Mahvel hype, my friend. How has this thread carried so far with zero actual information in so long?
How has this thread carried so far with zero actual information in so long?
I know some of us are starving for some information but look at bright side we might get information on constancy pace, starting with E3.
E3
maybe EVO
San Diego Comic Con
Gamecon
TGS
New York Comic Con
Do you remember your time in MVC3/UMVC3 thread? If Yes, then there is your answer!![]()
Man Thing and Blade pls
Without Deadpool I think Blade has a good chance to return as Marvel's sword guy.
I'd be happy with bringing back Taskmaster too.
Man Thing would be fucking incredible.
And he could have Howard the Duck as an assist.
Fuck That.
Howard the Duck with Man Thing as an assist.
Man thing in over Howard. Y'all are terrible.
Man Thing is a pile of magic teleporting vegetables who can light people on fire y'all better recognize that rad shit.
Howard the Duck is a talking duck.
The winner here is obvious.
I often think about how utterly absurd it is that Dormammu and Shuma-Gorath are playable in MvC3 and that Doctor Strange isn't. Seriously, just consider how weird that is for a minute. Doctor Strange was a B/C-level hero at the time, and two of his enemies made the cut in a roster of only 18 Marvel characters.
That's up to Marvel, not Capcom.Speaking of cyclops, I'm ready to have him back Capcom. Just make the X-Men a reality in this game, please.
On the heroes side, theres also the Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer, Daredevil, and Punisher.Funny is that UMCV3 roster is just amazing. The only major characters that are not there are basically Cyclops, Black Phanter and maybe Vision. For the villains i can only think of Ultron, Kang the Conqueror, and maybe Thanos as the most.
Marvel side of the roster was pretty complete if you ask me. Capcom side was the one lacking Asura, Gene, Leon S. Kennedy, etc.
Yeah, me too.I do appreciate how with Smash Bros., Sakurai always has the main character representing their series regardless of how "boring" they may be. I always SMH at crazy people who think characters like Kumatora, Callie and Marie, some random Punch-Out!! boxer, etc should get in over Lucas, Inklings and Little Mac.

This is the same game that has Zero and Tron but no Mega Man of any form.

The lack of Spider-Man villains is pretty egregious. Hes Marvels mascot and has the best rogues gallery in the company. Red Skull, Loki, and Kingpin are also major villains. I also consider Mandarin a big deal (he was Iron Mans archenemy for decades), but it seems like Marvels been shying away from him for a while.
Yeah, me too.
The roster was really good. Do people think there's a hope for Gene in MvC Infinite? I hope so I'd main him instantly.
Howard the Duck is a talking duck.

A slow character with teleports and DOTs sounds like it'd be a lot more imaginative than a talking duck with punches.
Unless Howard has a move where Steve Gerber's ghost shows up for some biting social satire, I'll pass.
I honestly think Gene is going to be in. If Capcom had more time to work on UMVC3, I imagine he would've been on there.

Very low chance. This hasn't been the first Marvel 3 tournament you know, we have had like dozens already and no hint at some surprise announcement. They would at least tell people to tune in if there was something cooking. There is some Mahvel 3 tourney going on right now, what are the chances we'll get any news on Infinite? zero to none amirite?

I still don't think we can say that anyone cut from MVC3 is a shoe-in for this. It's different team and director. So the priorities can shift. Gene might've been big last time (even with fan demand), but now capcom sees him as a no go or DLC fodder.
In alternative reality, we would get Nina, Mega Man X, Gene, Daredevil, Miles, etc.
I'm thinking at least 10 characters at E3?
Nothing against Man-Thing, but I'd personally prefer Howard as well. He has Phoenix Wright levels of potential, with his moveset being references to all of the crazy crap he gets into from being a talking Duck in the Marvel Universe.Man Thing is a pile of magic teleporting vegetables who can light people on fire y'all better recognize that rad shit.
I don't know if I'd be extremely excited, or seriously horrified by a Dr. Bong inclusion. Maybe a little bit of both. He'd be a great reference as part of Howard's moveset though. I.e. maybe Howard could have a special attack where Dr. Bong comes up from behind Howard, swinging at him to attack him, Howard DUCKS and Dr. Bong instead trips forward to potentially damage the opponent.I say give Howard the Dr. Strange treatment and just add in his villain. The world needs a Dr. Bong/Sodom team now more than ever.
I think Gene's chances are good. But if he doesn't make it, I think we could all take solace in Asura's inevitable inclusion. The roster was really good. Do people think there's a hope for Gene in MvC Infinite? I hope so I'd main him instantly.
I sure hope so. After this drought of info, and looking at potentially 2 months more--there better be an info blow out.I'm thinking at least 10 characters at E3?
Dude! I'd love this actually. I.e. if they only unveil 2 characters, but had like 8-10 silhouettes for us to try and figure out--that would be awesome!I could see them revealing 10-12 characters.
But silhouettes would be good, too.

Capcom should include DLC skins for characters that are 'too similar'. Chris Redfield : Punisher. Dante : Blade. That Howard the duck looks an awful lot like it could be a Tron Bonne skin.
Man Thing and Blade pls
Blade plz
Capcom is so weird sometimes. Every single MvC3/UMvC3 newcomer has an awesome move set, yet they say things like "Blade would be too similar to Dante" or "Punisher would be too similar to Chris" in interviews. If I can think up appropriate and unique move sets for characters like Blade and Punisher in five minutes then so can the people who gave us Phoenix Wright and M.O.D.O.K.
Without Deadpool I think Blade has a good chance to return as Marvel's sword guy.
I'd be happy with bringing back Taskmaster too.

Marvel got the rights to Blade back a few years ago.I wonder what the rights situation with Blade is.
Would be cool to see Punisher in. He was the first Marvel/Capcom crossover.
Taskmaster was great. They did do a good job of making Taskmaster and Deadpool different, although they still were similar.
It's more weird that Shuma Gorath was in Marvel Super Heroes to begin with.
On the heroes side, theres also the Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer, Daredevil, and Punisher.

As far as Fantastic Four DLC goes, I'd imagine that Marvel & Capcom would stick with having Super-Skrull represent all 4 of them (seeing as they already have Kl'rt's animations done) with maybe a few more Invisible Woman moves.FF, SS, DD and Punisher are all kind of surprising they've never really touched. I'm hoping they make it in, especially DD and Punisher due to my personal tastes.
They would have to be really creative to out RS, Loki or Fisk in and get a good moveset out of them. This isn't to say they don't deserve it character-wise but I think it would take some real creativity to make them work.
A Spiderman villain would be welcome. I was never a huge fan of how Venom played, but I wouldn't mind them taking another crack at him. Doc Oct and Green Goblin have potential and would make sense to be included. I think they could actually make a pretty cool kit for Heaven, but I don't think he's relevant enough to be included.
Marvel got the rights to Blade back a few years ago.
As for Deadpool & Taskmaster, they're nothing alike beyond both being mercenaries. Their gameplay styles in UMvC3 in particular are insanely different from one another, so I'm not sure how you could see the two as being even remotely similar in gameplay.
Both Spider-Man & MvCI are supposed to drop later this year, so the two over-lapping in their hype cycles is kinda inevitable.I wouldn't expect much info until the Spider-Man game drops tbh. They're juggling hype cycles.
Yeah, E3 would make sense, but until SM drops I don't think we'll be getting the continuous character trickle we're expecting and used to from games like MvC3 SFxT and SFV.Both Spider-Man & MvCI are supposed to drop later this year, so the two over-lapping in their hype cycles is kinda inevitable.
I.E. I fully expect MvCI news to be at E3.

Given the correction above, we may get MvCI first. But even if Marvel's mentioned release time-frame of 2017 still stands, there wouldn't be much room for reveals before MvCI's release if they wait for Spider-Man to come out (unless MvCI gets delayed all the way to Holiday 2018).Yeah, E3 would make sense, but until SM drops I don't think we'll be getting the continuous character trickle we're expecting and used to from games like MvC3 and SFV.
