Well, I don't know if anyone knows this, but people get really mad if you can lock them down with Sentinel lasers. Or chip them to death with lvl 3 xf Magneto shockwaves.

Well I decided to try out Dante with this team (with the jam session assist) and wow, it feels really nice. I think he gives my team that extra bit of mixup in style to keep me interested in exploring combo's further. One concern I have is that having both the torch and jam session assist is redundant and maybe switching arthur to daggers, any thoughts?

(The reveal of the Akuma infinite spawned a rash of guys on several sites laughing at how "Capcom can't make fighting games anymore" because MvC2 didn't have any infinites so its the better game.)

Always great to see there are some intelligent and thoughtful insights out there. I'm sure the majority on GAF share this opinion, and just wanted to thank you for sharing!

As a somewhat unrelated note, I don't think I'll be playing MvC3 online much. SFIV/SSFIV have caused me way too much grief for my own good, and I'm just sick/put off by all the complaining at this stage.

While it's great that these games now have online modes, I just want to take it back to the good old days of training mode and mucking about with mates in the same room when it comes to the Vs. series.

Ventura sounded like one stressed arcade manager today, lamenting that "everyone's calling and upset," due to that "rumor" he said was started by Henry Cen. On Sunday, Cen posted a message on Facebook, saying that Chinatown Fair had "lost its lease," a comment that triggered the concerns of arcade-loving gamers despondent that the neighborhood institution still celebrated as a scrappy temple of fighting games was closing its doors.

Ventura doesn't just dismiss Cen as a "moron" but refers to him as an ex-employee, Chinatown Fair's former technician who occasionally comes by to fix up some of the arcade cabinets owned by Cen's friend that are on the premises. Cen, however, refers to himself, in messages to Kotaku, as the arcade's "primary investor" and to Ventura as "just an employee" who "is going to be fired to my knowledge."

Joystiq added this bit on the situation:

"I'm trying to see if I can relocate my business," owner Samuel Palmer told Joystiq last night.

According to Palmer, negotiations are still ongoing with his landlord -- a situation brought on by a failure to renew Palmer's previous lease agreement. "Samuel Palmer -- I'm not too sure if he had the lease renewed. So the landlord has an interest in raising the rent, and I guess he doesn't wanna pay it," manager Valentino Ventura told us, adding, "There is a possibility -- a remote possibility -- that we may be moving elsewhere. But we'll see how that goes. We plan to stay here."

Spooky said its not a rumor though and this stuff above is bullshit. They will apparently be moving to brooklyn into a more dangerous neighborhood with a smaller space.

Online at this point is not worth the trouble, unless you wanna jump on a lobby and wait in turn while 2 profile bash eachother for a few minutes.

Plus swimming through a sea of Dantes and Level 3 XFC Sentinels is boring as shit. I cry of joy whenever I run into a random player that has some diversity on it's team and sometimes even send them invites to keep the fights going.

Moving to Brooklyn makes me all hype as a member of Brooklyn GAF, but here's hoping that things work out smoothly on the transition and hopefully this extra concern is just that. It'd suck to hear that we lost the place because people got bold and started shit there.

Meanwhile, is Dante really that annoying to deal with in online matches or is it just because he's overused? I've been seeing it a lot on the net and I've been wondering where everyone stands on this issue once and for all. :lol

Yeah either that or the fight request, but even that gets glitchy sometimes. I keep my settings to same and got challenged by a 5th rank guy with a 160-20-something record who proceed to skewer me like a fish.
 
OK, I regret ever sticking up for Sentinel. Today I fought like 50 of them. Almost all of them terrible. I mean, my Sent's terrible too, but I pair him with Arthur. It's a comedic duo! It's cute! There's nothing cute about all these angry dudes with their Sent/Deadpool/Akuma teams. :(

Lots of Haggar too. All at least competent, some rage inducing. A few times I was yelling at my TV cuz I got whacked with the pipe due to lag. So frustrating. I want a damn ping indicator and kick option. But Haggar's such a great character. I love playing as him.

I have the same damn problem. Too often I end up mashing to compensate and that doesn't help. I'm impressed when I play a dude in a laggy match and he's pulling off all this fancy shit. I'll never be able to do that. I know I'd be a much better player if I only played offline.

He's what Ken was to SF4, scrub friendly, fast and cheap, but he takes a lot of damage. A good blocker can punish him into a combo, OTG if you get a chance into a hyper and he's pretty much done.

Two business men come to to ctf everyday to play puzzle fighter. Ken mirrors. Quality.

Old guy comes in and plays pacman one credit for hours.

He's really popular and most folks don't know what they're doing yet, so you get lots of fullscreen hypers and shit. Most players don't know how to do damage any other way, it seems. They'll just crouch and throw out the occasional projectile until they have meter, and as soon as they get it it's JACKPOTBANGBANGBANGSENTINELFORCE (or Goddess Bracelet if you're me...I'm not above it!). It's taught me to pay much more attention to the opponent's meter at least.

Gene, Strider, and Juggernaut I'd like.
 
Spent an hour in training mode trying to get some of Felicia and Hsien-Ko's more damaging combos down with okay but not ideal results. Went into mission mode afterward and knocked out both of their final challenges in like 5 minutes combined, tops. Those were infuriating when I first attempted them but ended up being relatively simple compared to what I was trying to do in training, lmao.

I was going to renew my Gold sub tonight but right now I'm getting 200+ ms ping from the local ISP. FUCK Comcast.
