All he's doing is Sentil Beam + Dr Doom's Hidden Missile. Covers both the ground and the air. I really have no idea how you're supposed to play against that.

I hate that damn Dante combo that seemingly everybody knows how to perform perfectly ( slash you a thousand times and when you come down do the super ). I don't know how the moves are called but I'm sure y'all know what I mean if you played online.

I play Dante and use this lol. It's an obvious combo for a noob like me.

Just toss in a super then wave dash in quickly. From there, that's up to you. That's how I usually deal with beam mashers.

Hehe yeah it's a very obvious combo since almost everybody knows it :p. And it takes off about 50% health if you do it right, even to Sent.

I don't understand people like this.. I play with Sent as well but I ain't cheesing it. Where's the fun in using a beam attack all the time? It attests to no skill at all :p.

Punish doom assist with full screen super, and Beam isn't that safe. Super Jump to create an oppurtinity.

c. l m h s air M H, qcf L S M H QCF H xx HC DHC into whatever. It's the easiest damn combo outside of sent's stuff.

Most full screen Supers will put an end to that crap quick.

And when all else fails...

BIONIC

Yes.
Super jump over the motherfucker, or outspam him. Haven't had any problem with beam spammers so far (X23/Ami/Doom team here).

This. A thousand times this. It's a full screen, nigh instant invincible that tears through everything. I keep saying Spencer is Godly and full of untapped potential. He essentially is built to cut apart bullshit in this game.

-Grapples through pipe
-Standing heavy that deals overhead instead of frontal damage for those hoping to advance guard you off them
-ziplines to out climb hypers and projectiles and for quick go behind set ups out of assists
-one of the most useful team assist setups with his get over here.
-great health
-the most powerful non hyper in the game
-wall bounces galore

Seriously folks. Pick him up. Think of how to use him to keep combat on the ground long enough to set up some aerial combos and watch as all the parts of his character suddenly click. He's not Spiderman. He's not meant to escape people via swinging. His swing is too slow for it. He's meant to keep people from escaping him and his swing is meant to outclimb bullshit and to reset combos.

Especially since you can summon an assist midair immediately after a swing while in midair to nail someone INVISIBLY before you land. I did this with Haggar once while in the air. I zipped lined to the ground next to them right as I was hearing the "ping" of the pipe and caught them just in time to deal damage. You gotta zipdown maybe a little before this to launch them but It seems doable. I'm trying to get the timing right, but it's rough.

Once I got it though look out. I'll be fuckwitting around in the sky and you'll be waiting for me to come down into your launch and you'll suddenly discover that it was all a bait to get you vulnerable to Haggar to sneak up behind you and lay some pipe to set up for the double team!

Spencer + Haggar. BELIEVE.

What should I be looking for in an assist? I'm just setting them as my characters projectile right now. I'd prefer if they gtfo asap especially after seeing what Hulk's hyper can do.
What's your team and what's your style?

You want maximum synergy with your team. Like for example, Spider Man can get around the area well enough but he lacks a good OTG move to go into his Ultimate Web Throw. Adding in Wesker's Low Gun shot assist will help him combo OTG into his supers and also allow for high/low mix ups.

Or like Justin has it with Wolverine/Akuma. Wolverine can't combo OTG after his slide (unless he uses a super which is different) but with Akuma he can OTG, use Akuma's Hurrican assist which catches the opponent and then allows Wolverine to dash in and combo again.

Some assists are defensive in nature. Trish's traps, Dante's anti air (one of the best anti-airs in the game). Tron's flame help you to get the enemy off your back.

It really depends on who you want on screen the most and get assists to back him up. Here are some assists which I believe are excellent in this game overall:

*Sentinel's Drones
*Doom's Rocks and Hidden Missiles.
*Wesker's Low Gun Shot
*Tron's Flame
*Chun-Li's Lightning Kicks
*Zero's Anti-Air (when used with his clone hyper it gives invulnerability)
*Hsien-Ko's Swinging assist (with gold armor hyper it is invulnerable)
*Haggar's lariat (deals self damage but still a really good assist with invulnerability)
*Morrigan and Amaterasu's meter building assists (good for teams that need a lot of hyper gauge)
*Amaterasu's Cold Shots
*Dante's Jam Session
*C.Vipers flame kick
*Akuma's Hurricane Kick
*Super Skrull Tenderizer
*Deadpool's Katanarama
*Arthur's Bottle toss (with Gold armor it's a really sick assist)
*Thor Mighty Smash

Dormammu's assist is god-tier because it can be any one of those "spells" that he summons on his hands. One of those ties the opponent to the ground (roots them) for EASY grapples/throws.

Haha, I just realised I played you a few times tonight. You sent me a message about having cool colour coordination with my Modok/Dorm/Sent team. I think you beat me every game though. At least you can attest to the fact that I don't only use one move, contrary to what everyone else who messages me says.

Ah yeah those were good games! You definitely beat me once or twice and have more than one trick up your sleeve.

Looking forward to him playing against someone who knows how to counter-NEUTRALIZE NEUTRALIZE NEUTRALIZE NEUTRALIZE NEUTRALIZE NEUTRALIZE NEUTRALIZE NEUTRALIZE NEUTRALIZE NEUTRALIZE.

Apparently no one knows how. The biggest problem isn't the Sentinel spam, it's the Dr. Doom Assist, which covers the air 50% of the time.

edit: Ryu does super -> get's interrupted by Dr. Doom's Assist.

Shadowebb, stop it! You're making me fall for the hype and I still haven't even gotten to play around with more that 2 characters in this game causally! :lol

Oh really...then how bout this.

Deadpool's taunt is an ATTACK. His speech balloon hits opponents unlike Spidey's taunt balloon which is intangible. I haven't developed a use for it yet but on small fries it occasionally works as an overhead.

All aboard the hype train. CHOO! CHOO!

How come nobody mentioned VF4 as having the best training mode? That thing was a monster.

Damn thing showed you the timing for combos on a virtual joystick and accurately critiqued your playstyle. It fucking knew if you sucked ass at blocking lows and told you about it. With percentages. Plus, it built an AI around your patterns and you could fight yourself. Holy fuck.

Not to mention it had the best tutorials.

Oh, we're not talking about Sent's beam in general, but that dude's Sent.

A little bit of Spencer

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4Yapt1k3sA&t=21m50s

Guy's first round with him is pretty ass. Should've X-factored and he spent way too much time screwing around in the air without going for his air grab as he swung over Magneto. Plus running Hsien Ko vs Magneto rushdown on point was a death sentence in either round. She should've been used to protect either Chris's meter build mechanics for Bionic arm cancels or she should've been used to set up for zipline chasers from Spencer or armor piercers to get inside.

Second round you see him stay grounded as he should. Every zipline was sent to push him back in peoples face and tons of Bionic arm cancelling out bullshit. Too bad he blew his OTG at the end. He would have taken Sentinel/Magneto/Storm on Warren with just Spencer had he not blown that. Thats how dangerous he is though.

Spencer=Anti Bullshit character.

Oh I knew about this already. One of my first "must do"s for the game became psyching someone out and ending the match with this right after I found out! :lol

@ God's Beard: Woooow, and why isn't that standard in all fighting games now? It'd certainly help me feel a little bit better about myself, especially when I wonder if it's that I don't have the motion or I have the motions but the timing is off. :lol

Yep VF and Blazblue have the best training options.

If you think that this game has the best training mode you are clearly on mdma. Not even close at all. Get your mind right.

-They lose off the bat because they did not even put the command normals in the movelist. come on.

-Where is the gameplay basics in game tutorial? nothing about advanced guarding etc.

I don't agree with putting spencer on anchor at all. He works FAR better with an assist, and also his zipline doesn't give him frame advantage (especially downforward towards the opponent). From what i've found it works better to both escape and get in with an assist, slow assists (like Doom rocks) can set up crossups with his ziplines. Not to mention his assists don't really benefit anyone much (unless you are good at reading jumps).

I personally put Spencer on point, Skrull second, and Doom last. Skrull second to backup Spencer's damage output via DHCs, and Doom last to take advantage of xfactor (which benefits him more than anyone else on the team)

Thanks for the thoughtful reply.

I still haven't solidified my team. Storm is a mainstay though as she deals most of my damage. Morrigan plays the role of aggressor with a bit of zoning. Still stuck on a point character, I'm switching between Wesker and Wolverine.

Right now my strategy is to lock people out with Storm and switch to my point when they come in. I play my team like one big composite of Guile lol Storm

Mostly using the Whirlwind assist to help get a mixup to start a combo. Otherwise I'm clueless to any other application.

Opponents on this stream are pissing me off.

1. Knowing the nature of people online, how do you not have a character that can deal with projectile spamming?

2. WHY AREN'T THEY PUNISHING DURING PROJECTILE SPAMMING WHEN THEY HAVE >2 METERS SOMETIMES? No, instead they're constantly JUMPING into the Doom missiles assist, and falling right back down into Sent's beam.

Quick thought ...has anyone tried using Chris's ground crawl on Spencer to duck Bionic Arm?

It may be too slow but he does shoot a lot of bullshit and could bait Spencer inside if it worked. I haven't got a second player right now to test this properly because I'd need to know how much of a combo window Chris gets if it works.

I want my game (SE) >.<
Shipped from Vancouver, BC on Thursday (I live in Ontario), and no real updates on it leaving BC yet... And of course Monday is a holiday for me where there is no postal service (unnecessary, yet free holiday made to coincide with President's Day in the US I suppose).

One can only watch streams for so long!

To get past projectiles all you need is a super jump and an air dash. No special strat or anything. just super jump and air dash

I got lucky and scored a ps3 SE from gamestop on launch. I somehow was able to preorder it the day before. Still it is stupid that my 360 SE is missing in action.

People who bought from Capcom store bought into the hype of getting it before release date. I stayed the fuck away because in the past I saw capcom deals and they charged ridiculous amounts for shipping. Any company that charges a lot for shipping usually drops the ball when it comes to shipping. Even newegg. Release day delivery from Amazon for free. Feels good man.

Anyone have any good tips for easy bnb's for Wesker and X-23? Right now I'm doing cr.l, m, h, cr.h, s, j.l, j.m, j.h, l.talon attack, ankle slice (max charge), rage trigger for X-23. 470,000 damage. With Wesker cr.l, m, h (2 hit), ghost butterfly+l teleport followup, cr.m, h, s, j.m, j.m, j.h, s or Air Phantom Dance. ~500,000 with the Hyper.

You can just use Morrigan as a meter builder with Storm on second (she is the best "2nd" character in the game because she can DHC into anything). For the purpose of meter building both Wesker and Wolverine will get the job done on point. You should try out Wesker as starting character backed up by Storm's Whirldwind assist, then teleport behind them for extra mix up. Get them in a combo, air super into Storm Hail DHC. Keep spamming Morrigan's assist to get meter and keep the Hail on regular. Don't be shy to bust out that Wesker LVL3 when you need to, that's what the meter is for. Wesker's Low Gun shot can also make for some nice unblockable set ups with Storm. Morrigan at the end to use Astral Vision and LVL3's when needed. X Factor should be saved for Storm for the insane chip damage on Hail.

However, Morrigan with Anti-air is also good if you need it because this team lacks an anti-air defense (plus her anti-air will set up nicely into Max Wesker or Hail). If you feel you can save up the meter with Wesker and can afford to have an anti-air assist, then that's good too. Don't bother with Morrigan's projectile assist, the other 2 are better.

So, going through that ClakeyD team stomping on the Wednesday Night Fight stream, I just heard something that made me hype as hell. Apparently, Morrigan has invincibility frames during the latter part of her meter assist. Morrigan for troll tier. :lol
