This is pure theory fighter since i dont have the game but :
Is there any reason to pick Ryu over Akuma? Stamina and nothing more isnt?

Ryu seems kind of lame so far.

Ryu's vertical super hadoken is a pretty badass move.

Coming from a stick novice, I can't even imagine what playing this on a standard controller is like. Thumb hell that's for sure.

Really not that bad. I played MvC2 on controller but I'm trying to get better on stick for 3.

Playing this game makes me realize how stupid it is that many of us buy a new Call of Duty every year when there's a good chance I'll still be playing this disc in 2016.

probably not because now they see they can make mucho money and another will be out in 2yrs :D

Ryu kinda sucks in this game. Pick Akuma.

I'm in love, even though i just lost like 8-1 to my friend i'm loving this game , gotta work on my assists and X-factor timing. Oh and how do you aerial combo counter?

Whats the proper way to implement double jump in a combo? Find the move that is jump canceable, and just hit up, and continue the combo in the air? I'm trying to do the Trish mission, and I can't get the double jump while in the air.

Played four matches online. Won 2, lost 1 and had one rage quit as I was going to kill him. My PS3 threw up salt at that one. =/

Wow, can't believe Capcom is charging for Ghost modes. That will possibly be the lowest selling DLC ever. Or so I hope.

^Yes. I can't think of any fighting game where it's like that. Now you know why people are pissed about the lack of a spectator mode.

I'm in a room with 4 guys, and two guys are fighting.. How do I challenge the other guy while the other fight is going on? ARg!
You don't. You have to wait for your turn to fight the winner of the match that is going on.

can you even do this?
No. If you don't want to wait then start a new/join a new lobby or challenge someone from GAF.

I'll get flamed but... I didn't get MVC3.

Its obviously an incomplete game in the online department. No spectating, no replays, and from what I experienced in a friend's house lag. Nasty ugly lag in XBL.

+

DLC Characters BEFORE the game is launched and now I see $5.

I simply can't support that. I'll buy it down the road, probably used since the gameplay is really fun, but some things left a sour flavor on my mouth. I will join you down the road MVC3 GAF!

Am I the only one that finds $5 bucks per DLC character completely reasonable? Especially considering all that goes into each character.

In other news, after a whole night of play, and about 8 online matches (I won one! Woohoo!), Im absolutely in love with this game. As the night progressed, this appears to be my team.

Deadpool, Zero, Dante (I know, but the guy is ridiculous)

One of Spencer's win quotes is something like "Make fun of my hair and I'll pick you up and beat you down again." lol

The amount of matchup-specific dialogue is great, too.

I've had good matches all around though I go through the search and search for 2 man rooms. It says they're five bar rooms and the lag is very minimal. But the rest I agree on. I'm sure we'll see fixes soon. I hope.

Wrong.

"All 6 are available for 400 Microsoft points or $5"

Edit: :(
nice try lol

$5 a character is freaking ridiculous. The current roster would cost $190 at that price.

Classy Capcom.

Got my SE for 62 dollars. First characters will cost me 1 dollar each.

Hopefully enough people buy the game to warrant spectator mode dlc. If it undersells, we won't get anything.

Hey Dante, you're a spammy motherfucker. Kill yourself.

Love,

EDIT

Again, turn on Fighting Req. in Arcade mode. I've been getting matches no problem in a matter of seconds. Great connections too.

I keep making this mistake with fighting games, I buy them and then hate my life cause I suck at them.

I even bought a SFIV Stick and upgraded it with sanwa parts and everything, just to suck non-stop lol

Man just the menus for getting online are worse than sf4. They have some laughably bad programmers at Capcom...why keep dumping me to the menu if I don't connect? Why not just keep searching for another connection. I have to hit the A button a million goddamn times in between matches. WTF developers?

Well I told myself I was going to wait a few weeks for a price drop or something... but the Hype cannot be denied.

So just tried out the Marvel pad.

Its pretty good. The buttons are at a slightly different angle then the Madcatz pad so I'm having some difficulty getting use to it.

Likewise it is a stick so my dashes arent as precise as the pad. It will take some getting use too.

I tried it in SSF4 too and my Cammy instant dive kicks have improved exponentially and some of those types of moves are now easier but my FADC ultras are struggling as I need to get use to the stick.

Totally. Played with the pad for like an hour and hated it. Tried with a regular controller and it was even worse. After about 3 hours I feel like I have gotten better both with the pad and the game itself. The pad is very precise. I like it.
