NAT settings issue?
Maybe. What do I change?

oh oh, are the missions hard? I think I managed to clear 99% or so of the ssf4 trials and tbh some of them are ( for me ) just impossible to do on a 360 pad. I'm hoping the MvC ones are atleast doable on a pad. Hopefully...are they?
I couldn't do the SF4 trials past level 4. Here I can make it to 7 or 8 depending on the character and thats just with 2 days practice.

DSP's Haggar is killing me. After his first air pipe knockdown he keeps doing the bodysplash super when he could relaunch for more meterless damage.

how can I do mike haggar's stun move.

I did it before and saw opponent got stunned. I tried to figure out how to do it but can't do it. I can't find it in guide book.

I'm still trying figure out the game and get some matches in. But only after about an hour or two. I kind of want to throw in the towel already. The networking is god awful.

It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't boot you to a different screen that makes you sit there while it loads. I just want a screen I can sit at and without having to load a screen and browse through a menu every time a connection fucks up.

If you hate fighting the computer, you can mess around in training mode with fight request turned on as well.

Wow, that works in this game? Gonna have to give that a try.

Lost Fragment said:
When I play arcade mode with fight request on it usually takes like 3 matches for someone to pop in. If it does at all.
Either this game isn't as popular with the regular crowd as I thought or people are almost universally training offline for the most part. Online I keep running into the same people.

And thats if I even connect. XBL here.

Don't you know, it's got to update your profile for that Disconnect.

You will fucking LOVE the MvC3 trials :D

Folks should remember you can turn on fight request in training mode, if you'd like to experiment while waiting instead of fighting through arcade.

There couldnt possibly be a strategy that prevents it...

Just like Sentinel.

Not saying there isn't...but there sure wasn't last night. lol Which made it kind of boring in the end. Everyone knew who would win and joked about it the whole night. =P

In other news, Super Street Fighter 3DS will have spectator mode. Isn't that shit sad that a handheld fighter will get spectator mode before Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (most likely)?

Sad Capcom. Sad.

But not the interface

I've pretty much accepted by now that japanese developers have not left the ps1-era when it comes to user interfaces or anything that has to do with semantics.

About connection issues: my xbox reads clean nat when I test it, and I have connection failed quite a lot too. I have that in SSFIV, but not nearly as much as in MvC3 right now.

SF bombs out perhaps once every five tries.

MvC3 is the other way around, one in five tries connects.

Same. Maybe it's other people who don't have their nat set up right?

They shouldn't let you play games online unless your nat checks out or something.

Doable but some of he combos are so long I could never see myself using any of them repeatedly... you need god like memory and execution or practice night and day!

It's situational. It's an air headbutt where the opponent is on the ground AND counterhit.

Its not good.
It's quick, simple and slick. Just what I need in a fighting game, just like old time fighters.

I'm talking about the command interface for trial mode
I still don't know what you mean :lol I really haven't been bothered in training mode at all.

Do you mean the fact that it doesn't actually tell you how you do the moves (you need to manually press Start and go to Command List)?

letsbereasonable said:
Yeah, not liking that you have to go into the menu and click around to see the full list and/or what commands the ability names translate out to.

Whats even worst is the record/playback for dummy characters. No menu options to do it but they can be mapped to the controller? WTF capcom...did they really have no time to complete this for release date or did they actually think it would be perfect the way it is?

Even worst when you do playback it doesn't loop you have to manually press the playback button again... wtf it almost seems like street fighter was made by another company dont these guy talk between themselves or even test their own companies product for consistency.... goddamn this lacks foresight!

Doesn't show you inputs, doesn't show you how the combo looks like, no position reset.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8Gai1I1yZU challenge mode in continuum shift is a beacon of innovation in design in comparison. Although its also a much more useful learning tool for a game like BB. Where trials are not as big of a deal for MvC3.

Position reset is select + start

They don't really tell you though...

And I agree, this is shit wrapped hype that I waited 10 years for - fuck you, capcom. Now take my money and give me jill back you bastards.

Isn't start and select at the same time training reset?

edit: beaten

Yeah that would actually be a good thing for the game to show you the inputs on screen rather than the name of the move (hell like street fighter does) and even show you a playback of the combo so you know what your doing wrong. For a game that is looking to attract the masses it sure is cryptic in its learning material!

Heck even the transparent menu in the trials is kind of distracting... never had these issues in sf4... damn Ono sure seems like he can run a project 10x better. (not saying sf4 is better just that's it's more polished)

Damn the mission mode is harder than SSF4. I have no problem with links in SF but the MVC3 combos (kind of like target combos in SF) is killing me. My fingers just can't move that fast :(

I'm on day 2 with this game (360 version). It took about a day to get used to the new button scheme. I tried it on a TE stick and SF4 pad, using both the standard and mvc2-style button layouts, and I think I've settled on standard layout using the SF4 pad. Now I just need to pick some characters. Early favorites are Wolverine, Chun Li, Captain America, Ryu, Morrigan, and Hulk.

This is extremely stupid on top of the other stupid stuff. IMO the gameplay is stupid good and the rest of the package is just plain stupid.

Everything(or most everything) is a chain. Just dial the buttons in for the most part. But yeah i suck at missions too.
