Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Characters and Stages Roster Discussion Thread

Well, John "Left Behind" D says something that has to do with 2 things he really loves will be known on Thur. He told another FGC guy to not spoil it by giving hints, and he considers himself a guy who helped resurrect the MVC series. I'd say he loves the series.

Could this be the opportunity where we'll finally learn something? Or is disappointment inevitable? Guess we'll see tomorrow. He did like my tweet when I asked about Infinite.

If only one could make it in

God Hand Gene or Asura

Who would you pick?
One is in a godlike game and has godlike swagger, the other is in a bad game with limited swagger.

So the answer is obviously Gene.

Game play wise it makes more sense too given that Gene has even Dante beat in terms of moveset.

Asura would be a cool character to include though. I would want to be like an aggressive grappler character.

I hope so. It's been over 3 months since Marvel Infinite was announced and still no updates :(

Nobody Likes Apollo

I like Apollo

I don't want him in MVCI though. I don't want any extra AA characters tbh.

I am curious as to how Wright will look in MVCI though (if he's coming back). I wonder if they'll be updating his look to the most recent game (so instead of Wright's old suit/young Maya/Missile we'll be getting current Wright/current Maya/maybe Shah'do instead)

Would Asura even play like a grappler? I can't even recall if you could grab in Asura's Wrath. I only remember him having a launcher, a homing divekick, his 360 degree attack and his punch projectiles as far as his normal moveset goes (and also oraoraora)

Interesting

Tell us how great Cyclops and Regina will play.

I'm laying the groundwork early in case I do play it, then you'll never be able to tell if I'm telling the truth

Apollo is cool. But not cool enough to take a fighter spot. If AA gets another rep and it's not Franziska, capcom done fucked up.

His main power is that his mood bracelet works sometimes and also he's loud

He also has a shitty haircut and is very prone to getting his ass whooped by bombs

Asura, its not even close.
That's......a tough question to ask.

If I was held at gunpoint & asked that question, I'd have to say Asura.
Asura, easily.
Asura. Didn't even need to hesitate.
Sorry direct_quote
Between Gene and Asura...it's Asura for me. I love them both, but it wasn't a difficult choice.
What da fuck? You guys all need to replay God Hand.

This man gets it.

If I had my way Gene would have only one hyper combo, and that would be the Roulette in its entirety (including Grovel).

Venom's likelihood might have shot up if Marvel is actually planning a Spider-verse style story only for symbiotes. Then again, all we have is a poster from Marvel's May Solicitations advertising something called the Edge of VenomVerse

as for my top 5 mutants, it would be
1. X-23
2. Gambit
3. Nightcrawler
4. Magik
5. Sauron maybe? Storm? Magneto? I can't decide for sure

and I really didn't mind the inhumans until they were considered the heroes by allowing a giant cloud of death to nearly wipe out an entire race...and forcibly transform their own people possibly against their will.

Still, I'd be up for Crystal and Quake or maybe Karnak or Gorgon.

No love for Ms. Marvel, Black Bolt, or Medusa?

Medusa would be awesome if only for the animations

For those of you interested, Marvel Games' Bill Rosemann is talking at DICE tomorrow morning (can't find any exact time). May provide some insight into how MVC:I came about, where the game is at in development, etc.

Just thought I'd share it here.

Honestly, I'd want them both. But if I had to pick, it'd be Asura. He edges it out for me because he'd be more of a spectacle. The Buddhist-Hindu-syncretic design, the mutiple arms, and the overall epicness. He'd be great to pair up with Hulk since they're rage buddies.

Gene's move list is a spectacle in itself. He has more moves than Dante and has much more to add mechanically than Asura. Asura is manufactured cool (qtes, etc), while Gene has old school Kung Fu homages mixed in with Fist of the North Star and deep combat mechanics. And the way QTEs were done in God Hand were great too and optional, and we need the clover trifecta in a game... Also he game had great music..

But gene cant do this

To people who don't know either characters, Asura looks more distinct. Gene just looks like a dude from the Fist of the North Star universe whereas Asura looks like its own thing.

But people who know Gene know he's a Marvel character. He's over the top, swagger, hype and just plain crazy. Asura is a good fit too for Marvel but there is just something about Gene kicking folks into the Milky Way.

He probably can to be honest. And he can probably do it with more swagger and with one hand to boot (aka the literal god hand).

I'm going to be optimistic and assume that when we do get news. It's gonna be a huge info dump.

Please let it be a larger info dump.

"and the multi-player demo is out. Now!"

Been looking at this Marvel Games segment of the DICE Summit. Not really new stuff, dudes just telling stories about the heroes and mentioning the Avengers and Spider-Man games a bit. Dunno if he'll even mention MvC.

so I guess the two things that guy liked was SFV and...TBS >_>

or SFV and money I guess :3

Why does everyone else seem to find potential roster discussion so interesting? I can never get hype for who might be in a game because it doesn't seem to have any impact on who actually makes it in.

Because you can have a roster discussion on a forum without hoping that someone @ Capcom Japan reads your post and follow your idea. And discussions like that are the reason why forums exist lol. It's always fun to speculate / talk about stuff that could happen.

Not only that but even if say a certain character does make it in... it really doesn't end up mattering much when that character sucks or is boring to play. Like Hsien Ko only exists in Marvel 3 to be the butt of jokes.

I bet most people here can't recite the entire Marvel 2 roster verbatim without looking on the internet. I know that even I sometimes miss a couple when remembering them.

This is just for fun though. Speculation is fun. Though I wish we at least had some riddles to speculate over, those were fun times.
