I was saying it last night, arcade stick seems like a really solid investment for this game.

I'm in a room with 4 guys, and two guys are fighting.. How do I challenge the other guy while the other fight is going on? ARg!

Coming from a stick novice, I can't even imagine what playing this on a standard controller is like. Thumb hell that's for sure.

shes like a mini sentinel. Probably going to be a sleeper character but she has a ton of life and does a GRIP in combos.
 
My got delivered, but I'm kind of afraid to open mine. Outside of Cave Shmups, I haven't bought a full price new game in years. It's also the PS3 version, when my set up is a very much more friendly to X360(No cables need to be switched). But I want the PS3 version more.

2nd, I here something small rolling around in the packaging and I don't know if something is broke or not. And I don't know if Amazon will take it back if it is.

Ok just threw MVC3 in for a few matches and uh, maybe this is stating the obvious, but it's been a while since Ive played an MVC game so be with me.

So uh, yeah, here's a brief summary of my reaction:

Seriously, this brings new meaning to word 'chaos', especially after spending the last year with the relatively refined SSF4 and grounded VF5.

This is going to take some getting used to.
 
Some thoughts for playing all afternoon (I'm scrubby): I am playing Spidey/Doom/Haggar.

Spidey's Medium attack seems to whiff a lot in chain combos.
Combo'ing maximum spider after spider swing doesn't always seem to work in corner.
Spidey seems to be slower than his MvC2 self, but I feel I can move around better.

Doom is awesome.
I can't get in with Haggar, dammit. His lariat assist is dope though.

I was losing alot online, so I wussed out switched to Arthur/Doom/Sent for a bit and threw swords and drones all day. Got 4 wins in a row. Then a Iron-man blew me up. His proton stuffs goes through the swords.

Some UI quibbles.

The mission mode layout is terrible. It doesn't show you how to do the combos properly. And having to go into a sub menu to see full notation is wack.

I wish when you go back to arcade mode after being interrupted for a online match, that you didn't have to pick your team again. Wastes time. SSF4 kept you with your same guy.

Also, I thought there was going to be a control option pre-set for a MvC2 type layout? It's inconvenient to have to go to custom to set the buttons.

O wells. And I have seem to be having bad luck. A lot of my online matches have a lot of input delay. sucking some of the fun out of it. Can't wait to put more time into the game though.
 
So just tried out the Marvel pad.

Its pretty good. The buttons are at a slightly different angle then the Madcatz pad so I'm having some difficulty getting use to it.

Likewise it is a stick so my dashes arent as precise as the pad. It will take some getting use too.

I tried it in SSF4 too and my Cammy instant dive kicks have improved exponentially and some of those types of moves are now easier but my FADC ultras are struggling as I need to get use to the stick.
 
This game is definitely a lot different than MVC2, but it's still amazing! Took some time to get used to. The PS3 pad is okay, but doing a super jump or moves that require a stick are sort of hard to pull off. I can barely do a super jump :(

Any PS3 scrubs wanna play?
 
In other news I'll be playing the game while sitting on a fucking STABILITY BALL with the Hori stick on my lap.

HOW'S that for hardcore motherfuckers! :D
 
posting again from above, but if you are in a lobby with 4 people and 2 people are playing, can the other 2 people play each other while those first 2 play? or does everyone have to wait in a row?

Anyone with the 360 version noticing the aliasing on the models? Is this a PS3-exclusive "feature"?
 
You have to wait, hitting the battle reservation just moves you to the bottom of the waiting list. Which would make sense if you just wanted to spectate, but seeing as how there is no lobbies it is worthless.

The buttons on mine feel a bit springy, but I like it. Takes getting used to cause it's pretty lightweight compared to the regular xbox pad and ps3 pad.

- Check all around your house. Behind bushes, in the backyard, etc .etc.
- Check neighbors houses/ring doorbells on either side and ask.
- Wait until tomorrow because sometimes they marked a package as delivered even if it isn't yet.
- E-mail Amazon and follow thier instructions tomorrow if you still can't find it. Worst case scenario, they'll reship another copy at no extra charge.
 
I'm absolutely terrible at this game, haha. Regardless it's fun. I need to do more than just trying to launch into combos and spamming assists. :(

If it was me, I'd email Amazon even though it's undoubtedly the deliverer's (UPS? FedEx?) fault unless someone stole it.

Amazon CS is typically really good and understanding. So it's worth it to contact them. I dunno how good the delivery companies are as far as CS goes.
 
This is pure theory fighter since i dont have the game but :
Is there any reason to pick Ryu over Akuma? Stamina and nothing more isnt?

Ryu seems kind of lame so far.
 
Playing this game makes me realize how stupid it is that many of us buy a new Call of Duty every year when there's a good chance I'll still be playing this disc in 2016.

There's no round robin in online lobbies. Another Capcom failure. They screwed up the online tournament mode in SSF4 by making you wait through every match.
 
With Dante how the EFF do you do his "During" attacks. The only one I can do consistantly is the QCB+L -> H. Even the one just like it using ATK instead of H I cant do.

Multi Lock into acid rain just makes me do another multilock

Crystal into Million Carrats just makes me do another crystal
