Good lord, this thread moves fast... wish I could play this game already. D:

Anyways, seems like a lot of people are interested in picking up arcade sticks for MvC3, so be sure to swing by the Arcade Stick Thread started by Markman himself if you have any questions. Lotsa knowledgeable posters there and your queries probably won't get lost due to lightspeed posting action. :P
 
Does anyone else get a lot of "Failed to join game session" and "Connection to host has been lost" when searching for online games on the 360 or is it just me? When I get connected the game runs fine but it hardly ever happens when I'm searching for ranked/player matches. Do I simply need to mess with my router settings?
 
Beat the shit out of this guy's Sentinel, I'm assuming he was going to try to one shot all my characters with Sent.

Ha then I beat him twice, I even beat his joe!

Then..I lost to his x-23.

Ah well, even then, my Chris/Spencer team is Indestructable!
 
anybody else get marvel vs capcom 3 at kmart today? you got 25 dollars in rewards money. with that i got resident evil 5 for free and with the rest of the money i put it towards a points card which ended up costing me 15 bucks.

Don't do quick match. Do custom match. Or just turn on fight requests and do training. Will find games quickly.
 
My copy arrived at my office before I even got to work today. Pretty much played all day with other people at work. Loving Tron Bonne.
 
How is it that there hasn't been a competent tutorial mode in a fighting game since Virtua Fighter 4. It annoys me to no end that Capcom simply provides players with a rote list of inputs without ever explaining the timing or shortcuts required to successfully pull off said commands.

I'm still really liking my Phoenix and Ammy combo. I just REALLY need to find a good third to compliment them, because fuck Thor. Hah.

Wait, whatever happened with all the bitching about X Factor being too powerful and blah. Should be killing matches easily within 99 seconds.

Hey guys. Like a lot of people, I just started playing last night. I played a bit of MvC2, but was always far too intimidated to get into it competitively. I REALLY like MvC3, though. (It feels a lot like TvC, which I really liked.)

Anyway, would anyone who's pretty good, knows their way around the game, and has a headset be willing to play me online a bit? Either later tonight, or sometime this week. I'm not horrible, but I feel like there are a lot of critical things I'm missing. My XBL name is Dacvak.


On a side note, is there any aerial combo break or anything? I feel like I'm able to air combo people forever. It's insane.

Yes i get this too. My router settings are fine, I have all the ports forwarded, so i don't think it's that.
 
omfg doc ock!? yes please! i have no interest in elektra. there already seem like enough rush down type characters that would fit her mold in the game already. doc ock could be unique! plus spidey villains deserve representation
 
I've been reading through this thread last night getting hyped up and hoping my copy would get here today from the Capcom store. Got home from school and only got another credit card offer in the mail. :,( I guess it gives me time to study and do homework, but I wanted to procrastinate and play all night.

i think that feature may be kinda screwed up but i'm sure capcom will fix it. you can still play online you just have to go to offline mode and go into arcade mode. pick your 3 fighters but don't start it yet. look at the options it will give you and then go to fight request and turn it on and put it to either player or ranked. it will look for players while you are playing against the cpu and it will then interrupt your match once it finds somebody. it finds people quick so you won't be waiting long.

Damage is insane in this game when people know what they're doing, but at low levels most matches are probably going to time out.
