one. All we know is that it has Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Toad and Mario as racers, appears to have some sort of camera (I have no idea what else that thing is) and looks pretty cool.

But I still think that DS Connection makes more sense than that of GC. It makes more sense, to me, as it makes it easier. Perhaps MKDS will release with a GBA cart that serves as a way to transfer data to the arcade version, for instance. I don't see them releasing a second GCN Mario Kart title this generation.

I guess it is...

MKDD+!
Single cart vs Multi Cart!
Choose your own character in net play!
5 whole battle levels!

We already know from the other thread that Mario Kart Arcade GP has Memory Card support.

I'd say that's a pretty huge tip-off that there's a home version also coming, aside from the obvious point that there's no arcade scene in the US/Europe, and this game would rake up huge sales on the GameCube.

Awesome news indeed. Mario Kart rocks. In the screens, look closely at the very bottom left hand corner. Now, I don't know what to make of it for sure, but doesn't it look like a traditional "coin" icon? It might not be, but if it is that'd suggest there's coins on the tracks to pick up again.

Hmm, now you can see that when you are affected by an item thrown at you from another player, you're picture reflects this as well, a la the swirls over the eyes of picture of the Donkey Kong player (not familar with a dizzy item in MK but I haven't played MK:DD).

Man, the avatars seemed so innocent; now they're soul-crushingly terrible looking.

I think this is one of those things that would be more fun if you knew the people involved or were playing yourself.

That being said, I hope this is optional in the home version, if it happens.

Coins? Item effects being seen on the avatar? That course in particular seems kind of lame, but this has potential.

Still think it's DS connection.

Thanks neo... With this running on the triforce and DD!! being one of the best sellers on the GC, any chance this will be on a home console?

Anybody know if the cabinet has anykind of movement or rumble. That red button could be the emergency stop button.

Either way, this looks great. The pics are distracting but damn, they're hilarious. Revolution Launch title with online play please.

Speculating here, but...

Mario Kart: Arcade (GCN)
- Game
- Steering Wheel
- $50, Christmas 2005

That'd be the only way I'd see them doing it...and maybe making more games that work with the steering wheel. I do not see another Mario Kart title being released for the GameCube except under these circumstances. With Mario Kart DS schedule to launch this fall, it only makes SENSE that the connection be with that title.

Im thinking the fire button is actually the center of the wheel. See how it is illuminated blue for one player, but the illumination is off for another player. I would bet a fair amount of 100 yen coins that it is either fire or boost.

This will get me into an arcade again... the only other games that have done that to me in the past few years are F-Zero AX and Taiko no Tatsujin. Bring it on!!

wow. that was fast. Talk about out of the blue. We heard rumblings last night/day and wham. Here it is.

NEED VIDEOS + MORE VARIETY IN SCREENS

Why can I see the polygon in Mario's hat? Is it meant to have somewhat sharp corners.

was going to ask if its from AOU but the thread link says it all.
