Me too. I would love to see Ryu, Nina and Fou-Lu. Heck, I would take any Breath of Fire representative. I have been asking for Breath of Fire rep ever since like TvC and MvC3.

Ryu, Nina, Myria and Fou-lu are the most appropriate BoF reps imo. Ryu and Nina are obvious. Fou-Lu is arguably the most popular villain, and Myria was the series' main antagonist from 1-3 (although absent in 2). I guess there's Bleu/Deis as well, as the most prominently recurring supporting character.

Ideally we would have more than one rep.

Yeah, I know, but I meant notable in the sense that, while she's a minor character, she's probably the most notable/popular character of the Avengers Academy alumni, is currently active, has been in multiple books over the past couple of years, and is fairly distinct in terms of design and abilities. She's not like, say, Dust, another character I really like and want, who's just stuck in the background permanently with nothing to do. Heck at this point Hazmat is probably more notably than Anya Corazon and a lot of other characters who've either had books of their own or been a main character or villain in a book in the past 10-15 years.

If BoF fans are pissed about whatever version of a character that's in the game, then their priorities are in the wrong place.

They could probably incorporate aspects of their other incarnations into their movesets, and have costumes of whatever version didn't make it.

So I don't really see it as that big an issue. I'd take anyone. Heck, I really really want Scias, Myria, Ursula, Garr, Rei or Teepo. I wouldn't say no to anyone else either. Or give me the big, fat Amalgam ghost from 3. I'll take it.

And please, no oh so clever "who?" comments, or anything like that. It's very played out. And silly, considering this is a series that has Amaterasu from Okami and Shuma-Gorath as playable characters.

This is not even that drastic of a change compared to other series.

It's like going from Halo 3 to Halo 4. Ok a lot of people are probably shuddering at the thought but it's not as big of jump as from RE6 to RE7 or DMC4 to DmC or BoF5 to 6.

And Phoenix Wright who should really be the one character to have unique dialogue for everyone or at least the most memorable has probably the worst dialogue of all. Yes, even worse than Nemesis.

As a huge X-23 fan her line after beating Ironfist was so out of character "Get a new act, dude. Kung fu is so 70's."

But in the case of Rocket, if what Ryce heard is true & Groot isn't his own character, he's probably gonna have to be remade from the ground-up to incorporate Groot.

I can see them just changing some of his specials and supers to include Groot.

Mega Man has a ton of different series that play differently and star different characters/versions of characters. TvC did it well since they had 3 characters representing 3 different series.

I don't want a cinematic story for fighting games, that kind of goes against the gameplay.

I think something along the lines of a world tour, with more story elements here and there is perfect as each character can have their own story. And rather than useless +1 to damage, or +1 to defense it could be like in action games like Bayonetta and DMC, where you unlock moves. It can be base moves like hadoken or special moves like in Smash Bros.

That way you get to know your character better and at the start you only have basic moves to work with so your forced to get creative with that character then learn moves then learn combos.

Or something that allows you to choose a character, get to know them and give meaningful progress which would do wonders for replayability.

What? How does an arcade mode with cutscenes goes against the gameplay, but a mode where the moves and their properties change doesn't??

Exactly, the only reason some people are worried is because the MCU focus for MvCI could be interpreted as "only characters who are currently in the MCU or will be in the near future". Of course Marvel isn't gonna ignore their biggest rising star.
