Very few countries, including ones with questionable reporting (especially Asian countries like Japan which had ◯‍◯‍◯‍◯‍◯ reasons to lie).

Germany is really the only country that seemed to respond very well. The US has performed better than most European countries, as evidenced by our per capita stats. I'm not sure what else the US really could have done - unlike Germany, we have a very decentralized government, but even then we have done well.

The big east coast outbreaks seemed to come from Europe. The northern Italy outbreak really screwed over the western world. TONS of people apparently went skiing this winter and the virus was somehow ALL over that area.

If we could get a re-do, we should have shut down travel to Europe sooner I guess, but that wouldn't have been popular then either.

It would have still gotten here eventually anyway - the asymptomatic spread and it being aerosolized guaranteed it. But if it somehow didn't the media would have downplayed deaths in Europe and denied any deaths or cover up in China and started screaming about Trump trying to create a national emergency to delay the election, or similar nonsense. We all know this would have happened - it's been their MO for 3 long ass years.

I already commented on the idiocy of the same people screeching about how Trump killed people by not shutting the economy down in February now screeching that he does not have the ability to reopen it. These are the exact same thing.

I will say that Trump can be incredibly inarticulate when he's riffing, which leads to the perfect opportunity for the press to try and get gotchas, but it's always so obvious when he's just "SAYING" things or ideas instead of specifics.

What was Trump supposed to do to stop 20 million people from being unemployed from the country shutting down?

Instead of asking questions, the media just throws out big numbers without context. Nothing was ever going to stop the country from shutting down. We were never going to be able to contain this without shooting/incinerating people who cough in public like China and NK do, and even then they didn't do it.

Besides, the media was calling it "just a flu" then:
