Alright, you guys got me into this. So now I have a question, because I'm trying to follow their story without getting too much into the bigger picture with many issues from other heroes.

So my question is: What comes right after Silent War?

I can't figure it out at the moment. The inhuman story in Secret Invasion seems to happen some time after. Where can I fill that gap?

i've asked that question hundreds of times in the comics thread and no one ever answers me

He didn’t upend the Marvel formula, but his personality flows through the picture. He was in tune with a group of oddball outsiders, and that made him the best man for the job.

I thought that was exactly the thing Marvel doesn't want from directors? Allegedly, that is why Patty Jenkins was fired from Thor 2, for adding her own flavor? There was a whole Variety article or something just recently about how the directors of Marvel movies are simply instruments in executing Marvel's vision and if you're not on board, then you're 86'd.

The vision is more flexible on some, less flexible on others.

I'd like to know this too, because Silent War (which I enjoyed) ended on a bit of a cliff hangar.

There is no real follow up to Silent War. The Inhumans story gets steered away by Secret Invasion and
Black Bolt being a Skrull
.

How the hell did BB(or the skrull pretending to be BB) get his kingdom back, hell when did BB get replaced by a skrull in the first place?

How they did deal with Maximus? And the whole thing he had with Medusa......

I need these answers man, goddamnit Marvel.

Ok guys, this is from Secret Invasion (SILENT WAR SPOILERS)

So I guess this is what comes between Silent War and Secret Invasion:

hell when did BB get replaced by a skrull in the first place?

That's shown in a flasback in the middle of Secret Invasion. Same page that pic is from.

Thanks. But it'd be nice if there was a proper continuation of that story. It's a shame they dropped that and opted for the crap "Secret Invasion" crossover.

I'm unfamiliar with the franchise, but I'll be damned if I'm not on board already.

Marvel has me by the balls. I really hope the popularity of superhero films doesn't fade anytime soon.

Just a idea but do you guys think they'll give Black Bolt some new power like telepathy just for the movie? Marvel has shown before that they'll make big changes for the movie versions such as heavily nerfing the power levels of many characters. Maybe they'll do the same thing here so Vin can actually get some lines and his character can communicate with the others in the movie, maybe?

Guardians of the Galaxy had Vin's voice, Inhumans will have his body.

I actually think Paul Walker is better fit for Black Bolt than Vin, Vin may looked more similar but Paul have such a menacing eyes and stare that I would like to see from Black Bolt's actor.

But.. :(

The idea of a character who can't speak without blowing up everything lends itself too spectacularly to hollywood-style cheese. I predict they'll let other characters do the talking, and we'll get no verbal communication at all from BB until it's time for him to drop a one-liner at the climax of the movie and obliterate whatever antagonist is unlucky enough to be standing in front of him.

Think about it. Think about every action movie hero that has ever dropped a one-liner like it had the power to save the world all by itself. They're being giftwrapped a hero who can literally kill the bad guy with his climactic one liner. They are going to do nothing to dilute that pristine bit of melodrama.

Super hyped! I'm going all in with the Marvel Cosmic universe after watching GotG, and I'm loving it all. Now I really want to see a Nova movie now too!

Based Marvel.

Black Bolt communicates through Medusa, they developed a sign language as kids when Black Bolt was locked up because of his voice.

VIN FOR BOLT 2014

you sound like a crazy person who read too many comics

I've never actually been a comic book guy, truth be told. It is legitimately irritating to see the issue that was being presented come up in every single possible Marvel-related thread, though. It chokes discussion. I don't feel like I overstepped there.

It better be of the same calibre as "What killed the dinosaurs? THE ICE AGE"

Looks like you already figured it out, but I JUST read this stuff within the last few days. It's

-Son of M
-Silent War
-Illuminati #5 (The final issue. The whole series jumps around to different significant episodes in Marvel history, but #5 is the one relevant to the Inhumans' mid 2000's arc.)
-Secret Invasion: Inhumans 1-4
-Secret Invasion: War of Kings one shot

...after that point they're all tied up in War of Kings. So you should probably then read a one shot called War of Kings Saga that provides a good recap of everything you need to know about all the various storylines leading up to War of Kings. Before moving on to WoK.

Or, you can just say hell with it and read the whole Cosmic Marvel saga:
