Just do the cool kid thing and spam Sentinel 4C2C4C2C4C... all day every day for Very Hard. Only time I've ran into a problem is against Jean Grey (super using bitch), Captain America, Aurthur (fuck your small hitbox you shitty character. :|)

Galactius is kicking my ass mostly because after I get through his first stage (stupid Akuma spam beams), I start off with a DHC of Chris B/Ironman A/Senti A for a beamx3 attack and it only takes off a quarter or so of his health with Max damage on. Then he just beam spams me/hand stomps me to death.

Cheating bastard. :|

I kept running into Hulk.

Let me tell you, HULK SMASH on very hard with highest damage is a fucking understatement.

The reason my strategy worked was because Akuma did so much damage (so long as the AI didn't jump raging demon) the he either killed or crippled whomever was on point for AI. Combined with the fact that I kept switching characters after they'd eat a combo, it allowed me to keep my health higher than the CPU.

For Galactus the time limit doesn't go to 30, I believe and it didn't seem like the AI got any better, so I did the low hit confirms into aerial combos with akuma (occasionally using his air beam hyper). This way when I got to galactus himself, I had like 3 bars of meter. Combined with rapid attacks and blocking his occasional hand stomp (or using the attack assist to knock my character out of his hand clap), I usually had him staggered enough to flip out someone with 2 characters left and hit him with xfactor beam hypers until he was done. Because Dante/Akuma/Dormammu all have beam supers (and Dormammu can fly to hover over a lot of the BS attacks galactus uses), I didn't have any issues.

If you want to be really cheaper (if that's possible), put hulk on your team after you continue and just use him to smash everyone in galactus's fight. When you get up to galactus, just gamma crush him repeatedly. Works like a charm. There's a reason I have hulk used something like 70 times and none of those are from online play (I used him to fly through arcade mode on very easy to get everyone's endings for the trophy).

Just use someone else then switch them in when he's at a sliver of health.

Second: go to training mode, damn it. Try out the characters yourself.

Galactus himself is incredibly easy. Just block and get a few hits in on the ground, end chains with Chris's shotty. No point in even doing his or Wesker's hypers. If he tries to grab you super jump. I can see it being a problem if you aren't good on dashing in since he pushes you out a lot, since I saw some friends struggle but they don't move in fast very well.

Yeah, dashing in while he spams beams and handstomps me is the problem. Him grabbing me (still not used to the super jump system as I'm rusty and haven't played Marvel 2 in ages) is an auto-KO.

He's just annoying to fight against as he'll spam the most powerful shit and you really don't have a chance to block unless you want to slow your two second death.

I can switch by holding down the "assist" button...but I can only switch between my 1st and 3rd selections. The middle character always just does an assist. WTF is going on?

Ok, so you haven't done a very good job of describing your problem. First off, it sounds like you think there's only one assist button -- there are supposed to be two, A1 and A2 for the second and third characters respectively. My thought was that you probably had both A1 and A2 mapped to the same button. If that isn't what happened, I guess one of your buttons might be going out or something like that (though that doesn't sound like it's the case). Holding A1 or A2 is indeed the right way to swap chars in btw.

I tried it with regular controller and it is fine. I guess my arcade stick is fucked.

I just got this game yesterday. So far i've had a very good time with it. As of now i'm just messing around with characters in arcade. I'm worried people online will just have a field day with me though. Any tips? I can tell sentinel will be an asshole already :[

I redid it and somehow I suddenly clicked and had no problem getting him and Wesker's Very Hard titles. Guess I'm going to do the others as I go through the week.

Anyway, mission mode #4-5 for the characters is when that mode starts to do my head in. standing a, standing a, standing b, forward standing c, qcfc, S, AIRA, AIRB, AIRC. :|

(Oh, and I'm totally using BB/GG button designations instead of L/M/H. Deal with it.)

Any tips? I can tell sentinel will be an asshole already :[

Use Sentinel A, Ironman A, Akuma/Ryu/whoever as a beam #3

Spam 4C2C4C2C and Assist 1 (Ironman's beam) all day everyday until you get to level 3 super.

DHC to kill someone if they aren't smart and blocking.

Win games.

after playing a gigantic asshole in ranked who spammed ironman and sentinel from the corner, trying to deal with that with chun, wesker, and dante as I tried out my new team... ugh. done with ranked.

thankfully, i found someone in ranked during that span that was a High Lord from JPN... now the only trophy I'm missing is the mission mode one... someday, I'll get my platinum. Most of my characters are at 7 completed or so...

hopefully downloadable characters will have missions and I'll be able to use those to buffer my 320.

I'm thinking of completely redoing my team. As awesome as my Zero, Chris, Dpool team is I realized their greatness will only be very viable against shitty opponents. Zero is just too much of a liability, because any decent player can kill you from the start of a round to do 800,000 damage for his full health.

I REALLY like Dr. Doom even though he's not as awesome as he was in Mahvel 2 and he def. has his weakness here in MvC3 in general.

Who's got a good team with Doom on point? Wondering what you cooked up to make him shine.

5peat is easy. Find something simple and abusable and coast your way to victory while the game's still new.

Only reason it took me 6 games to get it is because the first one lagged like mad.

Pretty much the same for me. The game even matched me up with the same guy 6 times in a row and I completely obliterated him every game. It wasn't even close.

I've had that happen a few times where it rematches me with the same guy over and over even though I continue to shit on him. Really crappy match making in this game for that reason, because I know at some point I'll be on the receiving end of the shit storm.

If you want to win 5 in a row easy: Sentinel, Deadpool, Chris. Spam projectiles.

You could probably use just about anyone on that team -- however, Spencer and Sentinel are more rush/mix characters (though I suppose you could turtle with Sent)... so probably someone mixed or rush to fit.

If you're doing better with Sent and Spencer, they're 2-hit limited and Marvel combo chain types... Deadpool is hunter, which I find to be a pain in the balls. Ryu is a relatively solid character with that aim-able shinku hadoken... he's Marvel series type with good health and is relatively straightforward?

Man, there are some really messed up things about this game when it comes to features, but there are also some nice little additions that make life a lot easier. The preset teams take the tedium out of picking the necessary characters.

The only thing stopping me from using the interesting new presets is the lack of specific characters(strider for one). The presets are going to be heavily used when more characters are added to the game. I kind of wish they had more than three slots though. The player license is also pretty comprehensive and easy to read through. The one thing that would make it perfect a tweak to the friends list so that only the people who have the game appear instead. I'm not interested in seeing friends who don't have the game at all on this thing.

The guy kept taunting me, and on the last character left, Arthur, I decided to start playing...and beat the crap out of all three of my opponent's characters effortlessly. LMAO; wish I could have saved that replay!
