TVC was the only recent 2d fighting game I did not own. I own a wii but I was not going to buy a stick just to play that one game. I think the console choice and the unfamiliarity of tatsunoku was the downfall of the game.

If it was on the 360 or ps3 it could have possibly gotten some balance patches. Also the inclusion of giants was a bad idea IMO.

This is just my opinion. I know there were fans but that game's fanbase dwindled really quickly and its not a surprise.

TvC was one of the most balanced fighting games ever. And the giants were not unbeatable. hell Gold Lightan was considered the worst character in the game.

My criticism of the game has no comments about balance but there were people playing and always being butthurt about the giants. They were beatable but people like to complain.

People above were saying that zero was broken.

this confuses me. Every game with an srk has a backwards srk.

Just lock him down. I don't think hes that big of a deal. Especially in the hands of some scrubs. Just dont get caught in his air S or OTG into rocket punch.

Edit: I agree with one thing in this cross counter video. The netplay has been perfect for me. I also only play over a wire and have a top of the line router. Not sure why everyone is claiming it is laggy as hell. Works perfectly on my comcast connection. Currently playing on ps3.
As you should, if you care about the netplay quality at all. Packet loss over wireless FTL.

Finally got my first few online matches in, awesome fun, I even grabbed a couple wins (won my only ranked match, lol, always good to get in early on games like this, so scrubs like me can even steal a couple wins). I'm playing Spencer, Viper, Captain America. Surprisngly only met one Sentinel online in about 15 matches, who was pretty bad. Glad this game seems popular, hopefully will be lots of people online for awhile.

Getting used to the stick is tough though, how do you guys position your fingers?

Just had and intense match online. I had Captain America, Ammy, and Sent and the other guy had Dante, Super-Skrull, and Zero.

My god his Dante was amazing, he was style'n all over my ass. I love Captain America, but he can not rush down people, hes completely dependent on either Ammy's cold star or sents sentinel force. It was almost impossible for cap to hit his Dante,so I was forced to bring out Ammy early. He then proceeded to destroy my Ammy easily. I hate sentinel, but man is he a good character. I managed to kill his Dante, with some poorly executed (and lucky) combos, and I made quick work of the other two. Manged to beat him twice.

I think Sentinel will be replacing Hulk, not sure yet.

Yeah I run all of my consoles to the router using a ethernet cable. Wireless is inherently unstable especially if you live in an apartment complex or a place with a lot of other possible interference.

This is the router I own for reference

Make sure you guys are checking your QoS setting and anything else that can possibly affect throughput. How many of you with problems are running over wireless? What type of connections do you have? What router are you using and what system are you on? Anecdotal evidence like "other games run fine" is not good enough because we have no idea how latency and or jitter negatively impacts mvc3.

Push block, pray or kill her before she can get them out.

Sounds like X Factor was involved in dat 50Sent comeback.

Some decent BnBs with Ryu

Marn saying the game sucks because there's too much damage and Sentinel is too good. A SSF2HD has a ton of damage and it's still played. B Sentinel was too good in MVC2. He says every tournament will have Sentinels everywhere but A didn't MVC2 B I don't recall that many in the big tournament from Wednesday.

I think the top players are just resenting the game because it's easier to do stuff. "It's a scrubby game!" But so was SF4 compared to SF3 and that didn't stop everyone from playing it.

I think everyone got put on blast at WNF when justin dominated without ever using sentinel. Expect the sentinel noise to stop pretty soon. That was recorded before WNF. It is pretty clear that all the top players will not be using sent especially because of the freedom in this game his large hitbox is sure to lead to some ridiculous loops and combos like that tron bonne one.

Also on your sf4 comment . Tell them how you really feel.

This cross counter video is full of stupidness.

"Whoever uses xfactor first loses" - marn

Wrong, if you can use it early to kill a character or two by cancelling into your own super etc. then you are being smart. He did it in one of the nerdjosh matches. Then he forgets so easily.

Wait...there are no guard breaks? lol wow capcom. MVC2 had guard breaks.
Wasnt that an exploit of the incoming character mechanics. Was not part of the game if i remember correctly.

Or I guess the one action in the air thing. There were no ground guard breaks in mvc2.

Edit: i may be wrong. Not sure.

Don't worry dude, I'm right there with you. It makes no god damn sense, but DP motions become 100% harder for me once I have to do them in the opposite direction of where I'm facing. It's like some kind of mental block.

Push block? Or a good assist to stuff leg spam. Maybe something like armored up pendulum.

Well, I used to grip it with my whole hand over the top of the ball-top, but now I'm holding it similar to the way you would a wine glass. With the stick in between my ring finger and my pinky.

Really, you should just hold it the way you feel most comfortable.

SO, I GOT MAHVEL. I FORGOT WHAT "FOOD" WAS SO I GOTTA TAKE A BREAK LOL.

PSN: atrickcard

I'm real scrubby! If you want to fight/add, leave your GAF name if it isn't obvious from your PSN.

After spending some time in practice, and with the guide, I started playing the game online last night for the first time.

I...I suck terribly.

The worst part is that the whole matchmaking process takes so long, and when it finally works it pits my puny ass against some douche with a 62-38 record or some shit like that.

Not good times. :(

Yeah, it's the one action in normal jump state thing.

Damn, I have to stop reading Shoryuken forums... it only discourages me. I've been having a lot of fun using just basic combos I came up with myself or copied as well as I could from a stream or something, then I go to the SRK forums and they're talking about bnb's that are crazy hard and involve some serious finger gymnastics, all in the name of doing the most damage you possibly can regardless of execution difficulty... I basically stopped playing SF4 because grinding difficult combos for days and days in training mode is so fucking boring, and even after all that training I was never able to do the combos in an actual match so it was all just wasted time. With MVC3 I'll try not to make the same mistake. Fuck bnb's, fuck what I "should" be doing to maximize my damage, I'll do my own variations that I feel comfortable with and actually have fun practicing. No thank you, X-23 hop combos.

The thing is, are you really at the point where all other aspects of your game are solid, but you are losing out due to the extra 200,000 damage that you would get from way more difficult combos? Unless you are tournament level I'm guessing that is probably not the case. It sound like you are doing the right thing by just choosing to play the game instead of grinding in training mode. When I played SSFIV after I learned just one or two easy combos for my character I always felt that I learned much more just going online and figuring out matchups, tendencies of other players and how to actually perform those easy combos under real game pressure. I'm sure that at some point you would need to hit the lab to really get better, but I was never anywhere near that point myself.

Yeah me too,I always to try to jump over Player one at the beginning to be on the best side.

Just spend your time in training with Fight Request on. Much easier than going through the menus and failing to find a match.

What the hell at that Marn Traveling Circus deal.

Sell 250 shirts and you get 1000 dollars. SMH . They got fools working on shirt selling commission.

Wow this was an eye opening video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8We4BVPFig .

Marn has serious regret from leaving empire arcadia. Sounds like he made a good decision leaving EG. Maybe this will fuel him to take his game to the next level. He sounds like he is ready to battle justin.
