First of all I am not American and I do not live in the USA. OK?

Second, you glossed over the fact that many Americans are practicing social distancing and this will slow the virus spread and buy some time to better deal with accelerating rates of infection and outbreaks going forward.

Third, I asked you to define "there won't even be a USA" and you've completely dodged answering that by ranting about money and guns.

Do you think the USA will fracture because of this and become several independent nations or do you literally think that everyone there will die?

Why are countries deliberately tanking their economies if this is 'no big deal'? Ignoring all the stats out there on deaths and infections, the very reaction of the governments, almost universally around the world (apart from the crackpots like Bolsonaro), is the most convincing argument for me, that yes, we should be quite worried.

You can argue that they are doing it for "control" but you ain't controlling shit if the people whose lives you torpedo financially, revolt against you and vote you out of power.

Even if you think Trump is full of it you can take personal responsibility and personal measures to protect yourself and those around you.

The evidence is there that all across America people are taking precautions and have been doing so for weeks.
How long since PAX, GDC and E3 were cancelled/postponed?
I think some sports were played behind closed doors and others were cancelled?

So the truth on the ground in the USA is that people are taking massive widespread action.
Of course, people are also dying and this should not be glossed over. It is serious.

The focus on the number of cases is fine but if the numbers are similar to other countries then they must have tested almost 1 million people by now (since a high % of tests come back negative). That's not bad going.

I think there is room to be reserved and optimistic on top of being scared and understanding that it's serious.

Some just don't want to hear it.
You either see it EXACTLY as they do or you're a gun-toting, money-worshipping, Trump-supporting, flat earther.

Here's what the hard part would be. Lets say after this the world collectively works toward preparing for the next 1 in 100 year event. Progress goes smoothly at first as the harmful events are in recent memory. The next generations come and decide to not care. 100 years later and we are in the same problem. I'd call us the previous "Next Generation". People call for this magic thing called "automation" to solve the problem of people not caring. Personally, I can see it making things even worse as fewer people won't know how to do anything when the poop starts running up hill.

Just my own ramblings which I know I don't take seriously enough.

Oh, and children as well as young fertile women are least affected.
