Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Characters and Stages Roster Discussion Thread

Still hoping we get a Spider-Man villain. I feel like this is really necessary for Infinite.

Eddie Brock is Venom again so I think he's likely.

I'm guessing there will be about five or six villains in the game.

Venom, Ultron, Loki/Hela/Dormammu, Sigma, Wesker and Lord Raptor/Jedah.

I'm still bummed about Doc Ock in umvc3. We were so close :[

Would be cool to have him show up in Infinite though.

After hearing Niitsuma say they had artwork and an actual theme finished for him, it just stung even more....

I really wonder what technical issues he presented in the game. I'm sure it had to do with his tentacles, but I'd like to know why it was a problem.

Don't get my hopes up outta nowhere
7000 posts without a single new info since reveal trailer.

How awesome is that ?

It's mahvel baybee

You know, I'm really curious to see how Star Lord would potentially play if he were to be included. I could already imagine him as a zoner.

Yup same. With tools like the 2H from Rocket Raccoon in MvC3.

(Or watch him being a rushdown character with a tri-dash and a flight mode because wtf not ahah)

I'm not really sure why anyone would want the ladder to reset every couple of months. They do a "soft reset" in League of Legends every season and it's annoying having people in games way below thier skill level.

Granted in a fighting game it's 1v1 so it's less of an issue as one person wins a quick match rather than 5 people play through a miserable match for 45 minutes and the other 4 get carried, I still don't see any value to the reset.

Aside from that I agree with the rest of your post 100%.

Yo, sorry for the late answer. I respect 100% your opinion, but i feel like the ladder is becoming stale real quick in a fighting game. Like today, if you want to play against the best players, you pretty much have to farm the shit out of the ladder to catch up with the "best" and have a chance to fight them.

I feel like the win % should be more important, and should help you find better players. With a reset every X months + placement matches, it would reinvigorate the players you play against, and you wouldn't feel like you're farming only to play against better players.

And with stuff like rewards at the end of the season based on your %win / points, you'll get a good incentive to play seriously in that mode and try to do your best. By rewards it could be a title, colors... I think it's great because like Diablo, League of Legends, etc... A new season is always a good motivation to go back in Ranked mode / on the game.

(Sorry for my bad english :p)

I'm amazed it took until MvC3 for Thor to get in a fighting game. MvC2 had so many obscure characters from both side, and while Thor wasn't a huge character then, he was at least above Spiral.

At least Spiral gave us a cool way to play in that game (Based Duc Do)

And don't forget that Spiral's sprite and animations came from Xmen Cota, which means no extra work for Capcom :p

All good. I really didn't quite get why the ladder reset is desirable, but I kind of get it now. It sucks having your rank drop in League and blowing up a bunch of games way below your skill level to get back up. However it totally does get people back into ranked every season so there's certainly an argument that it does more good than harm.

I didn't quite look at that with the cause and effect relationship until you pointed that out.

He was one of the core avengers. I think he's bigger now than he was prior to the movies, but he was probably more important to the marvel universe than 1/3rd of the marvel characters that made it into MvC2.

Although technically he was in MvC1, but he was only an assist.

I wonder if Capcom ever considered having a playable Thor in the older games. While he was an assist only, I have a feeling Capcom might've worked on him to an extent.

Either way, he needs that hammer toss in Infinite.

I'm positive he was at least considered. I personally don't think he turned out all that great in 3, so I think him not lending himself to being a good playable character is probably why he never made it in prior.

I hope this game plays more like Tatsunoko. TBH I'm sorta glad Assists are gone if it means there won't be anymore Hidden Missiles, though I'd much rather it be done like MSHvSF and TvC where each character has one Assist.

I mean if I'm forced to choose between Tag-Ins and Assists littering every inch of the screen I'd rather the former. At least the former is legible.

Well, Capcom said they had a plan for hammer toss for Thor in MVC3 but it got cut at the end for some reason. I guess balance reason or something like that. At least, his hammer toss is in one of those super move.

I don't care what they say, I just don't think this game's gonna be released this year.

That's fine with me if it's in case since I want them to take their time with the development.

When I read I was thinking you were joking =P

I don't really feel like I post that much and I know that I didn't post that much lately. On other subject, I don't mind to see Coulson being one of those joke character in MVCI.

The English MvCI site went up sometime in the last week.

http://marvelvscapcominfinite.com/

I wonder if that meant they are getting ready to share more details or what?

Don't bother going through the source. Nothing in there.

Guys I figured out a major leak.

The font is PT-Sans-Narrow. The guy from PT and Sans from Undertale are playable.
