IT'S MAAAAAHVELLL. There is more hype than every other OT combined.
This is right up there with the hype for Street Fighter 4. I've spent a disturbing amount of time in this thread today.

I fully agree that spectators should be a staple in fighting games at this point. It's how to add fun amongst a group of friends to all stay involved. Replays are out too right? That's also something that needs to be a staple at this point.

They did a lot of awesome things in the training mode realm and it seems at the cost of these two mega important features that give the game longevity in the online space.

I still reserve to be hopeful that if we all mass beg Capcom for these things to be added in as DLC we'll get it. I'd pay for it.

If spectators was a compromise for better netcode it should stay out. However, if the netcode didn't suffer because of it, it should be in.

(Just wow with people's comments)

I spent twice as much time with Super as I did with vanilla purely because of spectator mode and replays. It's definitely a big deal that it isn't in Mahvel.

but as a make or break feature? eh...

if the brawl comparison is correct, I never had much faith in playing online to begin with.

Agreed. bottom line should be about fighting people. if they did that right, i don't care about the extras.

It's Miss Tron, baby!

Still kind of in awe they brought her back.

Tron is one of my favorite game characters ever, largely due to how much I loved Mega Man Legends. I'm super glad she's back.

On another note, a few more avatars:

It depends on what he meant. The individual character art that you always see in those rings of silhouettes isn't from Shinkiro - those are actually the characters' in-game models. But Shinkiro did do a lot of promotional art.
Yea, I meant the promotional art, do you know where I can find a collection of his MvC3 art?

@Ezenzer, Thanks.

I was so excited for SF4 and it lived up to my expectations but MvC2 is still the most fun I've ever had with a fighting game and a sequel seemed out of the question for a long time. From the second this game was announced I have been in hype overload.

God dammit I had to pre-order 10 days in advance to get it on release day.

Looks like it's GameStop for me!
weird. I have preordered a game from amazon pretty close to release date and got it on release date. dunno

I'm the free as fuck when it comes to Mahvel. Even more so than SF. But that hype....it's irresistible. I'm bummed I can't make it out to San Fran for the launch party. I'd be so there if I had that cash for a plane ticket. I got family out there I could stay with. Damn....

Yeah. I think what's special about MvC3 is that for a long time a lot of gamers just assumed it wasn't going to happen due to all the licensing issues. 10 years of anticipation is about to explode on the 15th. I can't think of many other sequels I've waited so long for.

Just going to walk into a Futureshop on launch day, too bad I have like two mid terms next week, FUUUUUUU school!

Yeah I've literally pre-ordered a game two days before release and still got release date. My guess is their initial shipments are gone.

Fry's looks like they'll still have a lot of SE's available but I'm not sure if they'll have it day one.

Never played anything with folks on GAF before but hopefully I'll be able to get some games in with you guys. Planning on devoting alot of time into learning this game. GET HYPE!

I can't play WoW anymore
I can't play SC2 anymore
I can't play SSFIV anymore

I want this game now

360 peasants.

Paying for online makes people poor? Damn, wish I would've known that sooner, or else I wouldn't have signed up for another year ;)

After my experience playing SSFIV on PSN and then making the switch to the 360 version a month ago, I'm going with the 360 version. I might get the PS3 version, just so I can get some use out of my PS3 TE.

I wouldn't say make or break but I have to admit I (briefly) thought about canceling my order when I heard the news. The GAF rooms in Super were that fun and plus, being able to spectate in Marvel seems more useful than SF4. With Marvel, there's actually a chance I'll be able to pull off the cool shit I see other people do unlike SF4 where I couldn't FADC to save my life.

I NEED A HEEEERO

EDIT: Seems like I opened a can of worms with the PS3/360 decision.

Also, what is the right timeline of The Legend of Zelda?

Dunno if I should get it for PS3 or 360. Decisions, decisions...

Finally.

Well if you pay for peer 2 peer you might as well get your monies worth with peer 2 peer. I get all my fighters on PS3 because paying for Live is a joke, and all my sticks are on PS3. No, I'm not being a fanboy. Networking is networking, and bad connections will be bad without dedicated servers/ proper 1:1 netcode.

Damn, I need to get my looping avatar setup with this game. Shit, can't wait to rock, "MF DOOM, GhostFace and Jean Grey" on gaffers, same with the BASEDGODS#. But for now, I'll rock my baby X-23 (Just because, Joshua Middleton is the man)

I'd respond with a witty comment if I came up with one.
