I checked your Dormammu section; FYI, you can connect Dark Hole after Dark Matter, and then lead that into Chaotic Flame. It's unfortunate that you tagged him as a keepaway character when he has a lot more to offer.Sentinel guide is up, along with a bunch of anti-sentinel strats.

No, but he has some ways to move really, really fast.UHH, getting destroyed online by Sents...does Zero have a teleport...? Thought I read somewhere that he did.

He is a keep away character though. You're certainly not going to be rushing down with him.

Not in the style of X-23 and Wolverine, but Dormammu definitely has some rushdown ability. He can combo off of any beam assist in the game; use Mass Change M at the same time you call Dr. Doom's Plasma Beam, and your opponent will have to block a nasty cross-up that knocks him right into where Dormammu comes out of his teleport. Use j.S as you recover from the teleport, and s.S will connect upon landing. You can also use j.M and j.H, and some beams even require j.M because of how they fire. Magneto's is particularly good because it only hits once, which reduces damage decay, but I use Doom's because the beam has 8 durability points vs. Magneto's 5.Ah nice. Just tired that, solid damage too.

All four would be excellent. Storm's Ice Storm hyper has insane chip damage and she's great at playing keep away. Ryu is an all round solid character with one of the best hyper's in the game (directional Shinku Hadoken? Yes please!). I prefer to use Chun-Li as another rush character, dem legs can be beastly. I'm not really up with Magneto but i've seen some great play with him and his Gravity Squeeze hyper is an incredible full screen attack.TheApatheticOne said:So, I guess Im looking for a suggestion as to who you all think is a better fit in the mid slot.
Wolverine - ? - Deadpool
I love Wolverine point, dude's rush is AMAZING. I love Deadpool closing. He's my best character, love his tricks, and with XFactor, in another month from now after I have even more time with him, I can see it being absolutely stupid in a good (great) way.
Ive tried multiple people in that slot. Dormmamu, Dante, Zero, Ammy, and X23. While I liked all of them, they just didnt feel right there. I thought of running a brute, but I dont want to run Sent, and Im no good with Hulk or Hagger. And playing what Ive played, Im horrible/not that good with She Hulk, Chris, Wesker, Arthur, Felicia, Tron, Morrigan, Spiderman, Captain America, and Thor.
The ones Im currently debating are Magneto, Ryu, Storm and Chun Li. Who there would be viewed, IYO, as the best fit for the two or just general thoughts would be nice.

Karsticles said:Ditto. I played MvC2 Sentinel all the way through, and I didn't even know what a tier was. I didn't know about fly/unfly shenanigans, or anything else that made him as powerful as he was in competitive play. He was just a fun and unique character. Flight Mode was what made Sentinel so enjoyable - I still use it, but I wish it lasted longer.
It depends on the character and the move. Some moves have really tight timing, while others have such a massive window you must be hitting the wrong button if you miss it.
Do it in training mode with the inputs on. Look at what the game is reading you as doing each time, and correct as necessary. Sometimes I like to do the combo while looking at my hands instead of the screen, and I notice that I am not doing what I think I am doing.
Use Dormammu's Mass Change M right as you call Magneto's beam assist, and you can combo off of it for a little under 600K with one meter.

Virtua Fighter has quarter circles, half circles, charge moves, just frames, one frames, dragon punch motions, chain combos, link combos and character-specific and corner-specific juggles. If anything, the moves in virtua fighter are harder to learn because not only do characters have 50+ moves instead of a dozen or so, they all have different inputs, even combo-specific inputs. On top of that, every section of the game has more options to worry about. Teching throws is more complicated. Standing up is more complicated. Knowing when to jump is more complicated. There are more types of moves to worry about than High/low. You have half circles and full circles. You have to worry about which side of the opponent is facing you. Counter attacks are much more complicated. Amaterasu has 3 stances. Lei Fei has 8. And they all matter. Winning by ring out is a very real possibility, and changes by the stage.
Nothing about Virtua Fighter is easier to execute than Marvel 3.

Yeah, that was wild. I wonder how one recreates that...Caj814 said:Best heed Thor's words orYOU'LL GET GLITCHED THE FUCK OUT
I sort of agree and sort of disagree. I feel as though, with the exception of a few characters that fit their archetype perfectly (Wolverine and Arthur, for example), labeling a character as "rushdown" or "keepaway" is selling their character complexity short. Part of what made Sentinel, Magneto, and Storm monsters in MvC2 is that, while they could apply beastly pressure up close, they could also maintain it from afar and hold their own to some degree. I feel as though Capcom took a page from the god tiers of MvC2 and said "let's make most of the cast a Magneto, Storm, or Sentinel", and thus we have this massive cast with a ton of tools that allow them to both zone and rush a bit.haunts
Yeah, it looked like you either have a hard text, space, or time limit placed on you based on what I have read, because I know all of these characters have more to them, and I know you know that.Honestly I wish I could spend more time on each character but with so many it's hard to go into every last detail.
Now that you mention it, I haven't seen someone with multiple high stats. Maybe if you spend all your time attacking, you don't get points because you never get to block, etc.? I have been trying to improve on my other stats, but nothing has moved; stability is still maxed (what is it?!), and everything else is still looking "average".man how do you guys have high defensive stats? I barely have any time to block in any of my games, must be my rushdown play. lol mine is so low, my highest is basic offense, yay for scout. :O

Yeah, some people can't take a loss. I've had similar experiences before (in other games).Messi said:I was playing a guy online today in player matches. He beats me 5 times in a row but I am having fun so I keep playing. 6th match I win and as I deliver the final blow he disconnects. Like what is the point, he beat me 5 times and the once I beat him he turns off his console?
I should note we had no connection issues prior to this.
