Can anyone spoil me what that means?
My guess and someone correct me if I'm wrong.

The injecting of alien DNA into Coulson and then Skye. Also, I think it was mentioned that Skye is a "monster" and there's something around her dad about that. Not sure if that was meant literally or not, of course.

As for the members of the Inhumans:

Black Bolt: Their leader. Has a voice that can shatter mountains, so he never speaks.
Medusa: She has magic hair. Wife of Black Bolt.
Crystal: She's captain planet, but sadly is lacking in the power of heart.
Maximus: Black Bolt's crazy brother. He's a super genius. He's also completely insane.

As for the rest...
Goat foot guy: Uh he's strong and has goat feet.
Brain tattoo man: Can intuitively figure out the weakness of anyone or anything.
Fish man: He's a fish.
That sounds pretty cool. Just wish Marvel movies had more interesting vision than the bland MCU.

"What will I become?"

not just alien, Kree.

Vinny D. will be Black Bolt because it is the perfect excuse to cast him twice.

And I think he was always supposed to get a bigger role but he was too busy with F&F franchise. With that probably finishing with 7 or at least a break after 7, he has more time to do a full role. I think he would be a great BlackBolt. He doesn't even speak anyways so not sure why people think the casting should be different. Plus we finally get a bald lead. :D

So to whoever suggested son of m.... Is it related to house of m? I haven't read house of m yet, so will it spoil anything or will I know whats happening?

More importantly, he has presence like a motherfucker and his gravelly voice would be prefect for the few words BB says. Vin can act his ass off. Plus how long was it in Pitch Black before he even spoke?

The biggest road block IMO is, where's the audience's in? Black Bolt is the lead but also doesn't talk, and unless this is an origin story for how he becomes king, there's not much of an arc there to watch either.

Though it just occurred to me they could kill two birds with one stone and actually make Carol Danvers the lead, linking her to the Inhumans as both being Kree experiments. Maybe have her powers come from the Terrigen mists.

I would guess something along these lines: taking inspiration from Inhumanity, there are a small number of "lost" Inhumans living among humanity. One or more of them discover their powers and trace their heritage back to Attilan, getting caught in the intrigue of the royal family along the way.

Also, I still very much doubt that anything we've seen on Agents of SHIELD thus far has anything to do with Inhumans, and I continue to think that introducing terrigenesis as a concept independently of Attilan and the familiar characters is a terrible idea that can only dilute the importance of the latter.

Oh totally. I've been wanting a lead role for Vin in a Marvel movie since he started asking to play Vision. He would be awesome as Blackbolt and like you said, he has great presence and his voice would work so well.

We'll just say haters to the left.

Hmm would be cool if we could get an eventual World War Hulk/Planet Hulk movie set going now that a number of the Illuminati are popping up.

You mean to the right?
We're passing haters on the left ;)

I'm pretty sure he'll be a lead with Medusa but I'd have no problem with the other two being more focused on. Two female leads would be amazing.

I say that because I can see Marvel deciding that.

I thought it was always haters to the left? Especially since the Beyonce song is "to the left to the left" which is where I thought it originated from. xD

Well, I guess the question is whether the film is about humans meeting Inhumans for the first time or the reverse. If the latter, I suppose it could work, though it could come off as too similar to Thor.

It's related in that it stars Quicksilver in the aftermath of House of M.

It explains everything on the 1st page so yes it "spoils" HoM but there isn't that much to spoil since the only important thing is what Wanda does at the end.(which everyone has probably heard before)

I have never been a huge fan of the Inhumans but this is a fast way for them to beef up the number of redshirts in Avengers 3. Also if we ever get a World War Hulk movie they can be the first to die.

Everything interesting about Black Bolt either comes through Medusa or some kind of narration anyway, so I see no real reason to put him upfront ahead of the speaking characters, especially when the Inhumans are an ensemble. Medusa can be cold and calculating, Crystal can be the empathetic center, and Maximus is insane - that's a great dynamic already. In my mind Black Bolt would work kinda like the Hulk did in Avengers, with threat of him always looming over everyone's heads. Have everybody tip toeing around him until they leave him no choice but to yell at somebody.

Why would we want that terrible story arc in a movie though?

Yes! Black Bolt needs to be the constant threat everyone needs to navigate, both good guys and bad. Also, there needs to be a lot of Maximus. That dude's just the right kind of crazy to be massively entertaining.

I love the mutants from X-Men, more because of their characters than because of their stupid powers.
I liked that they were fighting against discrimination, I liked that that discrimination was the reason behind many of the villains, I liked how many of them were just trying to live their lives.

I haven't read about the inhumans in a while, last I read they were a race of super humans living on the moon. which never clicked for me. (I'm guessing that's changed now, because I hear that the new Ms. Marvel is somehow an inhuman)

so, are the inhumans cool now? are their storylines any good? anything I should check out?

They're in a transition period thing now in which a new status quo is being established. Their terrigen mists, the plot device that gives them their powers, got spread across the globe. This activated humans who had some Inhuman DNA due to their intermingling with normal humans across the ages. This has created a bunch of new Inhumans and that is only just playing out at the moment. The main series that was supposed to be covering this is only at issue 2 or so at the moment due to some internal conflicts at Marvel where they replaced the writer.

One of these "Lost Inhumans" is even carrying her own title right now:

It could be done like in Earth-X, where people initially don't know the source of the powers that started randomly appearing among people at all and part of the story is uncovering it, and then it gets tied to Black Bolt and co. Of course, it shouldn't be an actual Earth-X adaptation (there should still be people without powers, no older heroes and such). But I think that's easily the best way to push them as an important concept.

It's basically what Marvel is doing right now anyway, but I think the Inhumans in general should have even less ties to Attilan's royal family. They shouldn't be "lost descendants", just random people.

I have a question about Maximus:

He's part of the team right? He's just insane?

I've read a bit about blackbolt before but I want to actually pick up some issues and would like to know about Max.

don't really care what you say.

Then don't quote him and respond?

No need to be such a dick.

I don't know how this fits into the Infinity Gauntlet narrative going on unless the Inhumans have one of the Infinity Stones in their possession and it gets stolen....

Also: The Lego Marvel Super Heroes game is like the official predictor of the MCU. All of the Guardians are in it. Dr. Strange. Daredevil, Power Man, Iron Fist....oh and Black Bolt. I thought he was a bit obscure to be in it but here we are.

because every marvel doesn't need to go down in the same direction.

It doesn't have to be part of that narrative. None of the Iron Man films were. Winter Soldier wasn't. Age of Ultron won't be.

He's a member of the Inhuman royal family, brother to the king Black Bolt. They are usually at odds with each other over the throne.

I know nothing about the Inhumans. I knew nothing about the GotG also, and that movie turned out great. You have piqued my interest to a new franchise, Marvel. Well done.

Man, I wish I had the money to read all these comics. Don't know anything about the Inhumans or The Defenders.

Infinity showdown is definitely going to be beyond my imagination at this point. Probably has to be a trilogy or something.

I'm assuming you meant to say thread?

Anyway, I understand both sides. I'm personally going to wait and see what Marvel announces before I get upset but I actually think it's good people are speaking out. The more they hear people asking, the more likely they'll go through with it. It might annoy you but just ignore the posts because it's still something positive they're asking for and I don't think anyone should be shutting that down.

The only thing I'll disagree with is that I don't think this was the best thread to do this since it seems like the film will have two female leads plus a POC as a lead.

Thanks! I'm going to go pick up some issues. I've always been interested but with this announcement I really want to get some issues now.

No chance she is a deviant?

Well duh, it's how you write out your own illogical narrative

and don't blame me for the threads going a certain way when it's usually people like you trying to shut down the discussion by insuitating vindictive bs and framing things in a nastier tone than necessary

you should have taken the 99 cent Marvel Unlimited deal

Having humans being revealed as inhumans would be a good way of introducing the Inhuman side of Marvel to an audience that knows nothing about them.

The Inhuman's city was originally in the Himalayas
Wasn't it near Atlantis before that, and then Gorgon sunk it (under Black Bolt's orders) and ceded the surrounding land to Namor? All so they could fake their own demise.
