Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Characters and Stages Roster Discussion Thread

Yeah, back in December I was told X-Men and Fantastic Four characters would be DLC. I haven't heard anything to indicate that those plans have changed since.
 
That's the list champ posted on twitter that he hopes is revealed.

What do you mean? We'd have it be arcade only with the only console version at first being be a Switch port in 2019, with a JP-exclusive PS5 port in 2024?
 
I forgot who it was - someone on GAF or maybe Maximillian - but I remember someone pointed out the Strider copyright was updated for the UMvC3 rerelease. And said that it would make sense for Capcom to put Strider in 4 if they're already paying for him in the UMvC3 re-release.

So I'm not surprised.

They revealed back at the Playstation Experience that they brought in veteran developers that worked on the older games such as X-Men COTA, Marvel Super Heroes, X-Men Vs Street Fighter, etc, for Infinite. The game is being developed in-house and not being outsourced this time around. The director of Infinite worked on all of those games as well.

So honestly, I think we're good.

Yep. First internally developed Capcom fighter in a long time. (What was the last one, anyway? CvS2? Capcom Fighting Evolution?)

I didn't even know Capcom still had their arcade division staff sticking around these days.

It'd still be uneven even if they don't show Ultron gameplay. (and I feel pretty confident they will)

The full press release, screens, videos, etc. might show off two more Capcom characters who weren't actually at the event. I feel like that's happened before.
 
So is a new thread going to be made when stuff drops for real? I see this bump and fall for it every time.

I am too lazy to pester friends and rely on you guys.

Yeah I didn't like that plastic toy with bland colours look the reveal gameplay had. Hopefully they improve it to make it more vibrant like MvC3.
 
I think the visuals are good. Hell downgrade them a little if it ensures 60fps.

And with all the effects and movement the visuals will look better during matches I think.
 
Yeah, Chris Redfield! Would like to see Leon sometime, but Chris does just fine, and that's a pretty good sign Wesker is making it over too which is equally awesome.

Feeling better about Zero's chances since they're likely using as much as they can from 3. I need that X and Zero team.
 
So I guess the question now is if we're gonna see a bunch of "ported" character from umvc3 who do we think WON'T be coming back and AREN'T xmen/ff since we know they'll be dlc if/when they happen.
 
Strider getting potentially announced early makes me happy :o

I don't mind waiting until e3 for Dante, but pls give him to me sooner than later

I dunno, I feel like with Sigma's chances of being in there being at 99% as well as X, they might feel like Zero is overkill.
 
Digging the 8 returning characters. I expect we'll get more and more newcomers and bizarre choices as we get closer and closer to release.


1 newcomer + 7 UMVC3 characters per announcement is ok with me. 50+ character roster leggoooooooo

I'm wondering. I think Rashid and a third RE rep are guaranteed. Is it really fine to have nine characters from three franchises in a roster that might not break 40?

Tron, Trish, Felicia, Hsien-Ko, Nemesis, C.Viper, Firebrand, and Shuma-Gorath are hella dead.

I don't think Nova and Taskmaster are coming back either
