Marvel vs Capcom 2 unlocking confusion?

So I've been playing the game recently and the game has stopped offering me people to unlock with points and everything. But there are like 8 question marks and 3 other spaces I'm guessing characters are probably going to be.

Crazy thing is I SWEAR that I've seen some people to unlock there, but when I played the game to get enough points to unlock them, they were gone. Is there like a certain time or action I have to do so that these characters will appear? I still don't have Gambit or Akuma.

Depending on the version you're playing, you might need to invest some time with the characters you've not been using to unlock the others.

I do tend to stick to the same guys.

Wow that was easy. Play with the other kind of Wolverine and suddenly everyone's unlockable.

If the Xbox version of MvC 2 is anything similar to the DC and PS2 version....Just select the shop/secrets feature and then go back to the screen where you have to select an option (arcade, v.s., etc.), then go back to shop/secrets again (keep doing this until a new character appears).

Which characters are in your team LakeEarth?? I wish I knew how to play this game properly..:(

Well if you're talking about against the CPU, you need one guy that shoots a straight beam for a special. That means either Ryu, Cyclops, or overpowered Cable. Then pick people you like. Remember blocking is your friend when you face the final boss.

I really like Guile. An easy 23 hit combo is jump in fierce punch, then weak punch, forward strong punch and then do his hurricane sonic boom (quarter roll to forward and both punch buttons).

If you wanna learn how to combo people in the air, you do a launching manuver (usually down and fierce punch) and automatically press up-diagonal (towards the guy) to shoot up with the guy, and then press the buttons for added combos. Practice to figure out easy to pull off ones, or just check Gamefaqs.

The great thing about the Marvel vs Capcom series is that you can mash, do well, and have fun. It's actually my advice to not study the game too hard. Once you do, you see how it's broken and it stops being as fun. I just bought it cause it's fun and I felt guilty for having Marvel vs Capcom on my MAME for so long.

Yes. I am now a proud owner of all 56 characters. I just beat the game with a few different characters and they all popped up.

No way in hell I'm gonna unlock all the secondary costumes and stages. The game has only one mode (arcade and score attack are the same goddamn thing), no endings (though that might've been hard to do with 56 characters), and the final boss fight is unrewarding (unlike Onslaught from the first one, who would make you feel like you earned the win) so there's really no point to keep playing it. On top of that, the prices on the unlockables keep going up. It feels like a game I'm just going to pop in here and there to have fun with, that's all.

In essence, I wanna store my 2D fighting need for SF:AC for Xbox so I can actually be good, and that the online will keep it interesting and competitive.
