Yeah the fixation on cases to implement more lockdowns and restrictions is beyond stupid. It lacks any nuance for a start. How many of these cases actually end up with a hospital stay? How many in ICU? How many does it basically amount to cold or flu for? How many have the dreaded no symptoms but can still spread it? If the media only started reporting cases that end in ICU, which really they should be as thats when peoples lives are at stake, then I'm pretty sure this 'pandemic' is over next week.

This happened one state over from me, and was pretty funny to watch play out in real time. 17 cases popped up there one day (in a population of nearly 2 million) after a couple of months or so of zero, and queue: FULL PANIC MODE!!! Insta-lockdown that nearly puts Wuhan to shame. People apparently lined up for 10-11 hours to be tested. Dunny rolls all disappeared again.

We can’t know. But I read what she said and she doesn’t mention being in a hospital or on a ventilator. I have seen a lot of people who have been very very sick from covid. The ones who are about to die are in hospitals on a lot of oxygen or on ventilators.

Now maybe she’s just trying to keep the details private. I could respect that except she’s not keeping it private. She’s using this to scare other people. If she is going to do that, she kind of owes people the details about what she is talking about so they understand what they are supposed to be afraid of. Ignorant fear is actually counter productive.

In the UK between 19000 and 29000 people died, vs 58000 so far this year for COVID. It's not orders of magnitude different, but honestly I don't even remember it being a thing anyone even bothered to talk about back then. In the US 50000 people died vs a likely inflated 260000 for COVID (remember, nobody was getting extra money for flu deaths and there wasn't quite so much interest in the flu vs COVID so it was more likely the underlying cause would be recorded rather than flu).

Then recently WHO sponsored a massive study in over 30 countries and +40k cases iirc that suggests it has little to no effect. This hasn't been peer reviewed yet so the verdict is still out. The PCR positive case numbers are the most misused and bad faith thing I've ever seen in my lifetime. Even the NYT wrote an article about this. They are destroying our lives over this stupid test. They are digging up all these "cases" and scaring people for no reason. It is why so many people "test positive" and "feel fine." It is why Japan and South Korea are still functioning without doing any of this testing.

99% of the tests being done are a waste of time and causing horrible damage. Test people if they go to the hospital and present symptoms. That's all that is needed. For the rest of us, exercise precautions and stay home if you are scared. There, that's it, now let's live our lives.

My loss of smell and taste has upsides. I can get drunk without tasting or smelling any alcohol. I can now eat green vegetables without any effort. The only thing I do notice is still somewhat enjoyable is Ice cream. I believe this is because I still have a sense of taste at the back of my throat and usually ice cream gathers in the saliva quite a bit and gathers in the throat area.

We should never have locked down but instead had government subsidized isolation for the "at risk" groups which are well established at this point. The world has to continue going round and everyone would eventually get pissed off. The powers that be worsened the problem by taking measures upon everybody for an illness that will feel like a pile of nothing to most. They've declared more "lockdowns" here again but I haven't seen a supermarket queuing system in 6 months like they started out with.

I'm where I'm at, because this virus only really kills old and/or frail people. The average age of death is right around most places average life expectancy. That's a fact. Also a fact is over 99% of reported cases recover just fine. Also a fact is this virus is so deadly that alot of younger and healthier people have it and don't even know it. Also a fact is a large number of recorded deaths have multiple other comorbidites. Also a fact is the questionable test results and all the false positives. Most countries don't have any large jump in their annual death count. Fact. Some countries I've seen, CV barely rates in the top 20 causes of death for the year. Fact.

Combine all that (and more), and the way the msm have sensationalized the hell out of this thing, and it completely befuddles me that there are still people out there buying into all the fear mongering.

Show me a similar sort of virus that kills young and healthy people in similar sorts of numbers, and then I'll take it seriously.

This is my experience. I can't exactly say how long I've had it but I've have a suspicion for up to 12 days now and I only lost my sense of smell and taste by day 10. If I did not know corona virus existed I would be going about my business with a very very minor cold-like illness. The alternative is that I only developed it yesterday, but highly in doubt. I'm very sure I've had it a week at least because of all the other "typical" minor cold-like symptoms like a sore throat (for like a few seconds while eating some ice cream), feverish, some tiredness, extra hunger. Listing the symptoms like that makes it sound way more severe than it is, I would write them off if I wasn't looking for them and keeping a mental note.

Relative is now at ICU with a ventilator. 60+ with hypertension and a BMI of somewhere up to 40. Nearly died "from COVID" after fainting and injury. Fingers crossed. Rule #1 of COVID is don't be obese, as potential matter of life or death.
