With the recent agreement between Activision and Marvel what type of rpgs would you all like to see? Personally, I would love to see something with Dr. Strange.

I'd like them to stick with the X-men Legends style of beat em up mixed with rpg elements, if only for the fact that turn based games bore me to death. So Legends style but "better" is fine. Just add more characters and improve the fighting system and I'm all set.

Now if you want a great comic label, then DC is where its at as they seem so down to earth an natural and aren't whoring themselves out left and right. This is why I'm so hoping both WIBE deliver and excellent Action RPG and SOE a MMO.

it? That's so fresh and original!;p
ManaByte said:I have boxes of X books and Spidey books from the 90's, but I won't buy Marvel comics these days (I'll still play the GOOD Marvel games like Hulk and Ultimate Spidey). He's right about them whoring out their characters. I remember picking up an issue of one of the X-Men books in the comic store in 2002 and noticing that they changed it to look like the movies, as if they are just using the books as a $2.99 ad for the movies. Then they went and gave Spidey organic webshooters in the comic, again changing the comics to fit their movie business. Blah.
citrus lump said:So you'd say the 90's are better then now? Yikes. I admit they haven't been kicking ass as of late, but it's not all bad.
And DC is capable of being just as silly. Look at all the crossing over going on right now.How anyone can afford all that just for the build-up for the big summer event is beyond me. I hear its mostly all good though so I digress.
Sorry for the thread derail. :lol
ManaByte said:The 90's had the bullshit of the stupid varient/foil/hologram/scratch & sniff cover stuff, but the characters still weren't being whored out and changed just to match some movie. The movies should match the comics, not the other way around.
As for crossovers, hell they aren't that bad. Right now Supes/WW are crossing over (there are three Supes books a month and one WW) and Batman is crossing over with himself with the main story jumping between Batman and Detective.
citrus lump said:What about all those tie ins with the whole Identity thing. Aren't omac project, thaangar war and a few others a part of all that? Of course it's not any different than the jillions of house of M stuff.
Yes, they are crossing over for Identity but it is one of those over reachng story lines akin to the Infinity Gauntlet story arc from over a decade ago. I think what Byte is saying is that Marvel would change their characters without any thought to who they really are.
As for a Dr. Strange game I think something like Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. Also, I think the Ultimates would be a good choice to do something like X Men Legends with.

How moronic.
I'd say they are just going to do the Legends treatment to other properties as its proven and we are talking about Activision here.
So name a group and add Legends to it.
That said, bring em on! X-Men Legends was the best fan service in years.![]()
