This looks stunning. More realistic than anything else I've seen out of the 360.

so far this is the 360 game that makes the most difference in motion, the teaser trailer looks awesome

Looks alright. I get a Doom3 feeling from it though. I'd like to see pics show more expansive environments.

I get the Metroid Prime vibe from it. I love the soft shadows and the strive for realism. It's good not to see the over-the-top shaders and bump/normal mapping here.

As good as this looks now, I have faith that BioWare will deliver an impressive story, and good play mechanics on top of the pretty graphics to create a great game.

old shots taken from the first teaser trailer released

Still, it really is gorgeous. I'd love to work at Bioware, but they're located in quite an inhospitable place (Edmonton, home of igloos) where I'd freeze. They should move to Vancouver.

Anyway, ME is truly one of the games I'm looking foward too. Its using UE3 and I think it is also going to be a trilogy like Too Human.

agreed. as far as the trailer went, the most impressive aspect was seeing it in motion and how fluid the animation appeared. hope thats indicitive of the actual gameplays animation.

It's so disappointing to see such a generic and bland setting and atmosphere come from Bioware after Jade Empire, which was wickedly original and refreshing in that regard.

Nevertheless, I can't wait to see more of this one.

I agree. Love the look of this one.

...Sarcasm?

Considering we know next to nothing about this game so far, I'll reserve judgement on how generic and bland the setting is for after more story elements are revealed and screenshots are released. These look like early images to give us an idea of what the game is going to look like, with not all the assets in the game yet.

Excellent! :)

This is by far one of my most anticipated games for the 360. It's also, easily, the best looking thing so far to come out of the Unreal Engine 3. One of the very few things overall to come out of UE3 or the Doom 3 engine that isn't embarrasing to look at, imo.

What would make it look 'inspired'? People toss that word around a little too much.

more spikey hair and bigger eyes please </gaf>

Seriously, this is why we need more western RPG's. Looks great.

Reading comprehension 101. I said 'wickedly original in that regard', which refers to the aforementioned comment towards the setting and atmosphere.

Tell me, what's the last game you played that featured a similar setting and/or mythos to JE? The game was kinda crap, sure, but it's look was very inspired.

Well, rumor has it that Bioware is also working on Jade Empire 2. I am looking forward to seeing that game world done with Next-gen graphics. Hopefully, they learn something about making a quality combat system this time around.

What was so bad about Jade Empire? I say that, having not played a single Bioware game.

The basic gameplay was terrible--combat was a half-assed mix of RPG and action elements, with no real tactical thought needed.

Inspired means the game is in a realistic Japanese/Chinese setting with unrealistic Japanese/Chinese characters. Anything for the wannabe 'aZNs' to jerk off to.

What does uninspired mean?

A couple of people have said this kinda looks like blade runner. Yeah, it does, except its not and it doesnt come anywhere near close.

This has nothing to do with wacky jappy hair styles and asia.

Would you guys recommend, say, Jade Empire or the KOTOR games to someone like me who normally can't really get into RPGs? I usually get bored five hours into those things. The last RPG I completed was the original Lunar.

Looking nice. Glad to see that at least one dev isn't going happy go jacky on the shine mapping.

Nice variation of environments: Jungle, barren outdoors, ship interior, neon city.

Can't wait to see the finished product.

If you are a Star Wars fan, then I'd recommend the first KOTOR whole heartedly. The second one, not so much, but that one wasn't created by BioWare.

I would go for KOTOR. I think someone who isnt into rpgs can get into it.... the battle engine thing is pretty damn good aswell, and easy to use. I think the game is easier to get into than most jrpgs...

holy fucking shit! And this from a company not known for delivering high end graphics.

Finally! We're starting to see games built from the ground up on X360!
