Just like with Super, I had no problem waiting until the actual release date to play the game, but freaking gaf makes it excruciating.
Too much hype and too much early making me feel like I'm doing it wrong.

There has to be something in LA, right?
aww, man. Started the page with bitter tears.

so similar to BlazBlue huh. Some reason i thought it was like Mvc 2

The default is set up for a stock pad. You don't want to keep it like that...unless you're using standard 360 controller or DS3. So if you got a TE, this is what you want. Remember, you have to toggle to assign, not push. So just make it in this order

L attack
M attack
Partner 1
Special attack
Partner 1 + 2 (optional)
none
none
H. attack
Partner 2
none

This is the stupidest thing I've seen in this thread. I'm surprised that everyone else just ignored it.

Judging from some of your other posts I'd be surprised if you've ever played Marvel at all.

We all have our opinions, great if you like combos, but don't be dissing other peoples opinions if they think comboing someone to death is less than a stellar idea. More so if the combos are extremely easy to do... Again, MY opinion! Heck in my opinion, calling someone stupid for saying what he thinks is pretty dumb in itself Bub...

been playing a bit

from a noob perspective, combos are soooooo much easier than MvC2. It's zoning and blocking that's what's tricky. You guys will love this game

Just got back from playing this game for an hour or so at Best Buy. This game is CRACK. Pretty happy with my Phoenix and Ammy picks. Might have to switch Thor around, but it was really hard to get a read on him using a controller.

So true. I like being part of the hype but "WE GOT IT URRRRRLEY-GAF!" is making me jealous.

Pretty high quality stream here
Jeez, this stream is the best I've seen yet, quality wise. It's almost painful to watch now, though, knowing how many of YOU BASTARDS are getting to play it early.

The hype is going to ki~ll me. 4 more days. =[

"Extremely easy" 100% combos involve xfactor. And they arent 100%, really, they are 33% :)

Being entitled to an opinion doesn't make it well thought out.

Is it me, or are inputs more strict in this game? MvC2, Super and TvC seem much more forgiving, which is odd, because in almost every other area (so far) this game is pretty lenient. It's just SRK motions that aren't coming out as often as they should.

I heard that it was much more strict. I think it has to do with how lenient TVC was in certain situations. Polymar players would do his super by playing mind games with double jump and dashing (it was a 360 motion). So I welcome the better inputs. As long as it isn't ST strict because MVC3 is too fast for that stuff.

Last night they joked about Capcom doing more for Shuma than Marvel has done, and them wanting permanent ownership in fair trade for someone else. Now they said hey we'll give you JoJo's, and Seth was like "we don't even own the property!"

;_; Don't give up on Jojo's Capcom...

So you guys agree that it feels more like TvC than MvC2? I sure think it does. Not a bad thing at all. I think this has the potential to be quite casual friendly, but still have an insane amount of depth and longevity with the hardcore community.

Your take on it... Personally doesn't mean much....

It is when you act like an authority.

Marvel is too scary for you, fine. But stop posting with crap like "twitch vs tactics" shit like you know what you're talking about.

Same goes for street fighter 4. This isn't the only time people have called you out on your garbage posts.

MVC2 is a 10+ year old game. TVC, not so much. So yeah, it is only logical it plays closer to current releases. But that is it.

I've seen it mentioned before, but thanks to the quality on the PeacefulJay stream I can finally see that Wesker is constantly surrounded by a miasma of dark energy. So slick. Capcom really went all out with the little details this time.

Now Community Manager dude says they can't promise Spectator mode, and it was probably cut in favour of jamming more characters into the game. They say it's really high on their priority list, but can't really make promises.

I heard blazblue and guilty gear has no tactics to the game play. OH WAIT LOL

Super Marvel vs Capcom Confirmed?

I think at first glance you would assume that MvC has more tactics than Street Fighter. You have 3 characters to manage and movement and positioning play a much bigger role.

MVC2 was made at the time when balance wasn't a factor with over 40 characters. The game was limitless at many levels. You can't recreate that. TVC had some untapped potential. Being on the Wii also limited the amount of people who played it.

So it's a size issue?! We all know who get's it done with that!
not me... and that is what she said :(

Fuck you all for getting it early. No seriously, I hate you guys but enjoy :)

NOW WHERE THE HELL ARE THE JILL AND SHUMA VIDZ??
What was that about 4 weeks after release?

edit: I just remember seeing something with them and a prolonged period after the release date... don't really know what the implications (if any) were.

Like someone mentioned before Japanese game development is very isolated, and at times disjointed. It's quite common for developers to be unaware of what others are doing. Eighting (still not sure if they did some work on this game or not) didn't communicate with Dimps and discuss as to what features they put in Super. They were concerned with making MvC3, and not necessarily making it on par with Super.

But from our perspective, to some extent, it's unacceptable. Both games are published, co-developed and managed by Capcom, therefore, it's their duty and responsibility to make sure that overall quality and features are consistent in their products. Hopefully they get the time and have money in their budget to add a spectator mode. We can only hope.

Skrull has a kara-command throw. Gives him another 10% range, he can grab from like seriously 70% screen (including his anti-air throw). He can dash cancel into this, which gives him 100% (yes, 100%) screen range range pretty fast.

Mahvel.

Wrong. Edge magazine taught me that MvC can only be a shallow fanservice game.

Runaway Storms, beware?

Does Dark Phoenix appear at random or does she have to take a certain amount of damage to come out? I'm beating her ass with Hsien-Ko in training mode, and all of a sudden...

I CAN'T CONTROL IT RAARRR DSAFJDSFDSF!!!!!

I don't think this is such an unreasonable stance to take. We should be demanding these features to be standard in our fighting games going forward and should not reward them with praise when they don't live up to them. Fighting Games (along with Monster Hunter) have kept Capcom afloat right now (nothing else is, thats for sure...everything else but RE5 and DR2 were duds...) They should be a priority. No excuses.

FPS players have their standards, we should demand more as well.
