So I'm hoping MvC3 is a bit more flexible, but if even hadokens are harder to pull off, that makes this game even harder than SF4! So much for it being casual friendly. :(

Uh, like he said previously I don't think you can make it any more easier than SF4.

Because as a Cammy player in SF4, pulling off a lot of her moves (the corkscrew kick, the upward 45-degree kick) were taxing on the hands (DualShock here) and I often accidentally pulled off one when trying to do the other.

You do realize the reason that happens is because they made the inputs easy to do.

Working on a guide for 1UP currently which is coming along real nicely. The IPW Guide will be up but probably not on day one. It will be worth the wait though, as the ipw guide will have community features. You'll be able to log in, edit and update your own posts, post videos etc. Basically each character will have their own public blog so things can stay up to date with the latest strategies. Its going to be really cool but still a lot of work to be done.

Any difference in the 360 and PS3 versions? I'm not sure which to get but I do have a fight pad for the ps3 that I bought for SSF4. I'm not going to get a stick for this so I guess it just comes down to what feels right for a controller?

Get it on PS3, since you already have a pad.

No, its really not a comparison between these two. Other fighters have spectating as well. Even Dead or Alive 4 had this. Fighting against ghost players? Been done by Sega and Namco. Capcom is behind the times on that too. Proper tutorials? Lets not even go there.

The fact that fighters AREN'T a bi-monthly thing is all the mode reason for us to make noise about what we should expect in these games.

I do have the sneaking suspicion that if this were another company's fighting game, we wouldn't be as lenient as we are now. That's only natural I guess.
How exactly is a customer purchasing a product exhibiting leniency? Do they have to flood Capcom's offices with angry emails and phone calls to not appear too permissive of their actions? Capcom is a business putting out a product, they aren't a child that you have to decide how hard to punish. It's a simple binary equation. Is what they are offering worth the price of admission, yes/no? I'd say ignoring the game because of no spectator mode is shortsighted and petulant, but if someone feels that way they are clearly within their right to do so.

Is it shitty that there is no spectator mode? Yes. Does this in anyway effect the engine or mechanics of the fighting game itself? No. Make your voice heard and register your disapproval by all means, but I think you're laying it on a little thick by acting like we are letting Capcom "get away with something".

Pre-ordered the game from Amazon for $60.98, no tax/99 cents release day shipping + $10 Future Games credit.

Wanted to get the Special Edition from Amazon but their sold out. So what I plan to do is stop by my local BestBuy store to see if they have any extra Special Editions in stock. If they do I'll use my $10 reward's zone certificate that expires next month to get the S.E for around $65 after tax.

Too late, bro. He only played one match of Mahvel and that was it.

wait, best buy is breaking street date? Is that how gaffers are getting this?
No, they only have demo stations up. Gaffers are getting the games through mom & pops stores that are breaking street date.

Played TvC for the first time online today.

Beat everyone until I ran into a Zero.

Needless to say... I am NOT looking forward to anyone who plays them... and if they do, I automatically hate them wholly, as they don't count as a serious competitor to me.

Such BULLSHIT in TvC

Cry some moar why dont you?

I just realized I do have a store called Play Me in my area, but they usually mark up new releases by 20 dollars, but for MvC3, mmmmmmmm.

Well after reading your post I realized I technically have one, but I don't know if I should consider it a real one. :P So maybe it was some sort of subconscious mockery but who knows, lol. I am sorry for your losses though. MTL is a nice place though, who needs mom and pop stores anyways! :(

NYC is usually reliable when it comes to shit like this considering the hardcore following we have of Capcom fighting games here.

Gotta love our hardcore mom and pop vg stores.
