The guy who died was one of many.
I think that religious leaders carry more weight and should face more scrutiny than the organizer of a block party.

I don't want it to seem like I'm excusing it either. Whoever set up the party is a stupid asshole, and the people who attended are idiots.
The arguments about racism and the virus don't exactly fly with me either.
Poor people are more at risk, as are people who don't listen to government guidelines, or those who believe conspiracy theories. None of that is exclusive to poor black people, it's poor people everywhere.

Gavin Newsom is holding CA hostage. He says he won't lift the lockdown until they have the ability to track everyone in the state. He wants a big brother police state and if he won't get it he won't lift the lockdown.

Case fatality is a bit useless given it's heavily impacted by how much testing is being done - ie if you only test people with severe symptoms you get a 12% cfr for instance.

I think the block party is more a picture into what's likely going on everywhere, less in the public eye. Not really a callout of that one specific organizer. Churches are far more likely to be seen and reported for doing such, even though by law I don't know if you can stop either. But of course, they should be scrutinized heavily, all of them.

For the most part, nothing feels different. She even said she's not even coughing or sneezing.
