See I thought this too but it doesn't seem to work everytime still, I think being on pad doesn't help one bit.

Dunno, feels perfectly fine to me so maybe you're just doing the inputs too slow. But yeah, if I had to play with a 360 pad I'd probably have trouble. :p

Is it my connection, or why do I keep having to go through a couple "Failed to join game" every time i try to play an online game? Couldn't they have just made a "retry" button instead of bringing you back to the title screen?

and ya the shoryukens are so much different than SF4. it doesn't register my bottom right/left

I dont want to start any controversy, but PS3 version feels better than the 360 version at least on my projector. Yesterday my friend stopped by and he had his ps3 copy with him; and we tried the game on my projector (my ps3 is connected to the projector, the 360 is in another room)

I was REALLY surprised by how smoother and how the colors were seemed .. better on the ps3. It's hard to explain but the look was way more comic-bookish. I brought the 360 in the room and I connected it to the hdmi cable, and the 360 felt 'dimmer'

It's hard to explain, and maybe its all in my head, but its something we both noticed.

Anyone else having trouble with the game not reading your shoryuken inputs every time? Why is this? I could do em flawlessly in SSFIV.

No, but I do have trouble with Dante's move modifiers that require the same input during the moves. Maybe i'm just not timing it right. Either that or the stick on my SE fightstick is starting to mess up.

I think most multiconsole games are brighter on one system than the other.

Damn, I have to stop reading Shoryuken forums... it only discourages me. I've been having a lot of fun using just basic combos I came up with myself or copied as well as I could from a stream or something, then I go to the SRK forums and they're talking about bnb's that are crazy hard and involve some serious finger gymnastics, all in the name of doing the most damage you possibly can regardless of execution difficulty... I basically stopped playing SF4 because grinding difficult combos for days and days in training mode is so fucking boring, and even after all that training I was never able to do the combos in an actual match so it was all just wasted time. With MVC3 I'll try not to make the same mistake. Fuck bnb's, fuck what I "should" be doing to maximize my damage, I'll do my own variations that I feel comfortable with and actually have fun practicing. No thank you, X-23 hop combos.

hit up training mode. Look at your inputs and make sure you are actually inputting it correctly.
This is probably what I should do, completely forgot that was in there.

@Teknoman, I have real trouble doing those too. Exactly why I can't play Dante.

Man this game is fantastic. Went online for the first time, won my first match and then got pummeled by dude with a GT with Toxic in it. Wherever you are amigo, you did not fall prey to my random hypers.

Thats the way fighting games should be played imo. It's funny because the Pokemon series of games has started to have that same issue (well its not really an issue) as of late, with the hidden stats and so on.

I say just have fun with the games, play the way you want to, and if you win...even better.

Besides if you're the one who made up the combo, you're more likely to remember it/be able to pull it off easy against a human.

I'll still play as him, since he still has enough moves without the mods to hold his own/has other moves with simple mods (mashing H after hitting with H to fire guns), but it does suck not to be able to pull off the extra stuff. Maybe it's similar to Arthur, Spencer, and Joe? They play like they do in their respective games, so it could be some just frame stuff.

The whole point of Simple is to have a newbie mode for people who don't necessarily even plan on playing the game long enough to learn all those moves. I think it's a great idea for using it as a party game.

Maybe, but the inputs in this game are so easy. You kinda just have to know two motions and press a button.

Wasn't JWong bitching about how low the execution bar was?

Brooklyn GAF is best GAF. :P

And seriously speaking, if I had to run down a list of characters I'd love to see in this game just from the Capcom side of things, I'd need a good amount of time to get them all listed. Still, I'm hurting for Strider & Mega Man X specifically because Strider is just pure class (and clockw0rk only made me like seeing him in play more) and Mega Man X has tons of potential to be more than just "Megaman with Armor Switches". Tri-Dashes & the hovering/psuedo Iron Man flight would be amazing to see.

Also, Shining Finger. :lol

Edit: Fuck it, let's do this:

Makoto, Ken & Juri (Street Fighter)
Mega Man X & Bass.EXE (Megaman Series)
Strider
B.B. Hood, Anarkis, Jedah & Demitri (Darkstalkers)
Wang Tang & Rouge (Power Stone)
Ryu & Nina (Breath of Fire)
Ruby Heart (MvC2, also pirates are awesome.)
Gene (God Hand)
Vanessa (P.N.03)

Joke options

Zack & Wiki duo option
Phoenix Wright

I find it weird that the more interesting options for this roster comes entirely from Capcom's side though.

Or Strider..... :(

Also the Marvel side is clearly missing Nightcrawler.

Sigh Strider.

I would love it if Gene from God Hand was in the game so having Amaterasu, Joe and Gene team up and win a match will unlock a clover trophy.

Actually, come to think of it: Captain America. Isn't his shield dash invincible to projectiles? I played around with him a little, and he's fairly easy to learn, I think. Also considering Thor, but I already got one Heavy on the team with Tron, so maybe, maybe not. Her assists are better, and she has that lockdown move that I could see get really fun fast.
Cap's shield put a stop to the bubonic plague, ended the Great Depression, killed Hitler, and stops Hulk dead in his tracks.

Nothing beats Cap's shield. Nothing.

What?

Not even. What do you mean by lame?

Well I guess I haven't grown up while reading Marvel comics. I like Spiderman, but rest of the characters look like He-Man dudes and some generic female fighters. And Galactus lolololololol.

Sentinel/Dark Phoenix/Wolverine
Set Damage to High
Infinite X-Factor
Final Destination

This is like the MvC3 equivalent to 200% Bob-omb matches with everyone playing as Kirby in Smash 1. :lol

LMAO I felt the same way back in 2000 when I first visited that site. For Alpha 3 I thought I had all these wicked combos and I was awesome cause I could beat the CPU on the hardest difficulty. Then I saw the V-ISM videos that Shoryuken/Fighters.net was hosting at the time and I felt so discouraged. Just keep it at.

Super Skrull doesn't get enough love. Great reach, command grabs (which can be anti aired), teleport move for projectile spammers that can be canceled into a super, teleport Level 3 which can also be done from a canceled teleport, crazy forward(x3)+H move that reaches fullscreen that can can combo with tenderizer, an air dash, etc. etc. etc.

I like this game but 2 things.

1. No spectating. What the fuck? Yeah, really fun watching 2 battling credit cards for 8 games. Also, if you accidently press Y...It's back to the end of the queue. Simply awful.
2. Why the hell does it kick me back 2 menus so much? I try and join a game, failed, back 2 menu's. What the fuck were they thinking?

Other than that, I'm liking it.

T-shirt quality is pretty crap. I thought Meatbun was supposed to be some hi-quality stuff. At least it isn't an XXL. Got a large, hopefully it'll shrink a bit with some washes.

Packaging for the SE was pretty tight. Love me a good steel book.

For 8 games? You must have been doing something wrong because once you press triangle or Y on xbox you set a reserve spot for yourself.

You can only wait for 8 games if you never reserve a battle spot. Why would you do that?

I love how I choose to play a ranked match with someone of my skill (less than 40 games so far) and after 4 failed attempts I'm playing a guy with 150 games.

Has there been any word on this possibly being implemented? Before the game came out some people said it was but I don't know if that was wishful thinking or what.

Finally got some ranked matches in using the arcade searching feature. Got a streak of 5 going before getting dominated.

"When Captain America throws his mighty shield
all those who chose to oppose his shield must yield!"

Yeah, I took him online and tried him out. He's surprisingly good, although I still lost, this time only barely. Charging Star, though, went through everything. The weak link this time was Thor. Good hypers on him, but I can't seem to get close. Well, time to rotate in an old standby from Tatsunoku vs. Capcom... The lovely Morrigan. Because Cap kind of wants a better projectile than his own to cover his advance. And because I know a bit of Morrigan already.

The connection on PSN here in Europe is pretty darn good. I get a match pretty much every time when I choose Player Match, and there's no real noticeable slowdown or input lag that I've noticed. That's from Denmark to Portugal. Not bad at all. Of course, I made sure there's no bottlenecks on my end for it.

It's getting a little annoying not winning a single match online, but I think back to Super Street Fighter IV. I lost the first what 15 fights before I started winning. I'm not even up to 10 fights yet, and the last one was to the wire.

On the fun side: I lost to a Spider-Man player, and Spider-Man has an awesome remark when he beats Felicia last: "What is it with me and catwomen named Felicia, anyway?" Cute.

Why Gene isn't in this game is a fucking mystery...

incoming $50 DLC

Lets be honest with ourselves here, gene was from a poorly rated, poorly performing game. Does that mean he isnt awesome or the game wasnt good? no, does it mean there is a chance for him in the future due to the inclusion of okami and viewtiful joe, two other games that didnt fare so well on the sales side? we'll have to see. You make it sound like it's a foregone conclusion, but just because hes from a fighting game with lots of moves doesnt mean he is a lock for inclusion in Mahvel. Fuck they could put maki or the spanish guy in from final fight, at least people outside of gaf have a vague recollection of who they are.

As far as real DLC characters, I really hope Megaman X gets in at some point. The way Zero translated over, makes me think X would look amazing.

From the Marvel side of things...i'd actually like to see Carnage make an appearance.

Ranked has gotten a bit more challenging today. Had my first fireball spamming Pheonix loss and my first level 3 XF Sentinel rape my team. Sweet. X-Factor gives you 50% damage, quick heal, no chip damage, and you don't even have to know how to do Sentinel's combos cause the other guy is dead halfway through it.

Of course I also had a really good high/low/crossup guy who just wrecked my shit, so its not all cheese.
