Mario Kart World screenshots thread 56k

it's more likely higher res ones don't even exist in the game data cause they're trying to pinch pennies on the cart size
Yeah, good point. It's only 22GB iirc.

But still, it's been a while (with he exception of Switch (1)) since I played a game where I couldn't even make out the text on a poster.

Just goes to show that "4K" by itself doesn't really mean much.

off, seeing this, makes me thinking, what possibilities in the future : ))
it's like jedi or ultra instinct racing style in steroid for hardcore players

It's when you find out the can also mid-air rebound on any object for even more boost and chain to more objects for more boost. This game will be meta by October no doubt.

It's probably not even a RAM issue, it's more likely higher res ones don't even exist in the game data cause they're trying to pinch pennies on the cart size and trying to make their miserly 200GB internal storage seem large and future proof.
This game started development on the original Switch, it being as open and streaming data as fast as it does is why the Switch couldn't handle it and it had to be moved to Switch 2. The low res textures could be from that point in development where it was a Switch 1 game.

Anywho

There's only one cart size for the Switch 2 (not counting game key cards), and it's 64 GB. The game isn't even half that size, so cartridge space was not a concern.

They only offer third parties 64GB, but my understanding was first party titles have access to different and even custom size carts.

Where did you hear this? This contradicts everything I've read. Plus, we know Mario Kart World is on a 64 GB cart, because people have opened it up and researched the serial numbers on the chip inside, so even if there are other cart sizes, they didn't use one for this game.
