Beat Galactus on easy with Skrull, Wolverine and Iron Man. Game is a lot of fun and LOOKS FANTASTIC. I don't understand how anyone can hate on the visuals. Need to finish some work but I will be playing this all freaking night.
 
Any idea on how much the MvC3 DLC is going to cost for those two characters (Jill Valetine and Shuma G) if you didn't buy the special edition?

Nope, but after the costume DLC price I would imagine $10 or more.
 
Got my special edition from Wal Mart this morning (last one), and have been playing ever since.

I'm loving Iron Man and Dante... and Sentinel of course.

Man people digging Doom's rocket assists over the rocks assist.

Seems like the homing rockets will be used for keep away teams and the rocks assists for trap/rushdown teams. The projectile is really good too and might be in teams needing more zoning power.

Good to see Justin turn around with this game and ALSO better to see him claim that he has a lot of "anti-Sentinel" strategies now. :D

I know as the game is still in its infancy we will be seeing a lot of Magneto/Storm/Iron Man/Doom/Sentinel with a sprinkle of Dante/Wesker/Deadpool because of popularity but I am hoping that once the game gets going people will be using a wider cast. Yipes seems to be digging Bionic Commando.

I didn't believe it until I saw the Yipes/FADC "In the lab" rundown. Shit looks too good.
 
Won my Walmart tourney last night. Ended up getting 5,000 capcom unity points.

Also, from what I played earlier I didn't really have any problems getting into a game. 360 version.

what do you use those points on?
 
Block dem gigantic, planet destroying fists and beams. Use dat X-Factor, too. Know when to bust out the hypers. Beam supers work well, but you have to do them when he takes some time before his next attack (like after he misses with that move where tries to grab you with his hands...)

Comes out really slow though, you can't combo into it that well. But paired with someone like MODOK/Dormammu, it's going to be sick.

Imagine Dormammu setting up pillars, fire traps and holes all over the place. He calls Doom's assist but you don't see it. You rush in and finally go through his defense, then all of a sudden you get hit by missiles out of nowhere. This then leads to Chaotic Flame in your face and your early demise.

Watching Yipes though it seems the game is more zone/defensive friendly. Wider screen has something to do with that but in addition a lot more characters have ways to deal with that and flying characters (who are greatly nerfed too).

that made about as much sense as the matrix to me

care to explain it to me like im 5? this is the first fighting game i have playing 10+ years

They have raffles and stuff that you can spend points on. Right now the only two things they have are some sort of collectible pin. The other thing is a four pack of PC games. Lost Planet 1, Resident Evil 5, Devil May Cry 4, and Dark Void. It costs 500 points and it says that it is a raffle so I'm assuming that you aren't guaranteed to get them if you enter the raffle.
 
I almost succumbed to the hype. I had a Special Edition in my shopping cart, but couldn't pull the trigger. I'm gonna wait and see how this game plays out first. Not too many characters are jumping out at me. I like Chun Li, X-23, and Chris Redfield. I'm almost sure that's a bad team makeup.

HOLY SHIT! I just found the greatest combo set and it's easy.

Dante+Spencer+C.Viper

Get 2 meters and do this.

Play as Spencer and do this X,Y,B (hyper combo)

you should have Dante do his infinite strike as you do your Bionic Arm. You dash so fast for Bionic Arm that you are LONG done with it as they get juggled by the Infinite Strike. Reposition yourself behind them and when infinite strike ends before they hit ground hit

A,(jump for aerial combo)X,Y,B,A(to arial rave to Dante), X,Y,B, A(to Aerial Rave to C.VIper), X,Y,B and upon hitting the ground go into her Hyper and it will relaunch them back up.

This is a 100% combo without X-factor that kills off Sentinel and anyone else in your way.
 
Played online last night, went like 30-2 before logging off. At first, the lag was bad, but then after like 4-6 matches it was pretty much fine. Seems odd but it's fine now so w/e.

Haven't had any slowdown problems at all.

Also Farms and Joe, give my props to buktooth, solid guide those guys put together. One of the best guides I've ever read.
 
This game is getting better and better. Honestly the learning curve from Marvel 2 is pretty steep, it feels like an entirely different game.

Where are you noticing slowdown?

On the 360 there is miniscule slowdown that happens during intros and win sequences... could just be a loading thing.

But in game, there is absolutely zero slowdown whatsoever even with 6 characters on the screen going apeshit.

Dante is DEEP as fuck, so is Dormammu. SOOO MANY THINGS TO DO.

Played through single player for the first time with Sentinel.

Beating Galactus with X Factor Sentinel is amazing. THAT'S THE TRUE FINAL BOSS RIGHT THERE MOTHER FUCKER.
