wtf is up with gief?

so thats Dormammu and Nemesis "confirmed". RIP 28 character roster.

Not that 30 is much better :3

Capcom did this to themselves. They found a way to kill the hype for a Mavel Vs. Capcom game. They accomplished something I didn't think was possible.

EVO Exhibition makes me think we'll see new characters on display there, with trailers and a new build at SDCC.

This is the perfect place to unveil Jedah, after all.

"Capcom is gonna reveal a new Season 2 character at evo"

"makes sense but it won't happen because Capcom"

*capcom reveals a new season 2 character at evo*

"wtf"
Capcom does some questionable shit, but they aren't completely foreign to doing the logical thing.

At least it is good to know we're past that 28 character roster. Anyone got the "updated" leak? Which is looking more and more likely with each of these covers.
I really want this to do good but I don't know what they can do in such short notice to turn around all of the negative word of mouth.

the turning point is to announce the X-men thats it, sadly for this game thats it. All the negative is coming from exclusions in the roster. You can bet your ass if the next trailer had wolverine and dead pool a majority of the agendas would stop.

No way Capcom can turn the tide. This game isn't going to do well it's sad. 2 months from launch and they are acting like this game is coming out in December or something. We are still waiting on the complete roster and modes to be revealed.

The full roster not being revealed yet isn't strange. MvC3 got character announcements up until the last minute.

I heard Groot would be an assist for Rocket (though I didn't know in what capacity) back in December, so I doubt he was ever going to be playable.

The game needs a delay regardless. It isn't ready.
A delay is a good way to ensure the game fails.

The game doesn't need a delay just because a few faces need to be tuned up either. The game is otherwise feature complete, and if indeed it has a 32-34 character roster, a healthy count at that. A delay wouldn't change selection, which is the biggest concern of people.

So how should Nemmy be a better character in this one
Not much is needed to be honest.

Better start up on armor on his moves.

Better angles on his rockets/tentacles both on ground and in air (should be possible with 4 button layout).

Improve his hypers, LVL3 should have actual invincibility/can be comboed off of, the punch super needs hyper armor and cause wall bounce at the end that can comboed from.

Just improve his numbers he should be fine. Marvel Infinite system is good for a character like Nemesis.

How the hell can you claim the game is feature is complete? We have not seen any of the modes yet.

It's not about reaching bare minimum completion standards, it's about delivering a polished title. The visuals/UI/animations do NOT give the impression that it is polished.

Tons of games have been delayed that were better for it. You forgot how many times RE4 was delayed? Or what about Red Dead Redemption 2, Horizon and the Half Life games. Quality can't be rushed out of the door, this game has the rushed smell all over it... you can smell it a mile away.

So Zero's Rekkoha returns, but it's changed from MVC3.

A delay is a good way to ensure the game fails.

This game is a complete joke in the eyes of the casuals and overall general public. Delaying it means there's an opportunity for things to be changed around and give the product a better impression than it currently has. What makes you think there's no inevitable failure for the current product?

i agree with this , they just have to pull the trigger for XMen characters announced as DLC

If this were E3 I would say new characters because they'd have the players spend some time with the new build. Given this is Evo and the players who will be in the exhibition are almost certainly playing in UMvC3 and/or SF5, they wouldn't have time to put on a good show with new characters.

I think we'll get character announcements, but I don't think we'll see those characters played in the exhibition.

Will Capcom delay the game? Probably not, it's too close to release date by now and Capcom seems to have it locked in.

Should Capcom delay the game? If you don't think the game should be delayed then you are probably either a shill or have stocks invested in Capcom. Because clearly the quality of the product is not as important as Capcom making the right amount of earning in a particular quarter.

So what are we at now?

X
Ryu
Jedah
Spencer
Chun-Li
Morrigan

Delaying it confirms people's suspicions it's a joke, disrupts the release date marketing, and makes people mentally shelf the game permanently, likely not paying attention to it again.

What is the benefit to a scenario where something is a joke, gets delayed, the devs have to put months into an apology tour with brand new marketing materials, likely doubling their marketing budget to reinforce that the game is different now over enough of a period of time, etc. and the game does better? The marketing is the biggest thing here, you spend all this time reiterating a release date only to delay it and then have to start semi-from-scratch. Even if they crafted the best apology tour with additional content possible (which, not only is outside of Capcom's capacity for timely goodwill, but likely means acquiescing to super unreasonable demands of the community ATM of adding a shit ton of new characters for more women and X-men etc.), you think they'd see enough of a surge in sales to cover that sort of investment? That's even before you think about the time it takes to make that content.

Delaying a game is meme territory as far as business practices goes. It's the kiss of death for consumer confidence unless you're Rockstar. Otherwise, people forget about games as soon as they hear they get delayed, regardless of context.

Hell no. Release the game, fix it later, ideally with good will/free updates. Delaying the game to ensure it only gets a fraction of the player base is not a smart or desirable alternative.

this is not true at all. games get delayed all the time. in fact we'll probably hear about how some of the announced fall games will slip into next year in the coming months. I know some have already done so.

Worked great for SFV!

Those games usually don't have specific release dates or are this close to release. It's something like a vague Fall 2017 turning into a 2018 usually. That's where undermining confidence occurs.

This game has alot of negativity already, delaying the game will bring about a lot of I told you so. It's too late.
