How do you prove you've been vaccinated? A little piece of paper that seems like it would be easy to forge?

I'm not surprised at AZ, given the EU's history with them. But the J&J? Now it seems the EU are frightened to procure a vaccine with a 0.00009% chance of blood clots.

Keep surfing that third wave..

That's the stuff that worries me... How much freedom is enough freedom to sacrifice for (the illusion) of safety?

Thank you so much for looking out for our freedoms. Not sure where we would be without you 😉

Well, I mean those extra COVID deaths have to come from somewhere, right?

Canada faces devastating third Covid wave

Justin Trudeau is under fire as Covid-19 cases per capita in Canada overtake the US for the first time amid a devastating third wave driven by new variants that are leaving younger people severely ill.

Cases in the country, which won plaudits for its early response to the pandemic, recently hit 207.3 per million people, according to data from Johns Hopkins University, exceeding the 206.7 per million in the United States, whose response was widely criticised before vaccinations were ramped up. On Monday, Canada recorded a record 10,859 new cases.

Infectious disease experts blame the resurgence on “pandemic fatigue”, the premature easing of restrictions and more transmissible and dangerous variants, including the UK variant.

Astrazeneca is too tainted now. The blood clot issue and the cherry picked data will just make more sceptics.

Heck, here in Australia a 48 year old woman's death has been linked to her getting the jab. Even if it is proven that the vaccine had no role in her death, the reputational damage has been done.

Roll on the Pfizer vaccine instead.

"A new Oxford study" eh?
Would be much more believable had they not claimed "it's lower than normal" some time earlier.
The appalling part here is UK's NHS coverage for it.

Denmark quits AZ altogether:

This is how German deliveries look like (so, to date, 15 million BioNTech-Pfizers, 5.58m AZ, 1.76M Moderna):

QG68tRi.png

And new Marburg (Germany) site promising 250m BioNTech jabs a quarter, starting with Q2.

AZ is notably NOT suspended for older people.

The blood clot issue and the cherry picked data
What "cherry picked data"?
9 young women died in Germany alone.
People from the group that has close to zero chances of dying from an actual Wulhan Virus.

I'm baffled at how people trusted Fauci. I never heard of him before covid. He has that Hillary Clinton effect on me. Just comes off as a mad scientist.

Do people really still listen to him? Every youtube video with him gets ratio'd to hell.

you ever notice that the scientists and experts that study and understand this stuff have a lot of trust and reverence for Fauci but those who have no idea what is going on don't trust him at all. In fact, the less they understand this stuff, the more they vilify him? I wonder it all works :pie_thinking:

There are plenty who don't. Dr. Marty Makary at Johns Hopkins for example. The Great Barrington Declararion. They just get censored by Facebook and Twitter or smeared/ignored by CNN.

There is lots of hate towards him, that doesn't mean he deserves it.

Those people are credible and their criticisms are legit and worthwhile; Fauci would happily admit. None of these people will slander Fauci the way a Trump supporter does, and none of them are being actively censored or smeared lol

Many other countries have their own health experts and do not give a shit what Fauci thinks. And because of this many countries took a more nuanced approach instead of lazy blanket one size fits all lock downs.

Uruguay, Japan, and Qatar to name a few.

In Florida Gov DeSantis had a one hour panel duscussion with a group of well known and qualified experts who were ignored by the msm from the start. They concluded schools should not be closed, vaccine passports are unwarranted, and that states like NY and CA have gone way too far with covid policy.

I think youtube took it down.

Possibly because lesser countries won't be done with pandemic for a while.

People who say it will turn into annual procedure, don't understand even basics about viruses.

He also said it’s possible people will need to get vaccinated against the coronavirus annually.

Apparently, the Pfizer CEO doesn't understand even basics about viruses.

Vaccines for those that want them, and COVID for everyone are here to stay.

I do hope that a vaccine comes in the next 5yrs that stops transmission. But if it doesn't, then yeah I imagine regular jabs will become part of life for those that want them..

YouTube has famously said it will take down anything that contradicts the current cdc guidelines in order to curb the spread of misinformation.

"Children should not wear face masks,” Kulldorff said in response to DeSantis’s question. “They don’t need it for their own protection, and they don’t need it for protecting other people either.”

“I think it’s developmentally inappropriate and it just doesn’t help on the disease spread,” Bhattacharya added about mask-wearing for children.

Seeing that the current cdc guidelines recommends children 2 and up wear a mask, naturally the video was taken down.

If the data eventually shows that mask wearing for children is completely useless and does not curb transmission, the cdc will adjust their guidelines. It does not mean they are wrong!! It's how this works - It's not perfect, but it's the best we have.

It's the same with china virus. Until we have compelling evidence that the virus originated from the wuhan lab, there is only harm that can result from saying it (ie hate crimes against asian americans that have nothing to do with the CCP). It does not mean they are wrong!!

A third shot I could understand, but isn't COVID-19 likely to die out, since most mass vaccinations wipe out viruses? I feel like we're missing a part of the explanation here, as to why COVID-19 should be expected to have new strains every year that require new vaccinations, or even why it should be seasonal.

The problem with this is that whether we like it or not the CDC is a political talking piece pushing agenda. Look no further than how quickly they changed their guidance based on pushback from teachers unions about schools reopening. They went from saying schools could reopen with masks and distancing to "teachers need to be vaccinated first." That wasn't science. It was politics.

I don't care what YouTubes guidelines are, when the CDC is a political tool that sets at least some of its guidance based on political pressure those guidelines lack credibility. Other experts should be allowed to voice their opinion in places like YouTube. Whether you like it or not YouTube is acting as the thought police and censoring views that are arguably as credible, if not more so, than the CDC.

I get what you are saying BTW, I just fundamentally disagree with YouTubes policy because of how much of this pandemic has been handled.

He was asked "is it possible".
It is indeed possible.

But quite unlikely.

A booster shot 6-12 months from now, to address Brazilian/South African variant at times when we expect C19 to be still raging across the globe, just not in The West (tm), is almost a given.

Elaborate on those two thoughts.
Seasonal virus jabs are made against a family of easily mutating viruses.
Since they mutate a lot, there is a wild variety of them.
Typical jabs contains a cocktail aimed at a handful of those viruses, that are expected to be the "most popular" in a given year.

C19 is very different. It doesn't mutate so wildly. We could kill it for good, as with SARS/MERS.

There are two reasons really.
Coronavirus immunity may only last a set amount of time, say a year, so it wanes down and you can get it again.
Second is mutations. Immunity puts evolutionary pressure on the virus to find ways to evade it, and you already see that happening in some new strains.

There is already too much coronavirus out in the wild to wipe it out.

There was always "too much of" something, that had been eliminated by mass vaccinations.
The ability of that "something" to mutate is crucial here, and C19 isn't one of the too flexible types.

The US study on the efficacy of the AZ vaccine cherry picked data.

The data was skewed to make it look slightly more effective.

Note sure why you mentioned the deaths as a rebuttal. I actually agree with you generally.

The European Commission chief said the total doses EU countries will receive from Pfizer will now be 250 million in the second quarter of this year. (instead of planned 200)

"This will substantially help consolidate the roll-out of our vaccination campaigns. I want to thank BioNTech-Pfizer," she told reporters from Brussels.
"It has proven to be a reliable partner. It has delivered on its commitments, and it is responsive to our needs." (unlike we know who, cough)

Oh do they now? So the answer is more lockdowns even though the country has been locked down tighter than an Amish man’s butthole in a gay bar?

Yeah fuck these “experts” whoever they are.
