i think i finally found my team, Taskmaster/Chun-li/Haggar. Taskmaster ropes combo + Chun-li legs assist = unstoppable. Plus The Pipe.

Now i'll patiently wait for the Udon Taskmaster DLC

Udon tasky would be tight. I'd buy that.

Ranked match glitch this morning:
I was 12-1 or so. It put me up against someone who was 42-5 with a rank of 7th lord. Holy fuck, that was not a fair fight. At least I dropped one of his characters and got his other 2 down to 1/3 health with my Morrigan.

That has been my experience with the matchmaking every time. it's fine if those dudes want to play against every rank but I specifically do not.

I think I'm sticking with Joe/Spencer/Dormammu. I have not worked out the assists, but these are the three that I seem to focus on.

By the way, whoever claimed that they hear children laughing when Akuma does a super/win pose is SO RIGHT. LOL.

Even the fight request feature needs some work. It's hit or miss. Sometimes I can get up to five matches back to back, other times I won't get any for an hour. Shit needs work asap.

Joe and Spencer work quite well together, I've found. Haven't tried out Dormammu yet, but I know Magneto also makes an excellent third for that team.

EDIT: As I've found that I don't use Deadpool nearly as much as I thought I would, I'd like to change my avatar. Is there a Spencer or Magneto one like it (that nobody else is using, of course)?

Local super target is selling them at cover price, so the $10 guide deal isn't available at all stores. I'm just gonna wait for amazon's $10.99 guide to ship.

Not a Capcom fighting game fan, but my son saw this at Bestbuy running and just HAD to have it. We are total noobs, and the terminology "advance cancel crush heavy regen air attack assist" means nothing to us...................

Is there a guide or site that goes from ground zero to advance tactics? Mainly for my son, dont think my reflexes will ever manage this game. :)

Don't worry about all that! Just play the game and have fun with your kid. All the technical stuff can come later. SRK guide will simply overwhelm if you ask me.

How the fcuk do u swap characters. Never seems to work for when I want it to.
Hold down the Assist button. Half a second or so. That's the basic tag.

You can also perform a level 1 hyper for the character, and then input a command for a hyper on your next character and they'll switch out. Costs whatever the hypers do.

Or you can do an air combo and press direction + S to do an aerial tag, but the opponent can counter that.

And finally, if you're blocking, you can hit forward + Assist to Counter tag, but this costs a Hyper bar.

Marvel Vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Stupids

Yeah, more than a few parts of this game need work.

The thing with fight request is that it always seems to work quickly (within 2 or 3 minutes) when I'm searching for Player Matches, but when I try Ranked there's been a bunch of times where I've gotten all the way to Galactus before getting a match.

Also I really wish that searching for "Same Skill" found opponents based on W/L record rather than just rank. I had a few occasions when I was on a bad losing streak where I kept getting matched up with players who were 10-0 or 8-1. Thankfully I managed to bring my record back up eventually, but I really felt that I kept getting matched with players that were clearly above my skill level.

Honestly I almost wish they brought back some form of the BP/PP system.

Oh yeah it's Vibranium. I think it got reverse converted into Adamantium or some shit later on. Still it's unbreakable.
It's actually a one of a kind alloy made from steel and vibranium. Adamantium was later developed while trying to replicate it.

I truly the despise the Dragon Punch motion. Truly, truly despise it.

Some people are just better at it than others. I decided I'd try to teach my RPG/MMO playing friend the basics of Versus games with MvC3 the other day, and he could reliably do the DP motion forwards and reverse within a minute of me explaining it to him. Another time, years ago, I tried to teach a friend how to play GGXX, and I sat there in Practice trying to get him to learn the DP to no avail.

It really can be a bitch of a motion to try to learn and pull off reliably. I still have a bit of trouble with it every now and then myself.

But the REAL demoralizing thing is when you sit there in an online MvC3 match and repeatedly try to mash out an Electromagnetic Disruptor to no avail. :( IT'S JUST A GODDAMN HADOKEN MOTION, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON? I've been doing that damn motion for 15+ years now. ;_;

Played over 5 hours yesterday. I'm having such a hard time adjusting to it. It's overwhelming and I don't know why. Hopefully I can try online today and probably get wrecked.

Just curious, all of you not getting opponents for online, is that Xbox Live or PSN?

Because at least my PSN pretty much gets me an opponent every time. Except once, but I think that PSN was down for a minute there, since the match I was in timed out all of a sudden and I got a timeout error when I searched for another match. I bet I looked like a ragequitter to my opponent, though. Ah well, occasional disconnects happen.

Just came home from a three day non-stop MvC3 session...

my head fucking hurts, but oh soooo good. Best fighter to date, identical "fun" with (previously best fighter) sf3: 3s

Just unbelievable, I can't even talk right now. We were shouting so much, my throat is so dry :lol

GG!

I read the boxes at the store. It says the XBOX360 version runs at 720 and 1080P. The PS3 version only runs at 720P.

Finding this really odd. I looked at some the reviews, none of them touch up on the PS3/XBOX360 version.

Can someone shed some light on this?

Yeah, I'm on PSN as well, and I don't get the complaints as far as Fight Request goes. I've never gotten past the first round of Arcade without finding an opponent, both Ranked and Player.

*brofist*

I booted up some SFII Turbo on the Virtual Console hoping to get the basics down some, and while I'm pretty nice with Tatsumakis and Hadokens with the shoto bros, the Dragon Punch (along with Chun-Li's Spinning Bird Kick) motions are all lost on me. Worst part is I don't know if it's because I'm inputting too rapidly, my finger flicks me to jump more than often when doing the "Z" shortcut or I truly am bottom scrub tier. I feel fucking terrible. ;_;

That's the frustrating part. I'll mash out DP's all day in practice but then I get in a match and I'm doing leg sweeps when I'm trying to Demon Flip. I lose matches purely because of this shit.

It's pretty frustrating. I know I can do better in ranked play. When I play online I drop combos that I can do in arcade. Nerves or something play into it I think. I'm still trying to get that 5 game win streak trophy. After that's done I don't care how many games I lose :(
I feel the same way man. It's like I freeze up or something. I've been very frustrated with my perfomance lately :(

Same. I mean, before today at least. I've had a pretty good morning/afternoon online today. But yesterday...man. My nerves totally got the best of me. Wish I could understand why I freeze up/lose my shit when playing online so often.

Also, your avatar is amazing. Fuck yeah, Kamen Rider W!

I have found my perfect team finally!

Dante / Super-Skrull / Iron-man (or Hulk)

Some of the Dante + SS combos are God damn deadly, although I do have a problem pulling off moves consistently online which gets me in quite a bit of trouble sometimes :(

I always forget that I'm able to use certain moves. For example, Viewtiful Joe's Groovy Uppercut (a dragon punch motion, since you guys hate that!). I always forget that I can use this move and set up some good aerial damage. I never use Shocking Pink, though. Too risky and I'd rather keep Voomerang as a projectile.

Thanks! Yeah I make alot of mistakes especially against my friend, and his execution is so flawless I'm damn near dead in one combo! Still I refuse to give it up, frustrations aside I love the game.

I love the shit out of this game but I cant help myself from going back and getting a few MvC2 games in once in awhile during my MvC3 sessions.

I am trying to compensate for my awful execution on the pad so my team right now is Hulk/Ryu/Sentinel. I don#t care is Sentinel is lame.

just got my first hate mail after a ranked match calling me a noob after i obliterated this guy with hulk/dorammu/ryu. his delicious bitter tears will fuel me for weeks

Anybody have any tips for defeating Wesker? His teleports shut me down, and his normals are so fast that i'm having trouble picking when to attack him. Any help would be appreciated.

That Hulk lvl1 XF Gamma Crush thing is bullshit, btw. I tested it, barely takes the main character below half. Doesn't even kill Akuma on assist.

Experienced a lobby for the first time last night... no spectator mode is absolutely inexcusable. Terrible. I'm never joining a lobby with more than 2 people in it again.

Can I please have the characters I paid for Capcom? How can you make a game so good and make the online so damn shitty. 7 freaking years ago DOAU implemented a better online system. 7 fucking years ago.

LOL. Some dude just killed two of my characters by spamming the shot of Deadpool and then I destroyed his whole team with X3 Sentinel.

Any tips for Team Arial Combos? I can never get another team member to swap in and continue my air combos.

Once you launch, press up s, down s for left or right s for a tag in. Up s shoots em up, down s shoots em down, and left and right s stay the same height.

So right after launching them push < > ^ v and Sp?
