see, all this unwarranted qq about Sent before the game was out is ridiculous now. Justin Wong has saved the Marvel vs Capcom franchise from Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Sentinels.

Did you miss all the x-factor sents making ridiculous comebacks? All because J. Wong won the tourney without him doesn't mean sent will vanish from teams, he has a damn good assist and crazy damage output.

lol commentary on ipw

"there has been a lot of talk that sentinel does not do well against rushdowns"

Yeah its true. believe that shit.

I did see all the comebacks, but that's more of a problem related to level 3 x-factor rather than Sentinel. Someone said in the stream that if X-Factor was removed, most of the broken stuff in the game would disappear, which is partially true. :P

Eh, considering that bullshit Sent shenanigans were working out just fine on everyone BUT Justin makes me unsure as to whether Sent was "exposed" or whether Justin is just that good at this game.

I mean, it's not like any other character fared terribly well against him either. And hell, the single point in this tourney that he WAS in danger at losing a game was against Sent.

To be fair, Justin was also one of those people prematurely qqing.

ACQUA was watching WNF, was impressed by Clakey's X-23 and Justin's Wolverine.

Haneyama says there's a lot of Sentinels and Dantes online. Not surprised.

I read the guide.

I noticed the guide said few things that I can't find in the games, for example.

Titles guide said that there are events, 1 to 50. I can't find events anywhere in the game?

Also it said I can get special ending if I lose on purpose but I did; and I never got one.

Richard N was destroying with his dante too. it looked like some real dmc stylish ish

I just bought the game and watched the stream. Damn I think I got a boner even though I don't know what's going on in those matches.

If you go to the title select on the license card menu, there are spots for titles earned from "Events." My guess is future DLC.

To get Galactus' ending, lose against him and don't continue.

Aww yeah, Street Fighter's best players dipping their feet in Marvel 3.

Despite all the entertainment,I can't help but be worried at seeing how good most of these guys are already.

Now that it's sinking in,don't you guys find that a little weird? It took almost everyone months if not a year+ to become really solid and on point in Street fighter IV,but guys who weren't really known at MvC2 like ClakeyD are already pulling off monstrous combos.

It's cool that everybody got broken stuff, but the game will probably be figured out within 6 months to a year max. It's the complete opposite of Street fighter IV and I'm wondering if that is such a good thing.SFIV is the most restrictive and defensive game in the serie, where you need to put a ton of work to generate a mediocre level of offense/damage+work on your ultra setup while MvC3 is all offense. In MvC2,only a handful of characters could pull off a monstrous offensive game and you needed to put in the work to raise your game to that level.I don't want to use the dreaded word braindead, but it's really close to being that so far (could be because so much stuff is safe, rushdown is almost free,AA is so weak, the insane damage, assists are slow,X-factor level 3 is just wow, etc).

The stuff that looks good now might not look so amazing down the line, i believe there is still much more to learn.

Too early to draw a conclusion, like the people qqing about sentinel. There's no doubt in my mind you will see players counter what was considered "top" today.

Also, we didn't see any lame/defensive teams, but I'm sure we will see them in the future.

I think it's not fair to judge the game and say it's brain dead when the game hasn't been out more than a day, I think it's gonna take alot more than just six months or even a year when the game's been figured out.

It's gonna be interesting to see what happens but I feel that MVC3 will have a long life.

I've managed to develop some spam like strategies for my Dorm/Zero/Chris team. I'm having an insanely hard time pulling off ground (and sometimes air) combos outside of practice. The guide has been helpful... in some ways. I can't pull off many of the combos it offers but the character specific tactics are awesome to use. My Dorm game has improved a lot (for the most part).

GGs Akagen, you put my team to shame (especially chris!).

Also, even Justin said that blocking is hard in the game, so right now we are seeing a shit ton of offense and combos and whatnot (and we always will), but as time goes on people will become more accustomed to how to block a lot of shit that is hitting them easily right now.

I think that is when the real deeper elements of the game will show up, when people have to get more creative in order to open up their opponents, and in turn people will find more ways to play safer and more defensive. Not to mention people will find out new potential between characters which make up their teams for a LONG fucking time to come. I feel like the surface of this game hasn't even been scratched yet, although I never played MvC2 or TvC so I could be way off. Just seems insane to be declaring the game figured out already.

I've played MvC3 for 3 days now and it's just not really clicking with me.
I like some of the characters (okami-dog, deadpool, Sentinel and Ryu) but the game feels like you're attacking on autopilot. It's just a bit too much and all the supercombo's look a like (horizontal big beam!!!! ow nooz!).

MvC2 had actually more interesting characters, more variation and I liked the artstyle a lot more.

But maybe I'm so negative because I've played SSF4 so much since it's release and I'm comparing all fighting games to it's greatness.

I'll continue playing it for a week and see if my opinion changes after that, but for now it feels like a B-

Apparently Kiryu Tsukimiya and Zangi-tan have been playing as well. I'm sure plenty of others are too.

Yes it's very early, but let's be careful and try to see beyond the hype and insane flash.

Wolfkrone has been putting in the work for 2+ years in SFIV to perfect his Viper to the point where you can say that he's the best in the US.I could say the same thing about Vangief who had to work hard to polish his awesome Zangief.

We are already seeing absolutely ridiculous combos in Marvel vs Capcom 3 and if you really think for a second,it doesn't have anywhere to go really.People are already doing 100% combo damage or comeback thanks to level 3 x-factor.

The game engine is very very loose and it could seriously cripple the depth of the game. After all, what's the point of mastering when there's not much to master thanks to the insane damage offered by the game?

This. Strategies and such evolve at a much quicker pace these days because information flows so much faster, but it's pretty crazy to say a game is gonna be anywhere close to figured out on the day it's released.

Yeah, you should stop doing that.

Also, SSF4 is... I'm not going to derail the thread, but saying that its the golden standard for all fighters is... Many wouldn't say that.

Anyways, don't try to play Marvel like its Street Fighter. They're nothing alike. They're on two completely different ends of the spectrum.

*sighs*

Well there's more to marvel than landing combos for one.
