I want Psylocke with a Pikachu costume alt but dat mutant ban ;_;

They will probably use DMC3 Dante (moveset, at least) simply because he's established and the most recognizable version of the character, and there's no better alternative currently. If this came out a year after DMC5, then they would use that version, just like they used RE5 Jill in 3.
That's probably what will happen but I think it would be real missed opportunity if DMC5 was to truly be announced at E3 2017 and come out sometime in 2018.

Keep in mind, PSABR was developed by Superbot Entertainment, a small time unproven newbie American studio. Of course no big third party publisher were going to put their sacred cows in that shit.

I think that's beside the point. They asked for Dante from Devil May Cry series and Capcom gave them Nu-Dante from DmC to promote that game. So it's not unprecedented for Capcom to promote newer versions of their older characters through cross over titles.

When do you think is a realistic release window for this game?

UMvC3 is coming to retail X1/PS4 and digital X1/PC in March, so it's safe to assume it'll be after that.

Any chance it makes it out in time for Evo 2017?

November 2017 would be a safe bet, along with potential delay.

Hmm...

SFV - PSX 2014 reveal, Feb 2016 release.
MVCI - PSX 2016 reveal, Feb 2018 release??

I know the trailer says 2017 but what if it gets delayed?

If they need to delay it so be it. No one wants a repeat of the SFV shit tier launch.

Though, I think we will get confirmation on final date at E3.

Also, I wonder if we will get new character trailer for CES next month!

They also said they're going to release it when they're ready, which, y'know can be PR schlock, but I think it's a sign of quality control on Marvel AND Capcom's part. Both can't risk it, with Marvel's new push for associating Marvel Games with quality and the backlash Capcom has faced with SFV and further back.

I think expecting a delay should be a norm these days. Honestly, every other day something is getting delayed. So just take any date publishers (Capcom or otherwise) say and add an extra 4-6 months to it, just to be safe.

Neoxon, do you know which Marvel games have been released since the character ban?

It would be interesting to look at the playable characters that have appeared in those games, as it might give us an idea of what to expect for Infinite.

I'm really hyped about Marvel, Capcom and even all these press releases commenting on the game's large Story Mode and additional single-player modes. It's from Capcom so I'm sure the gameplay will be tight but everything else man? This feels like something new. I'm move excited about this game than I was even when SFV was announced thus far.

Watch Iron-Man's armor get fucked up in story too. Always happens.

Is this where I start character-begging for Richard's Nova to return?

I do worry that Captain Marvel might be a tad too similar, but she looks more like a Phoenix replacement.

The good news is I think there is a very strong chance Nova makes this game.
The bad news is how do you feel about Sam Alexander?

Here is my actual prediction :

Marvel :
1) Iron Man
2) Captain Marvel
3) Captain America

10) Loki
11) Iron Fist
12) Black Panther
13) Howard the Duck
14) Squirrel Girl

3) Morrigan
4) Jill Valentine
5) Chun Li
6) Wesker
7) Arthur
8) Amaterasu
9) Phoenix Wright
10) Strider
11) Batsu
12) Viewtiful Joe
13) Felicia
14) Dante
15) Frank West
16) Lost Planet Dude
18) Monster Hunter dude

I don't disagree, but that's just these things go sometimes.

Whoops, Max claims SFV was primarily outsourced, which isn't true, as about 60% of the development was handled in-house.

How hard is Howard the Duck being pushed by Marvel, exactly?

I know he's in the MCU and all, but that was just a cameo at the end of GOTG. Unless they're brave enough to give him a new solo film, I don't really see him being a high priority for this game.

Not much

As this game's servbot.

Capcom is probably pushing hardest since they made lots of disney duck games in the nes and they love a classic reference

Low 30's? Sounds like 16 characters per side in the base for an even 32.

Marvel:
  1. Iron Man
  2. Captain Marvel
  3. Captain America
  4. Jane Thor
  5. Hulk
  6. Doctor Strange
  7. Star Lord
  8. Black Panther
  9. Rocket (Groot)
  10. Spider Man (+Miles Morales Variant)
  11. Ms. Marvel
  12. Scarlet Witch
  13. Thanos
  14. Loki
  15. Ultron
  16. Deadpool

Aside from a few big series, Capcom's out of my wheelhouse. But I do want Gene from Godhand and someone from Dragon's Dogma.

Yeah, give him moves from all the Donald classic games. Give him a cane like the Ducktales game, I can see it already.

Here's an interesting question, did C. Viper replace Frank West in Vanilla MVC3?

See, back when MVC3 was first announced in April 2010, there was actually this big leak that revealed a huge portion of the game's roster.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/995375-marvel-vs-capcom-3-fate-of-two-worlds/57826959

Unfortunately, the link to the leak is dead now, but Ryce did post its content here on GameFAQs awhile back.

Ryu
Morrigan
Chris
Dante
Felicia
Chun-Li
Trish
Amaterasu
Viewtiful Joe
Wesker
Tron
Spencer
Arthur
Zero
Haggar
Hsien-Ko
Akuma
Frank West

Wolverine
Iron Man
Hulk
Deadpool
Captain America
Doctor Doom
Super-Skrull
Thor
She-Hulk
Spider-Man
X-23
Magneto
Taskmaster
Shuma-Gorath
Mr. Fantastic
Elektra
Emma Frost
Juggernaut

It goes without saying that this was absolutely an earlier form of the game's final roster. 83% of the characters listed here ended up in the final base roster, some of them being characters nobody thought about prior to their reveal like X-23 and Taskmaster. Literally every single Capcom character listed here got in...except for Frank, who we know got cut. In his place, we had C. Viper.

Niitsuma stated that Frank couldn't make the cut because they didn't have enough time to finish him. I wouldn't say Viper was sloppily put in at the last minute, but I wonder if she was included to fill in for Frank due to being easier to develop, considering they could just take her moveset from SFIV.

Ha, I remember that topic from way back. It was pretty fun. The Viper silhouette had came out of nowhere.

Yeah, I wouldn't be shocked if MvCI got pushed back to February 2018. Plus it lines up with the Capcom Pro Tour, so it'd be a win-win situation (extra dev time for Capcom & it coinciding with the start of CPT 2018).

This game is making me happy that I got Lego Marvel Superheroes for... Some reason when it was on sale, instead of the star wars ones that I have some nostalgia for. Now I can catch up on all these Marvels in time for Mahvel!

I'm hoping Felicia makes it in. No particular reason, nope, none at all.

If we're not going to have X-Men/Fantastic Four I hope they still make really odd or obscure pics, that's my favorite part of a fighting game roster.

From Marvel I would like Mysterio, and anyone from the cast of the short-lived, super underrated series Avengers Undercover (Zemo is a real possibility, the others not so much but I can dream):

And from Capcom, let's get a robot master or two in there, please:

As far as stages, Knowhere seems a pretty safe bet, but I'd love to see them do a version of Planet Hulk's stadium:

IGN's rewind theatre video is good (they almost always are). Points out a lot of different moves and gameplay possibilities.

So venom is confirmed 100% right?

There's no way we have a mutant ban and are not getting venom...right!?

It doesn't even need to be announced because its just so obvious like Cap America....RIGHT.

Venom is fair game, but no rumors have pointed in his direction thus far.
