Fuck that story demo tbh I just want a demo like the KOF XIV one is that too much to ask for?
I absolutely agree, it shows the worst parts of the game and uses their incomplete lighting which makes the game look a lot worse than the E3 build (graphically).
Capcom is kind of blundering their way through this generation. I want more good fighting games but this is the first Capcom game I'm passing on on release. I've been burned twice. I hope people enjoy the game, but a lot of people aren't hyped and are really upset with how they've treated us in the past as customers.
IMO it's important to remove the bias from what people are saying. Top players are going to be biased towards a successful game they're good at if it's their primary source of income. It's an inherent bias. It's like backing up your friend even if he does something stupid. I don't think they're shills, but I do think that bias is very real.
I think everyone wants to see good fighting games released, but people should judge the game for themselves. There's a lot of people who don't like it, legitimately, and are not trying to take it down as some sort of vendetta. There are people who can look past the questionable graphical quality, heavily reused resources, the possibly predatory DLC structure, and uh, well the story maybe some people like that style of ham, but I don't think it's even unintentionally entertaining from what I've played. The people who can look past that and find a gameplay system they like, or subjectively enjoy some of those things, that's cool for them. I hope everyone gets along and likes what they like.
But there are valid criticisms and I hope everyone takes them seriously. I am pretty upset at Capcom releasing a game that simply does not look like it lives up to the standards they should be reaching, but everyone is entitled to liking what they like and I won't knock that.
arent you also biased because in your own words "youve been burned twice"? or does it only go one way?
Hence "people should judge the game for themselves."
Hence "people should judge the game for themselves."
People are doing that and being told their opinions don't mater because it doesn't fit the narrative that others want to create.
And they're doing that to people who don't like the game in return. I'm saying everyone can like what they please, and that everyone should understand why people like/don't like it. I don't like the game so far but I think everyone's entitled to give it a shake and fall in love with it. Don't take Justin, or any hater's word, as gospel; try to understand why they formed that opinion and form your own.
The fact that any discussion is being framed in this manner - shills and nils, as were, is definitely a testimony to failure at some juncture.
lol, that's not true. Those guys play the heck out of SFV.Which is weird, because I don't think anyone there plays or buys fighting games anyway.
is it safe to assume at this point that we're gonna get some second wave of DLC, or an ultimate MVCI, which has x-men in it?
I'm hearing how DBFZ is killing this game hype wise, but this thread is always on the first page and the dragonball one is no where to be seen.
Hmmmmmm

You're judging a game's hype level based on how frequently people are posting in the roster speculation thread when said game is also at least 8-9 months away with still very little concrete details announced?I'm hearing how DBFZ is killing this game hype wise, but this thread is always on the first page and the dragonball one is no where to be seen.

The shilling commentary has gotten way out of hand.
I can understand complaints about shilling when Justin and co are invited to Capcom VIP posting pics of the experience and then using #MVCI to tweet out their impressions. That's suspect as hell but not even that out of the ordinary in the past.
At this point way too many people have gotten hands on the game and the general consensus is that the game is hella fun and Marvel like. Everyone is not a shill so people need to get off with this shit asap because it doesn't promote healthy discussion.
People still complaining about shills now are just those with agendas and want this game to be bad so they can justify their hatred towards the game or Capcom.
I may be a minority but the demo blew me away and sent me from "I hope this game fails fuck Capcom and Marvel" to cautiously hyped. Also Xgard is an awesome stage IMO. I understand a lot of the complaints and they are all justified but I don't get how people are complaining about the stage. Vakanda looks especially gorgeous
Rip KOFXIV. You were the first was that was supposed to "kill" SFV.The problem with Capcom fighters is that nobody can keep them out of their mouths. Haters talk about Capcom games so much they forget to talk about and support the games they actually like.
All this shilling narrative has gotten so tired and absurd to the point of being funny, so whenever I see someone say it I just get to think that person is an idiot and carry on.
do you think that Capcom will adjust the hitstun on the time storm gem? Ive seen several videos of Justin Wong getting one hit and spamming jab until the opponent is dead.
Also i know chip damage has changed in this game but can you die from chip damage in the reality storm?(the one where your normals produce different elemental effects)
thx
They're matching the MCU stones.Has there been any explicit reason by Capcom as to why they've changed the colors of the Infinity Gems?
Bit sad that.I just noticed there's an actual tagged post about why you shouldn't buy MVC on Kappa.
Which is weird, because I don't think anyone there plays or buys fighting games anyway.

I admit, I was wrong for calling them a shill.
Sure, they might not get paid by money, but by other means. They have to be on Capcom good side if they want to capitalize of this game. If guys like Yipes and them bad mouth the game, Capcom probably won't invite them to commentate, won't fly them out launch party, won't probably get an invite to their own invitation tournament or whatever event they are planning to do. These players are obviously going to need to give positive vibes to make a living of the game.

Does anybody actually use r/Kappa for anything other than soft core porn? Like despite being "a fighting game sub" they hate fighting games there especially anything Capcom has ever put out
Why is it so hard for some people to understand that most people who've actually gotte na chance to play MVCI like it? Like, is it really that big of a stretch to some people. The demo may blow but the game looks fun to play when in VS mode.
Man, I was all into this thread before all of the shilling talk started and it's STILL going on. You guys suck.
Is there any indication of what the capcom side of the dlc characters might be besides sigma?

Well when the excitement for the game is from pro players minute hands on impressions and nothing else, people become wary of those opinions. A lot of people here would prefer an echo chamber of opinions about how great this game plays and holding onto impressions from specific players who have a vested interest in this games success like it's the gospel.
Weird that the discussion is still going on, surely everyone should be on twitter reading these impressions and not forming their own opinions based on everything they've seen and played.

MVCi is like finding out your daughter does porn. From hearing about it to watching it in motion. It's so terrible.
SFV Chun to MVCi Chun is like watching those before and after meth photo ops.

Right. Well I should be very wary of pro players opinions on DBF then.
Pretty much everyone is positive on DBF though.
