Massive Fireworks Factory Explosion in Beirut

Man if that's the end result of (possibly) planting a bomb in a fireworks factory, then those places should be forced to have 24/7 security and guards around the premises. Not gonna happen, but in a perfect world that's what it would take to avoid such destruction in the first place

I'm not knowledgeable enough to speculate, but could the fireworks have made the bomb deadlier? Or was that really what a building full of fireworks is capable of?

If there was a gun to my head and I was told my life depended on the correct answer I'd guess there was a bomb involved as well
From what I've read, it was explosive material apprehended from an ilegal cargo. It was stocked in the city port, maybe along with apprehended fireworks or I don't know...

What seems to have happened is, the fireworks started the first fire and that caused the explosive material apprehended to explode, leading to the massive explosion..

Edit: I didn't photshop it or whatever, I just happened to pause the video and saw this face. Creepy.

Can jet fuel melt steel beams?
"A country that is used to explosions".

I mean, not really? That's kind of like saying Canadians are used to mass shootings
You've never heard the term "It's like Beirut in here"? It's synonymous with chaos. Look here if you don't believe me.

I know, it's very outdated and Lebanon seems to get painted with the same brush as countries like Iraq or Syria. Even though Lebanon is a Christian country and Beirut is a tourist hotspot.

From the inside of a passing by car

This one kind of drives home the long-distance concussive impact for me. If it does that to a car, I can only imagine what it actually feels like, getting hit with that shockwave. :messenger_confused:

Kind of a weird feeling knowing that many of these filmers are not okay, if even alive.

Separating out the loss of life (looks like a lot more than just double digits of casualties)...

I can't help but be awe-struck by seeing something like that in real life, right or wrong.

If this is what some military explosives from a non-superpower, lying around in a warehouse can do, it's a stark reminder of how much we never, ever want another war, even outside of nukes.

I had the same reaction. Feel really bad for all caught in it, and hope they can recover quickly . . . at the same time . . .

Just woke up and saw this, wow. Feel bad for everyone involved, imagine the peeps who were filming this far away and got hit by the wave. Damn

Holy shit this looks straight out of Akira or Evangelion. As if 2020 wasn't already fucked up enough. There's no way the death count is in the double digits.

The people who post the videos they filmed... I wonder if they're fine? Wouldn't they get blasted away by the shockwave?

The explosion/shockwave in Beirut was thousands of times more powerful than the 1995 Oklahoma City bomb that devastated a Federal building.

Imagine IF that had been a Leftwing |sraeli terrorist trying to start a war and upend law & order in Israel because he hates Bibi.
-- That's EXACTLY what Antifa and BLM would do IF THEY COULD to large downtown areas in major U.S. cities.

This is why Antifa, BLM and the entire radical communist Left in America must be crushed, utterly.

lol This is a joke right?

Left-wing Israeli holy shit. If Bibi wants to do it, he will do it. There is no fallout because whoever sits in the Whitehouse will shield him. He can act with complete impunity. Even more so with Trump as the current Israeli lapdog occupying it.

Those vids of the explosion are shocking. Fucking bad situation and these people are probably going to need international help with the immediate aftermath

Can you guys believe that there are people out there saying just because this was tweeted yesterday

And this tweeted today

That there is some kind of connection here? Seems like a stretch when a simple fireworks factory accident explains it perfectly. Occam yo.

This is some Alex Jones levels of nonsense right here. Holy shit.

....this totally doesn't look like a firework explosion.... and the death will be on the 300 imho....what a mess this 2020...

Guys, it's Rick Wiles out of Vero Beach, Florida. He is a known Jew-hater. Likely a Catholic. Also, he's been turning on Trump for the past 6-8 months.

Yeah, the source I quoted is full of anti-Jewish "Christianity". But I cannot fully hate on them because Rick Wiles and his co-hosts are believers in Christ.

So I'll let that rest.

Seeing videos from different perspectives is scary. This shit was powerful. I haven't stopped thinking about this since i found out and saw more of it today. The powers that be bless you all, this has been a crazy year.

I don't know, Israel hasn't attacked Beirut in years. They are happy taking pot shots at Iran and Hezzie in Syria and I don't think they would open another front. Its really way to risky of a move to take out some Hezzie weapons caches. And its not really Israel style, they would use some sort of missle or something not planting a bomb.

The only hitch is the activity lately in Iran. Since we have seen many explosions there because of "gas leaks" maybe Israel is getting more daring. Still doesn't fit for them to attack Lebanon over this. Unless Israel really is ratcheting up the attacks.

Most likely the offical story of fire works and then this AN being stored there because of a legal dispute caused the huge explosion. Or it was Hezzie/Iran weapons depot that went boom, lighting the AN.

Apparently the incident has been added to the Ammonium Nitrate disasters' list

Also the base chemical favoured by terrorists, there was no fireworks in this explosion e.g. no pretty colours or differing vectors or multiple material ejection. Raw material denoting I'd say. It's purpose remains clouded but ain't no firework I ever saw.

You did watch the videos that start a little earlier than just the ones showing the big boom? It was the fireworks explosions that set off the ammonium nitrate store.

That's why there are so many social media videos, their cameras were already pointing that way for the start of the incident. Usually for incidents like this you'd only get security cam footage.

My bad then, must have missed those earlier vids.

All these tweets were resulting of some action: a middle from Hamas, an infiltration from Hizbollah. The collateral damage here wouldn't pay off any target in Lebanon, especially inside a Marouni stronghold such as Beirut. Just knowing the story and politics of the region and the conflict would help anyone get to this conclusion. When they don't, they tend to confabulate narratives that serve them, but aren't connected to reality.
